I just happen upon a random Alpha Cherubi. I got so lucky.
Once I've completed my livingdex from all their original regions I want to complete an Alphadex as well. The whole idea is just so cool.

I got the Alpha Burmys easily. I much wish I had shared that luck with Porygon line, Magnemite line, and Fossils. Still don’t have Finneon, Porygon, Porygon2, and Original Sneasel. Yes that’s right. I got Alpha Porygon-Z and Weavile but not their prevos.

It's honestly really reassuring to see evidence of this being extremely luck based. I was going for a less intense challenge myself of getting every final evolutions alpha variant. I was also only collecting pokemon native to Sinnoh and Hisui since Hisui is technically the ancient time period of Sinnoh. I've been trying for a few months now to get hisuian samurott, but even with massive mass outbreaks, the damn thing eludes me.

It's really interesting to see what people invest in or want to obtain in pokemon.
I only want alphas of specific pokemon, and my first ever shiny of PLA was a shiny alpha petilil, so I'm a little spoiled(had to get humbled by a shiny male combee being my first in another playthrough.) I tend to catch random alphas, but I release most of them because I'd want the grit item they release more than I care that it's big or marked.
I don't play competitively, but I breed for IVs especially since I prefer to masuda hunt a lot of my shinies(My first ever perfect IV shiny was a shroomish. I seem to have good luck with grass fighting types, maybe I should look for shiny Virizion in the ultra wormholes soon lol)
But I always prefer female pokemon etc. I tend to be picky about the shinies I like so some I don't hunt for or only hunt it so I have it, not because I really want it. And a decent amount of my time goes into thinking about fakemon(I think a custard evolution of alcremie that has to get hit by a fire type move while holding it's chosen sweet to evolve would be really cool, but I admittedly cane up with the concept because as much as I adore alcremie, I don't actually like whipped cream.)
And I have a friend who plays more casually than me who doesn't really care about most of that stuff. It's just neat to consider sometimes all of the little quirks across the fandom.

And don’t even get me started on the Shiny Hunting. Shiny Barboach is my white whale cause I still don’t have one! Cherubi can suck a lemon. And I have never gotten a the Dimensional Distortion exclusive shiny! I’ve gotten shinies in them but none of the ones I want!
