I love musicians like Matt Nathanson who know they don't have to be shown 100% of the time in their videos for people to watch.
i think the point is more that we appreciate ALL the couples in ALL forms..

I gotta say Matt is one of the most down to earth artists I have ever seen. He truly is himself and it humbles you down. I saw him in SF at the Alice&Zen festival last September. He performed this song along with other good songs including his amazing "Come on get Higher". It's funny when he sang this song I could totally relate to it! Matt is one a kind!
I love how happy all the couples look together, regardless of what kind of couple they are :)

I've been watching this video clip and have been coming back to it for at least two years and it has changed my life
Actually "Modern Love" is referring to all the ways we try to show love and affection with technology (texts, facebook posts, email, etc), and what he wants us to see/hear/know is that THAT is not enough. Nothing beats actually holding hands, looking into someone else's eyes, caring enough to think of the small things or work through a fight. It's much easier to sat STFU in a text and pretend that it doesn't matter than to admit it does and stay together.

I love so much about this video, all the different couples, the dancer, the girl with her dog just makes me feel pure happiness and the three-legged dog is such a wonderful picture of how you can enjoy life, even though there are bad parts! This just made no sense but I feel good now^^
People saying he "stole" this idea from Bright Eyes need to stop being so negative and instead appreciate the simplicity and value of this video. It's upbeat and heart-warming, why start a fight? Matt is brilliant x

Can I just say...I couldn't stop smiling the entire video. I've been a fan of Matt's music for about 5 years now. I was lucky enough to see him live and be about a foot from the stage in a small venue in February. I was SO excited for this video, and it went above and beyond my expectations. It's so incredibly sweet. Whether or not you agree with or support non conventional (man+woman) couples, this video just exudes happiness. Plus...the little girl licking mom's cheek? Priceless.
