@@scotthendersonKoiAndHawks yes I’ve heard parent reared birds are more of a challenge , both me and the wife both fly Harris’s but have been talking for some time about buying a gos but it’s hard to get good relibiable information about the differences , (lots about the individuals) but not comparisons .
@@scotthendersonKoiAndHawks no no it wasn’t a comparison between a gos and a Harris , it was a comparison between a parant reared and a imprint goshawk 👍🏻 I’m sure I’ll find that information , thanks Scott and good luck with yours
Hi Scott. Is he a finnish goshawk? I'm torn between a Harris hawk and a finnish goshawk. I here the finnish goshawks are a bit easier to work with, then other types of goshawks.
He is a Finnish but we have northern aswell and there's not much difference goshawks in general can be a handful. If it's going to be you first bird I'd go Harris as there more forgiving
Most welcome. I can tell right away he trusts you and there's a bond there. He likes you. I'm sure he's scared and feels out of place and is trying to assess what's going on. It's a good sign. I raised parrots for a while and every time I re-homed the babies the parents would freak right out. Birds like consistency and change freaks them out. Enjoy his company
She is a stunning hawk, can not wait until im able to get my first bird, been researching and planning for almost 2 years now
Thank you 😊 that's brilliant research and planning is key you'll enjoy more 👍
Cool thanks for the viewing
Love to see more stuff on your goshawks , as a keeper of goshawks which would you recommend Imprints or parent reared ?
Personally I prefer imprints but parent reared are more of a challenge

@leighandrew9073 yes it would be hard for me to do a comparison as I've never worked with a Harris.

Thanks agen just time and patience will pay off in the end
Stunning bird
Thank you 👍
various birds of prey can be tamed and bonded a long side humans but they were never domesticated like cats or dogs
Definitely mate my birds are hunting birds yes we create a bond but they are still wild
Is he imprint or PR mate
He's s 2yr imprint
your goshawk is too vocal
That's noting that mate he's a 2021 bird that never been flown n sat in a pen. It's just nerves
