I’ve been following Chetan Bhagat for the last two years. I’ve never actually read any of his books but ever since he’s been doing YT videos I’ve followed him closely. His videos are to the point without beating about the bush and I genuinely feel he has helped millions including me in becoming a better version of myself, while opening our eyes to things that society conveniently brushes under the carpet. He is a free citizen in a democracy and he is entitled to his opinion like everyone else. I follow him for motivational videos and not his political commentary. One must remember that he is an author, a motivational speaker and a RUclipsr and that’s precisely the reasons I follow him for. He is not a psephologist nor is he a political analyst or political strategist. This interview was more like a drawing room discussion between two people over a glass of whiskey. Everyone has their opinions and he is free to exercise them like any other citizen of India even though your drawing room discussions may lack any basis or facts on the grounds. Personally I’m thoroughly disappointed to see him give an interview to a person who has been known to conduct biased debates and discussions in favour of the current ruling dispensation. No important issues were discussed - jobs, inflation, unemployment, crime against women, hate speeches, demolition of public institutions none whatsoever but it is futile to even expect those from a motivational speaker. I will not unfollow him nor unsubscribe him because I honestly feel he has genuine content to help youngsters. However, it was sad and hilarious to see such an interview devoid of the most pressing issues plaguing the country today. Uttering the phrase “bitter truth” multiple times won’t turn modi’s blatant lies into truths. Hoping in the future better sense prevails before giving interviews, if not him, at least someone from his team.
