It's complicated. My little brother died homeless. He was addicted and had aids from overseas. It's heartbreaking 💔 to even think about.
Love you Jessica because I know that you must have times when you know that you need help. What can you lose by going to treatment? What would you gain?
I'd get a notebook and make a list of those points.
Jessica I'm 63 , I was abused by every family member in my home until 5th grade...then it was just moms abuse. I've been through alot of stuff believe me. I understand what you're going through.

Most won't go to rehab not becouse the love of the drug but becouse they are scared to face the realities of life . They use the drug not to get high but to hide from life ..

I wish she would take you up on her offer to get the help she needs, because tomorrow may be to late. I lost my daughter 9 years ago to her addiction. She refused to get help! The coroner called me to tell me that my daughter had passed away. She was 40 years old. She wasn't homeless, but she refused to live with me, maybe she didn't like my nagging her to go to rehab. I just hope that woman sees the light before it's too late.

It's really a shame cause she doesn't realize how beautiful she is. She has a sweet heart she's just lost. I pray she sees the light before it's to late.

If her mother is older she may not text .. My mom is 74 & doesn’t ever check her text messages unless I call her and tell her to check her messages.. 😂
It’s so sad that she thinks she will always have tomorrow. I’m glad you keep trying and that you don’t give up on her. Maybe one day she will be ready.

Jessica does not look good, i think she is scared of what might happen if she goes to rehab, but you giving her those statistics of how many homeless people pass away each month etc., might get her to take the plunge and go? Michael you're completely right. I would work harder than my clients (and some family) and I did all the work with no follow through on their part. It was good to hear you give her the info and let her know you'll be there for her when she decides. I had 2 uncles die on the streets. One made more than $500 per day and it all went to the drugs that killed him. Jessica is looking worse each time I pray she gets enough clearness to realize what you told her is true. Thank you so much for caring for the "invisible" people in Tucson❤

My best friend was texted a photo and information on his daughter. He couldn't believe it and he took a trip to the area he sat and waited in the area and after four days they were face to face he took her to get help and visited every time they let. He has only hope and that's everything to a father at least he tried. Bless those who grow kids are lost in themselves tell a angel sends info.

I like your strategy handling Jessica, no pressure, only words from the heart. Towards the end of your video she looked like she was going to break down in silent tears. You just may have broken through a little bit with her on this visit. If you even broke through 1%, you moved some huge mountains.
When it comes to your offer to take her to rehab, Jessica needs to "Say Yes to the Bless". It's not every day that someone like you will come along and actually care, I truly hope she can see that.

She has a fear greater than her addiction. Tragic stories and or scared tactics will not work, she is well aware of what can happen, she is living it. You need to find the root of the fear or put her in a motel for a week. A soft warm bed, hot showers and a taste of normalcy might just trigger something.

It would be great if there was an easy solution. Unfortunately they need to want it for themselves.
Theres a very good channel "Put The Shovel Down" that I recommend to anybody with alcohol & drug addictions & their families. She's great she knows what she's talking about.
My husband passed 3 years ago from alcoholism , but I didn't want to bring it up because
it's far far far worse losing a child than a husband.
No offense to my passed husband, because I know he would totally agree with me on that.

Thanks for trying. It's sad you can't help them unless they want the help. I had a cousin who fought with the addiction most his life. He would stop for a year or two . And he would go back to doing it. Sadly he lost his life to it.

I’m a case manager working with the homeless in NC. Michael I make those same offers all the time, and unfortunately rarely are they ready. In three years I’ve estimated I lose one person every three months on the street. Hugging them one day and they’re gone the next. But you are right, we can’t work harder they they are willing to. I’ve learned that lesson. So I love on everyone and keep offering.
It broke my heart that her mama didnt atleast respond. I dont know but maybe that would encourage her just a I love her from her mama. I do realize that perhaps her mom has had alot of bad experiences but I don't understand no contact or response at all. The look on Jessicas face broke my heart. Thank you sir for caring & showing compassion & not giving up trying.
my mother overdosed this year in january from fentanyl, she was 58, it saddens me that these people (mostly drug addicts that will not change or homeless people being stubborn) refuse the realize the reality of if they keep on with their bs of "ahh nahh, i aint going to a rehab" hell thats better than being dead in the streets somewhere! drugs are not as important as your life, family, friends and loved ones!

Mike your a angel for sure, such ashame she will not go to rehab, She would be so much happier after, My nephew was telling me he was clean, didnt do drugs any more, Little back story, He was a diabetic, and was on the needle for it, only he thought I was stupid i guess, because I would see infected track marks on his arms) he would tell me no aunty that is for my diabeties, I use to get so mad at him, and say you are full of it, you do not put it in your viens, well after a long time i stopped seeing track marks, and he said i am clean now aunty, and he was for 2 years, Until that one time he decided he was going to take 1 pill, well he never woke up in the morning, These people do not understand ONE pill can kill them, and these days the chances are better that you will not wake up to take another one, He was clean for 2 damn years, and went out and take ONE pill, Sad, but all it takes is that 1 time,

Crisis after crisis in the United States. As an expatriate living overseas, I hope all Americans can get educated about the people in government. This is 2024, we should be moving beyond poverty. US companies and government invest trillions of dollars in other countries meanwhile investment in America is dwindling. I want to see investment in our citizens first.

Drug and alchohol addiction and abuse are slow suicide and adding living on the streets ramps up the misery. It's a choice but so agonizing to all who watch and the many who suffer because of the addict's horrid choices.
