Thank you for your service to our country. Thank you for the research you have done to protect the bears. I will share this video to spread the word.

Your words are so important right now. I believe all wilderness is under attack by humans and we have forgotten that these are our brothers and sisters, and the places where they live are the inner sanctum of our own hearts.
"The potential for having different kinds of relationships with wild animals like Grizzlies are really unlimited, we just never really give them a chance. We need wildness more than we'll ever know because it's inside of us, and we need whatever brings it out of us because it's our best quality." Doug Peacock-

I am hunter. I am. I’m proud of it and it’s who I am. I’m a 16 year old boy and big game animals have saved my life. I love deer and elk. They are absolutely beautiful. But I love hunting and eating them. Hunting those bear...believe it or not will help the environment. It will help the deer and elk, but most of all, the money payed for the tag to hunt them will go straight to helping wildlife where the fish and game biologists feel it is needed. It will go back and help control the bear population and make it flourish. That, my good sir, the people, anyone who reads this is why they, why I, hunt animals. And most hunters eat (even bear) the animals they kill.

believe it or not... but I doubt Doug lacks respect for hunters or anyone who has experience and respect for the wild, which is a minority of the population. And when he says 'potential for having different kinds of relationship with wild animals.. are unlimited', I think he has considered hunting as within the framework of those relationships we know. And even if hunting was all about the love of the wild and not the gun, the prizing of the place and not the trophy, a lasting commitment to maintaining the landscape flourishing and not a fleeting fashion like camouflage gear (I'm not saying that's what you are or even your hunting community, but no doubt all sorts of hunting takes place). In 1994 a hunter sued Wyoming Game and Fish Department for getting injured by a grizzly that he shot at, because he didn't know grizzlies are 'dangerous and likely to cause damage and injuries'. People like Doug are interested to talk about those measures that will keep the wildness, not only around us, but within us, allowing it to save and inspire lives of people such as yourself, many generations on... just thinking it's going to remain there with good tagging practices and land management is where the debate lies.
