I was wanting to do something chalk-boardy in my classroom one day, and these would be perfect! Kids have do put together journals throughout the year, and puting black poster board in a cheep frame to hang up with weekly objectives would be so cool! when its time to move the next unit just earacse and good to go!:)
Wow this video is super helpful to me so Thank you! I am working on my first chalkboard project which is a Christmas plaque counting down the days til Christmas and I stumbled on this video while searching how to cure chalboard paint...therefore I never even knew Chalk Markers exist or could even be used on glass as well! Do you know if I can I get them from Pat Catans?
Hi there! Thanks so much for your comment; great question! You could certainly try it out, but I would worry that the tips of the chalk markers might clog up with the regular chalk dust while you're drawing; or that the two mediums might resist each other, and create strange gaps and smears in your letters. But definitely worth a try! :) Hope that helps a bit and thank you so much for watching! :) Best, Meredith
Hi there! Sorry for the slight delay in my response! These are great chalk markers, in my opinion. However I've only tried a few other brands, so I'm not drawing on a huge bank of experience. These markers are very opaque, dry well, and work on a large number of different surfaces, so they've been great for me. :) If you're curious about any other brands, I'd recommend searching for review & comparison videos on RUclips. There are usually some for these kinds of products. Additionally, the company that makes these gave my subscribers a 15% off coupon code to use, so that's an extra plus. :) The code is 15OFFSTR, just so you know. :) Hope this helps and thank you so much for watching! :) Best, Meredith
@@TheWittyGrittyPaperCo thank you so much for taking the time for making this video, I'm looking forward to trying your suggestions on my afternoon project. I'm looking to do something for Christmas. I'm totally artsy and crafty , but chalk lettering makes me a bit nervous. I'll keep watching more of your videos. ♡
I use a chalk pencil to make my guide lines and then rub it lightly with a paper towel to erase it :) much easier

You could also try 18" painters tape and just pull it off. It will pull off some of the chalk, but so does all that wiping.
Those markers look cool

Make the guides with a black marker. You can see it up close but from far away no one can tell.
Hi! Great video. Can you spray the finished product with sealer to make it permanent?

What about doing the guides in regalar chalk? Wait until the chalk pen ink dries then wipe away the guides with a dry cloth.

I like to use soap stone, very easy to rub away! I also cant stand the feel of actual chalk.
