Thanks! I think bells attract more attention when ringing and it makes it sound more genuine than just a car alarm sort of noise! Although I do still really like piezo sounders etc

Right so my alarm sounds like the new abbot one. Its 2:50am rn where i am and the alarm went off without anyone in my house realising but i did. The outdoor alarm is right next to my bedroom window and unfortunately my windows were open at the time. My dog set the alarm off. When the it went off i dont think i have ever been in fear of my life ever like i would rather be in a near death situation than have the screeching sound of one of these burning my ears whilst i am asleep
Thanks! A lot of my alarms come from the bins at my local alarm companies, because when they take them down from buildings, they let me have them for free. Other alarms I have removed from buildings or are bought from eBay.
@L.C Fire alarms,security and more where are what bins? I’d ask the company if they’d let you take the alarms in the first place! They are not always in a bin that is accessible or outside the building
You seem to know alot about bell boxes. I wonder if you could help. I have a bell box on my house that is white with a blue bottom (not a lens, just polycarbonate). It looks similar to an ADE Sonade 2000. But at the bottok right of the white part, it has a built in always on comfort led. Do you know which one it is?

@@alarmmuseum I'll need to head to my parents at some point, it's prior to (I believe) the merger with ADT, 1990s , the key panel was green, it had Fire (🔥) Police (🚨) and Ambulance (⛑️) on the top of the key panel, panick button (white casing, single button, with white strips boarding the sides) speaker (4 slats speaker box for the landing or hallway ) red eye sensors , and Alarm box for the outside of the house...

@@Noo-NooForever the control panel inside the house would still be in situ and would normally have a ‘power’ LED lit up. There’d be motion detectors in the corners of the rooms that would light up when you walk in front of them too, unless the alarm earlier than the mid to late 80s. - Sometimes the LEDs in the detectors are deactivated.
You can occasionally find them on eBay or try to visit your local alarm company to see if they have anything they recently de-installed and haven’t thrown away yet or have a look in their bin! You never know what you’ll find!

What do you mean by bell? As in a mechanical ringing bell or a bell box? You shouldn’t as tone generators/inductors generate the alarm sound for the speaker/piezo. A bell would need a 12v output (if it is 12v).
