    I found a Sig suppressor for my MCX Spear LT and it is currently in jail! When I had called Sig, they didn’t have any in stock so I’m grateful that I found one.

      Yeah me too. 7.62 but it will suffice. It’s a compact one and titanium so not very quiet we’ll see how it does when it comes out of jail.

    Just stumbled upon your vids, couple of observations from my own experience. The button head torx screws for the forend will easily strip out if you torque them to 45 inch lbs., don't remove the flat head torx screws holding the retainer tab on the bottom of the forend, and finally, my Gisselle reaction rod does not fit the chamber on these guns. I had to ship my upper back to Sig to remove and replace the stripped torx screws on the forend and also asked them to remove the muzzle device as I run a DeadAir Sandman S. Customer service was great, they covered all shipping and turn around time was 4 days. They told me they have received bent and mangled receivers from customers who tried to remove the muzzle device without the proper tools.

    • @shootloadrepeat
      @shootloadrepeat  11 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the information which is sorely needed. I have not yet tried to do anything with the muzzle device, and will look into sending to Sig for removal although I do have a dedicated barrel vice I could use to clamp down the barrel outside the receiver. Good to know on the handguard screws as well. Thanks for watching and for the useful info.

    • @shootloadrepeat
      @shootloadrepeat  9 месяцев назад

      Little update. I removed the muzzle device by clamping the barrel (removed from upper and also removed the oprod to give me more room) in a dedicated barrel vice. I have bushings that enabled me to spin off the flash hider with a 3/4 socket and a few whacks with a dead blow hammer. Did not soak in water but if one doesn’t have a barrel vice, water soak is the only option.

      The reason why so many strip the handguard screws is because they're NOT standard torx t15! They are Torx Plus IP15 screws. Wish Sig would note this !!

    Military does use the Rattler, and I'm sure they use the 5.56 in some units. I know SAS and other elite groups have used the LT.

    • @shootloadrepeat
      @shootloadrepeat  12 дней назад

      I guess there is a usecase for portability and maneuverability in close areas. The Rattler in 300AAC is probably the ultimate PDW and I am looking for parts to build an FDE one someday. I know you can get the black ones all day every day, so may have to settle for one of those.

      Just filed paperwork on a Sig SLH 7.62 compact Ti can. I may leave it on after all. I figure I'll soak in water anyway. I have a 9L heated ultrasonic I can stick the barrel into and then put this in a barrel vise to spin it off if I get antsy waiting a year for approval to come in.

      For me to remove the flash hide I put the tip of the barrel in boiling hot water and held it there for about 5-10 minutes. It was still VERY difficult to twist off I almost ended up breaking my desk with the vise lol. I wish Sig wouldn’t put rock set on all the flash hiders. But anyway really nice video thanks for checking mine out.

    What's your opinion on the STOCK folding INWARDS, not OUTWARDS ? To me, it is a VERY PROBLEMATIC proposition as the stock gets tangled with uniform, equipment, etc. and the shooter needs to open some room between its body in order to deploy it. FN-FAL deploys outwards...

    • @shootloadrepeat
      @shootloadrepeat  Месяц назад

      @@renatosureal I don’t have ausecase in which that matters too much since I’m not a professional in that sense, but the beauty of the system being modular jeans that you can indeed get a stock that collapses inward like an MP5 but you have to buy that stock, or outwards to the right by just flipping the folding mechanics around.

    any more barrel flex issues? I have the 9” 300blk. Mine doesn’t seem to have the issue, but I’m concerned been seeing this all over the place.

    • @shootloadrepeat
      @shootloadrepeat  Год назад +3

      I believe in my case it was mostly if not all, the handguard flexing and not the barrel, as I took it on a range trip and put over 300 rounds through it in quick succession. I stuck it in a case and when i pulled it out at home the. handguard has flexed over to one side. A boresight confirmed the barrel was not affected. I ended up installing the Arisaka zero retention clamp and it really stiffened the entire thing up. In your case the 9” barrel and shorter handguard will have a much smaller lever moment so the issue should be less apparent. Will see over time if it happens again but will confirm zero next time I’m out just in case.

    Hello there, any idea how I can block the stock from folding? I live in CA and just purchased a MCX spear LT.

    • @shootloadrepeat
      @shootloadrepeat  12 дней назад

      I'm not sure of the legality, and don't take this as advice, but I assume you are not allowed to have a folding stock, so I would try to find a 1913 straight/non-folding knuckle to replace the folding mechs that it comes with. Then you can put the minimalist stock on it. But I really don't know the answer to this or who might offer it. Maybe JMAC customs makes a fixed adapter that you can bolt the Sig stock to?

  • @christianbattung2548
    @christianbattung2548 2 месяца назад

    Question, the part that holds the bolt catch just needs to be punched out right? Its not threaded?

    What size Torx do I nee for the handguard and barrel screws?

    • @shootloadrepeat

      You probably already have your answer but it's T15@ 35in-lbs for the handguard retention screws and T27 @60in-lbs for the barrel clamp. Torx of course.
