      It seems to happen to all youtube creators nowadays. Someone compresses the video into a gif and posts it on facebook, cashing in on ad revenue. Never mind that gifs are probably the worst possible format of viewing something like this...

    Now that's a really cool bowl, thank you for sharing. John Heisz mentioned you in one of his diatribes about how you already know so much compared to what us older chaps knew at your age - he's not wrong, what you share is amazing and I hope you find time to continue even when you get into the next chapter of your life. Also, the drill turned turntable at the end, genius!

      That trick is called stop motion, and it's definitely borrowed from Frank Howarth, who was probably the first one to do woodworking/turning videos using it.
      (Not saying it's bad that Jeremy borrowed this trick. Just making a recommendation that you check out Frank's channel.)

    We have that same way that's cool with the same free-standing tool rest. And I have that same way the home too! What you need to do is make another piece that is an extension arm for the tool rest stand so that it can go into the free-standing tool rest and then it can pivot but it has a hole for another part of a tool rest. So basically it's a pivoting extension kind of similar to how GoPros have that extra little piece that's an extension. That way the foot can go to the right side of the cabinet and then the other foot can go right flat against the cabinet and then you can still reach all the way to the headstock. Even with a 4in tool rest. I'm sure you could make one of those! Awesome job and good luck with that

    Would love to see this done again, but with varying thicknesses of scraps so that they don't look like layers. it would take a lot more work to assemble, but the result would be amazing... not that this wasn't.

    What a cool bowl, I just now went through about 3 weeks of gluing my scraps into large chunks of wood and then cutting and gluing those into rings for a bowl which I had blow apart in my face and strike my face shield. It would have been a great bowl, just like this one, cheers mate, subbed!

    This is one of the few truly chaotic builds I have ever seen. Most of the time people use some sort of repeating and seemingly irregular pattern but inverted at various spots to make the build seem chaotic. Good form.

    I loved the idea in the beginning (00:38) and although the end product is nice, I would have loved to see the outcome if you had not sanded the different layers. It would have probably taken twice as long to make but would have been an interesting result.

    I'll be interested to see whether you end up with a wood movement issue in the bottom of the bowl. Saw some of Kyle Toth's early bowls in a video the other day and time was not kind. I've got one like that which hasn't had an issue yet but the bottom ring isn't so wide.

    "OCD defying project" -- one of the best throw-away remarks I've ever heard. I'm still chortling... Btw, you need to think about raising your lathe. (Spindle at least at elbow height; I'm most comfortable 3 inches above that.) At times you looked like you were searching for something you'd lost on the floor :-) Clyde
