When did gloss black become piano black? I don't have a piano in my car. I've got a 2022 Bolt EUV Premier and love it. The only option that I don't have is Super Cruise because I wouldn't trust it anyhow!
You're missing out then, Super Cruise is an awesome feature. I had the pleasure of showing a new Cadillac CT5 customer how it worked the other day, he was blown away.
It deactivates the Super Cruise system until you restart the car. If you don't intervene it will put the hazard lights on, pull the vehicle to the side of the road and shut the car down.
I find the supercruise useless if you don't do a lot of highway everytime. It's only on highways and after 3 years, it's subscription. So it comes expensive if you don't use it often. the extra 2000$ do get it is like paying in advance for 3 years subscription
But that's the same thing as any cruise control, or more advanced adaptive CC. You don't use it driving 3 miles to Target. Most people hardly use it but it's very nice to have when you do.
@@davidmccarthy6061 except that CC is free, this is a minimum of 2500$ (more if you continue after 3 years) so if you use only a few times a year, it's expensive
There's a reason there's a subscription fee, but you're getting the OnStar services along with it. The LiDAR information is sent via the LTE data connection in real time to the vehicle, with about 2.5kms of data downloaded ahead. Since the LiDAR information is constantly being updated, and pre-loading every single mapped road on every vehicle would be inefficient, a subscription service is the only option in order to have the system work as intended. It's why Super Cruise stands out as the dominant hands-free driving system on the market right now.
Canadian pricing is not very competitve. There are other makes. When it come to replace battery. Is it going to be Ultium battery? Too many unknown. Should wait for later model bolt with new battery and charging technology.
There's certainly a lot of choice in this size segment for EVs now. It won't be replaceable with an Ultium battery, it's a different EV architecture compared with this Bolt, but much like other EVs on the market there isn't a lot of choice outside an OEM battery replacement.
People seem to pick on Little Things much more than on gas cars if you want to pay $10,000 more, do it I'm not very interested in autonomous driving until it's full autonomous and the price comes down, I don't think geo-mapping only is going to get there.
Pianoblackophobes, either should get a life (there are so many other worthy things to complain about) OR next time in Walmart, pick up a microfiber cloth in cleaning supplies. They remove fingerprints mach schnell giving back that great GM feeling. BTW, the Bolt EUV Premiere is the very best bang for the buck (EV or gas) car, bar none, available. Love 😍 mine.
I had always hoped to drive one of these back when I was on the press circuit, the regular Bolt EV was nice but I like the updates they introduced for the EUV. They sell very well also!
I agree - these reviewers should get over the copycat remarks about piano black. I have owned my Bolt EV 2LT for almost four months and I don't have a single smudge on it. Why would you even be touching these surfaces? You should be touching your screen or the buttons below, that's about it. I use a small microfiber cloth and the lens cleaner I use for my eyeglasses to remove fingerprints from the infotainment screen. All this piano black complaining is sheer nonsense. BTW, I would argue that the Bolt EV 1LT gives the best bang for the buck. It's a phenomenal deal. I made a last minute decision to upgrade to the EV 2LT because I wanted Surround Vision - and I'm glad I did. Other than that, the 1 LT with two packages would have been a great choice. Even with the upgrade, I was out the door at about USD 28,000 - and will be eligible for up to $7500 U.S. tax credit.
I wanted a LT1 with the $500 cross-traffic option only, fortunately they offered me an lt2 without the mandatory add-on BS got heated seats glad I got it
Supercruise is awesome use it if you get the chance!
Fantastic review!
Thanks for checking it out!
Thanks!
Very good review. I'm taking one and I want to know if you faced the full Quebec winter or just the end of it?
James had this at the start of March, so still Winter by Quebec standards. I believe I (Nile) drove one in the winter also.

And what about piano White
Has anyone tried to see what happens when you dont comply with the eye monitoring software?

Very informative.👍.but not boring..But I have a big ?😲 Should I worry about the stop production factor// parts warranty,😬 Etc???😊thanks!
GM will continue to support the Bolt models in terms of parts and service after production ends this year.
Manufacturers are required to cover parts until the end of the warranty period, so you'd be safe until that runs out
The Bolt is the second fastest charger on level 2, which is what most people will do.
That's true, we never had issues with the Bolt EV when we had them on our L2 charger at home.

Fair enough.
Does it have power tailgate?
Nope
I believe it was an option on the Premier with a package.
Did you actually mean to say that the 65 kWh battery is under the hood?
It's an expression to 'look under the hood' when it comes to the specifications of a vehicle's drivetrain.
Charge is too slow
Faster charging would likely result in a lower battery life based on this technology.
