I enjoy how perfect The Prisoner is for a first go-through. You go into this game with a narrator being intentionally obtuse and a voice in your head telling you that the story thus far isn't adding up. But if the narrator is telling the truth, the threat the princess poses is something to take seriously. This is a situation that any logical person would approach with a level of skepticism. So you treat both the princess and the narrator with a level of detachment, trying to objectively decide which of the two is more trustworthy. And with how the princess reciprocates that detatched skepticism, and the narrator continuong to not give you a satisfactory level of info, this distust of either party never really goes away. It makes sense then, why this is the princess that changes the absolute least between chapters- you're looking at her from an objective standpoint, and as such find it difficult to see her as anything else besides what you first see.
Yup. Went through this route blind as my first one and was constantly debating with myself. I've seen others go for other routes first and the nuance and mystery just isn't there.
Yeah, it makes sense this is the route where she becomes the most "normal" version of herself because it's (IMO) the one where you treat her with the most fairness. You acknowledge her as a potential threat, but you also listen to what she has to say and recognize she has a point over the Narrator, and then you refuse to betray her when He tries to override your decision, even at the cost of your own life. At the end of Chapter I she neither hates nor idealizes you, she doesn't go on an ego trip and she doesn't have to become anything she wasn't already in order to survive and find hope. I adore the ending where she cuts off her head and you take it outside: you trust her to make the right call over her own fate and she trusts you to follow through with her plan without giving it away. Overall I think the Prisoner and the Skeptic are my favorite "couple" in the game, they're just two very smart people who don't necessarily like each other but who build a lot of mutual respect and trust and work together to find their freedom
She is my personal favorite. There is something about her cold and aloof peronality that just feels right for the character as a whole. The situation you're both trapped in calls for patience and skepticism, and of all the versions of the princess we can encounter, she embodies those the best.
I also love her chemistry with Voice of the Skeptic. How they're both suspicious of each other and the Narrator but in that skepticism they found trust in each other. The Prisoner trusted the Long Quiet to get the hint and Skeptic realised her plan and tried to convince the Narrator to bring her head without outing the plan.
@@theantagonist2589Yeah, the best routes definitely have this quiet "You get me" between the princess and the particular voice that appeared. You get the same feeling between the Opportunist and the Witch or the Stubborn and the Adversary.
I especially like the "drops of water" sounds in this piece, giving the impression of being trapped in a cell And also giving a subtle nod the possibility of the drowned grey
"Not the one for small talks are you?"
"Nope"

“Did you just say the word wink out loud?”
"No i didn't... wink"

I find the Princess' expression in the prisoner to be absolutely hilarious!
She is so done with all of this 😂

*”Do you think this is a game?”*
Personally my favourite princess.

This princess seems the most like the original chapter 1 princess to me... Even the basement is a continuation of chapter 1's, 3 chains instead of 1!
Personally why I am most interested in this route. The princess seems the most “genuine” here.
"Hey......"
"Want to see my head come off?"
Tbh she slays (literally and figuratively )
It sounds like a victorian crime drama
Princess 😒
I'm not a number, I'm a free girl!
"Big collective laugh"
Do you think this is a game?
Ohno
Good or bad
Slay the princess anti heroes
ME: What the...?
PostalDude: is it me or princess got three chain?
Princess Prisoner: so, you finally rescue me aren't you? Come closer you two.
