To be honest it should be S tier. In my personal opinion vestal is one of the last hero that would suffer from substracting 15% HP. Beside her healing skills, judgement is basically the self-healing strong attack, so she is really hard to kill. 25% healing buffs (judgememt included) for 15% (example -7 HP in 5 level vestal; excluding quirks) is ridiculously cheap price.
Honestly. I find the tone of your voice soothing to have in the background while crunching at work. As for the long format, I think it's a strength rather than a detriment. Especially because you've created timestamps/chapters. It's all good.
@@GeraltofRivia22 It's actually super overpowered lol to use 4 trickets. But i also enjoy using it for fun too. We don't have to always play the hard mode to have fun right ? XD
Thre reason why lfie crystal powercreeps eyepatch is life crystal used to be a rare trinket but when they "buffed" lifecrystal to uncmmon they probably forgot abouth the eyepatch powercreep
I dont know if you keep up with comments in old videos, but i did have an idea to make MaA with Guardian Shield usable. Bear in mind, I'm no pro, so, please do correct me if I'm wrong: Grave Robber, MaA, Vestal, (hellion for rank4 access? Flag/crusader for stress management?) Grave Robber, MaA, Jester, Occultist/flagellant (This variation has stress heals, hp heals but lacks immediate R4 access). Logic goes like this: MaA's kit on #4 is trash. But he can do everything he wants on #3. Turn 1: GR goes for Lunge. MaA is forced into #4. Buffs/ guards. Jester gets pushed to #3. Ballad. Turn 2: GR shadowfades MaA can get Riposte up. Jester is in #2, bleed something. Turn3: Lunge MaA: guard Jester: songs and bleeds available. T4: shadowfade, refresh riposte. With this setup, MaA could have 100% uptime on riposte, plus 50% uptime on shield prot+dodge. And healing can be directed, so nearly 100% uptime on heals received. The Vestal variation would see her stun from #3 on turn 1, Turn 2 = bonk or carpet Turn 3 = back to stun. This team would lack stress healing for MaA though. Cheers! And congratulations on the amazing DD content! Rick.
As somebody who loves playing torchless, I find the dark tambourine to be hot garbo. It doesn't affect any of his stress skills itself, so the light tambourine is actually just better, even with the additional stress. The virtue chance is nothing you actually want to try, so it's barely relevant. In general I just prefer something like a bleed charm and dodge trinkets alongside any +stress skill trinkets I have like ancestor's scroll or the mentioned white tambourine. When I bring the Jester, I know that stress won't be the real issue. Damage will because I now only have 2 dedicated dmg dealers OR 3 dmg dealers and suboptimal healing. To me it's sell tier because it gives good money and I'll always be happy to have that.
55:17 Back in day, when you can spam bolster, actually Guardian Shild worked very well in dodge parties. Position 4 one eye man, and 3 Lara Crofts was one of my favorite party comps.
I remember bloody herb as the first trinket that made me realize how powerful trinkets could be when I first started playing. I was like "hey, this is different now". You can also put both Incision trinkets on your PD and watch her destroy everything in CC.
Glittering Spaulders is essentially just a personal Heavy Boots. Anyways, something that I think would’ve been nice to note is the most common instance of normal runs being at Torchless, that being the Shambler. Shambler Hunting is probably the best case for using Darkness trinkets.
I don't think any of the torchless trinkets are worth taking over the normal best in slot even when shambler hunting, unless you're trying to get the Ancestor Map early in Apprentice / Veteran before you get the better trinkets.
I personally like Antiquarian's Carapace Idol, especially when I didn't put on the Crimson Court. Sure, Antiquarian's main defense is dodge and forcing guards, but if all else fails, a green version of Barristan's Head with no stress downside is pretty good at keeping her alive in my cases.
You mentioned needing to revisit/play more with Vestal cc set, I would strongly support that as well. I usually run Vestal back line and just treat Atonement beads as +35% stun and find that to be good enough when paired with Diary. When using Vestal I find that double healing trinket is excessive mid to late game (with the potential exception of farmstead) and I don't need more damage since she is usually finishing off foes or stunning, which diary improves significantly. With the cc set I'm not using her for stunning anything dodgy, but for everything else she can very consistently stun and potentially double stun if everyone is topped off which is fantastic. There is certainly an argument to be made for running something like Ancestor's Pistol for speed and accuracy, but usually someone else already has the job of quick stunning, while giving her a big + to stun chance really boosts consistency if I expect to run into an enemy that simply MUST be stunned.
23:40 Resurrection's Collar DOES affect Reclaim, it reduces its bleed chance. Doesn't change the item's tier from B though. 24:10 Flag loses 20 dodge when he's afflicted, his death's door only have buffs.
Bro you have a lot of passion for the game . Rn I’m playing it and I love the game and I’m trying to beat the final Darkest dungeon quests... it’s tough . You should make a video for the best ways to defeat the Lv. 6 dungeon from the beginning (getting the talisman of flame) to the final one
Personally, I think if the Jester's Dirge is Unfair, then Bright Tamboruine should be higher than A. The stress heal on the tambourine is almost as powerful, and it reduces the stress you take (if in high torch) so that makes its stress heal more effective. (Though the Dirge is still better in the dark since it gives you less of a stress penalty).
55:13 M@A in position 4. Cheerleading With Guardian shield & Sodden Crew's Bell. Vestal in 3rd heals & stuns, Omen Seeker with her Minus ACC attacks. Shield Breaker busting rocks in position 1. Thing from the Stars died without Damaging, diseasing & stressing us all out.
I feel like disregarding move resist completely is kinda wrong. I understand the fact that even though your rank 1 leper can't be moved to the back, you can still have other people moved in front of him. However, I feel like having someone moved in front of that character means he gets pushed back 1 space, whereas if he was pushed back, he would have been pushed back 2 spaces, which can be devastating for some characters. Overall, move resist is still the worst resist, since there are other things that are much more helpful and less situational, but I don't think it's at a point where you should completely ignore its existence.
Yeah, move resist does matter, but I'd rather sacrifice that than anything else on a trinket. It doesn't matter too much much for most characters, except Arbalest and Leper. And low move resist is actually beneficial on some characters like Holy Lance Crusader.
Just watched the entire thing front to back after randomly getting recommended to me - super entertaining, excellent rationales, subbed. Great work homie.
Pair the Dirge and the Tyrant’s fingerbone, and start the battle with solo and you have a nearly unhittable jester that dirk stabs like a frontline damage dealer.
The Bright Tambourine is still technically usable in torchless, considering that the stress heal bonus is unconditional. Also, Occultist has 4 skills that benefit from Vial of Sand.
I feel like you'd be alright at dota. There's a lot of "This stat looks nice, but this hero doesn't struggle with that so it's not needed" which has some crossover with itemization in dota, always thinking of what enable's the hero's strengths rather than just picking something 'cause it says high damage. Also I can't help but chuckle every time I hear "Bonk Vestal". The two words together are just naturally funny
Wow, there videos are from only 2 weeks ago? I got darkest dungeon a few days ago and watched some videos of yours that were uploaded over a year ago, after I got the hang of the game. I'm pleasantly surprised that you're still making darkest dungeon content
@@ShuffleFM I'm loving both your videos and the game. Makes it very hard to choose sometimes. "Watch this 1+ hour part x/3 video or spend that time playing this fun game"
Personally, I don't consider the HWM CC Trinket set to be in the unfair tier since its missing out on damage and the virtue chance rarely comes into play. The Shameful Locket and the Crystalline Gunpowder are what I usually use together and in my opinion are individually in the Unfair tier. Each of them is arguably better than already S-Tier trinkets. The locket is a better Focus Ring, and the gunpowder is at least a side grade to ancestor's candle (though, imo, 5 Dodge is not as good as 5% damage, 10% stress and -20% stun resist are a wash, and 1 speed is usually negligible but still there).
Hear me out, endless harvest. Houndmaster solo stress healer, flagellant solo healer. Flagelants main weakness is he cant heal himself, whoch the houndmaster with huskfang whistle solves by guarding him constantly. the houndmasters weakness is one person getting stressed out, which the flag solves with endure. Together they are actually pretty good!
Great video! I would listen to you talking about trinkets and other stuff for hours on end, and I think there is audience for such type of content (thousands of people watch Otzdarva who sometimes makes 6-hour long videos). I believe that detailed explanation for why trinket X is X-tier is very usefull for newer players because many things that are semi-obvious for experienced players is hard to get for a newer player. p.s. Vestal's Tome of Holy Healing seems to be missing or I'm just blind
@@ShuffleFM So where do you put it then? I used it quite often it's about A or high-B tier for me, the loss of hp is big but I think the bonus healing usually tend to compensate for it.
A comment about Hunters Talons. I’ve noticed that the 50% more food consumption actually translates to an extra food item consumed during camping bu no extra food item consumed when a hunger check occurs. Perhaps the game doesn’t round up 1.5 food to 2 food the way it does healing or dmg (e.g 2 dmg attack +10%dmg =2.2dmg which in turn gets rounded up to 3 dmg. Same goes for healing.)
I will be a Guardian Shield advocate and say that it works greatly when teamed up with strong healer and two solid damage dealers like for example 1-leper 2-abomination 3-vestal 4-MAA with the shield. The Man himself usually takes his cry, guard, command and bolster and drives any fight to the win very noticeably with his control over the battlefield. Best second trinket is usually one with speed boost to land his first cry/buff/guard asap. For me it's also thematically appealing, because the Man in such teams is like a wise general, tipping the balance in favor of the team. Hope you'll find my point constructive :) P.S. It's also useful to take someone to scout and provide some mobility to keep our general at the backline consistently. And keep in mind that I personally do not play torchless, so I didn't consider such possibilities.
I found your point very constructive :) There are a couple fights I do like rank 4 MAA on. It's pretty good on any high damage fight that requires heavy guard spam. Something I'd add is guardian shield + reclaim from flagellant is incredibly powerful if you haven't tried it. Thanks again for supporting our general.
For some time now I'm mainly using MAA with Guardian's Shield and it works okay if you plan ahead, but don't take him to in the Weald with that setup neither fight against the Shambler, unless you have a good dance team.
42:10 that tambourine is alright but its best used with the tasting cup for affliction cleansing for certian runs. You could argue that the ancestor's scroll is a better alternative and I wouldn't argue back
This team comp in the Cove. Guardian shield comp Position 1: Flagellant Position 2: Occultist Position 3: Houndmaster Position 4: Man-at-arms I figured I would try to make use of man at arms very rare charm, so put him in the back with all his support skills, and the boots that give prot at the cost of speed. My occultist obviously has wyrd but he has the trinket that boosts damage vs eldritch, and ancestors coat to even his dodge back out since he's in position 2 Houndmaster has stress heal, both his bleed attacks, and his self heal just in case, with damage trinkets, and speed lowering trinkets so the occultist can go first with vulnerability hex, then go ham the next turns with his stabby stab/stun, depending which is necessary, flag is there because his bleed synergizes with all the other bleed, and having a secondary healer that does good damage is nice. His trinkets are focused on his survival (eternity collar, and recovery charm)
The one use I have for guardian shield is against the prophet, so you can just sit in back and guard whoever the rubble will fall on while occultist and arbalest spam heaps on you. It’s also fun to do that strat with the mirror shield.
Quick little sidenote: a lot of downsides for good trinkets can be offset with quirks. Any character that has Steady (-10% stress) on them suddenly gains a net 0 in extra stress and they just get the bonuses of the ancestral trinkets with no penalties. Same with stuff like HP and resists. You love the Ethereal Cross but you think the loss of HP is scary? Slap it on someone with Tough (+10% max hp). Something gives you less bleed and blight resistance? Slap it on someone with Clotter (+15% bleed resist) or Thick Blooded (+10% blight resist). Quirk management is so important not just for the combat aspect but also in interacting with trinkets. Perfect example is Dismas Head; huge damage bonus but heavy penalties: get Steady and Tough on the same character and suddenly it's a whole lot better.
Bit late to the party but wanted to mention I've been having some pretty cool success with the virtue chance trinkets if I need to bring high stress units into a dungeon. This has been most useful when doing apprentice missions later into the game when you don't have many low levels (aboms ones still pretty trash tho)
I gotta say Glittering Spaulders deserve a solid A by itself, as it's basically an unconditional no downsides 15% prot, -15% stress and some free move resist, which is pretty nice, especially if you dont run Lance (not sure why you wouldnt) however the set together, is pretty meh, since they directly conflict, you dont want to have a tank crusader healing, you want a tank crusader that uses bulwark and is in the front row stunning/bonking everything, especially because you can put healer Crus in any slot, and you don't want to limit your frontliners if you're going to have a dedicated healer Crusader. Edit: I think my case for saying the -2 speed doesnt matter is pretty clear, but just in case, unless you have something like luminous, Quick Reflexes, On guard, Warrior of light that boosts speed and damage(which I do, and I gotta say he is a MONSTER), you're not going to really care about the -2 speed since his base speed is absolute shit.
He recieved a text at 31:48 you can hear the notification in the background, he even stops for a moment during the making of this video to check said text
While I understand your reasoning behind the tier, I find a few placements relatively odd. In particular, even though the antiquaria is built mostly for dodge, the 25% prot from the Carapace Idol for no downsides to me in high level dungeons where enemy's acc is increased seems better than 10 dodge, and if you add another prot trinkets as for example barristan's head or heavy boots you can safely use her without someone else's or her turns for a shield
I don't see how any Common that's straight upside can be sell tier. If it's one of the first things you get and it does literally anything you're going to use it at least once or twice.
Shuffle! You just gave me an idea with Occultist mega stun trinket and Man at arms 4th position shield trinket! Man at arms - Arbalest - Occultist- Crussader Man at arms would do his buffs, protections, Occultist stun and mark, Arbalest shot and bandage as off healer, crusader do dmg, stress heal. I have not tested yet, but maybe it might just work!
For Cuirboilli (SB); I found it super good in X2 SB dance teams; for setting up Impale Spam. Worked pretty well for endless harvest with either Jestal or Even a jester/ heal-sader (if you are feeling brave and want to max damage)
for rank 4 MAA you guard your berserker mask + vengance leper then spam command till everything dies, the thing is you don't use the shield, you want stress- and speed+
Top 3 favorite quotes from this vid: number 1: even if it DOES take an actual act of god to kill leper or at least get him to death's door 49:26 number 2: I'm just gonna leave it here. you know what? fight me! [goes on joker rant] 58:00 number 3: [tired] Virtuous Chalice? That's sell tier, that's cringe bro... 1:14:15 honorable mention: I don't want this video to be an hour and a half long (it has been mentioned before)
Bola is actually useful in the ruins/warrens because if both moves proc it effectively pulls the rank 3 enemy to the front while also doing decent damage. It's especially effective versus swinetaurs because it lets you force them to the front without having to deal with their high move resist. However I agree that it's not good enough to take an arbalest over another hero with a good move skill or to equip the sturdy greaves
You don't need to run vestal in rank 2 with the Crimson Court set. Salacious diary is just good, and I treat the atonement beads as a pure bonus to stun. The stun bonus makes her a monster, getting double stuns, giving her a lot more value for when your team is already healthy.
I see you hearting my comments so it's Guardian Shield time! MAA and a Jester is pretty good if you're going for the god tier Finale; the idea being you hit Guard on Jester, and then spam Command for 75% damage and 24% crit, while he spams Battle Ballad for whatever he gets, I don't feel like looking it up lol. Having MAA in the back spamming this, as well as just by virtue of being rank 4 means he IS hit less, but only needs that little prot for living, and a supplemental heal like Crusader is even better without a Crusader trinket needed. Also 3 MAA and a Jester for the Heart of the World-
@@ShuffleFM Yeah, it's pretty nice; afaik, my current setup of a Deadly locked Jester with +7% crit dice, stacked with Battle Ballads Finale and Command buffs nigh on guarantees the crit. The front 2 can be anyone, like Crusader who can off heal the MAA without needing to sacrifice damage for a heal trinket, or a Flag who can regen them for far more. It could be both even; with just enough frontline damage to ensure an early Finale might finish things before turn 7ish.
The antiquarian set is the best CC set in the game. It transforms antiquarian from a more gold class to a major utility keystone that can do decent damage. No other CC set transforms a class like the antiquarian set does.
Pretty good video thanks for the hard work. Also you only missed the Tome of Holy Healing, but I would guess its a B or sell, cuz -15% hp is so big. In fact, I lost my first vestal while she was using this trinket and I selled it instantly after
Guardian Shield is good vs Vvulf and Prophet where you just bring your MaA only to spam Guards left and right and occasionally buffing party. Otherwise it is pretty trash because of 4 rank move set just as you said, but for these two particular boss fights I quite like it a lot.
Every time I evaluate how good a class trinket is, I compare it to a generic trinket that would be appropriate for them to wear, like an ancient scroll, and I ask myself "would I rather take the ancient scroll or this thing", and if I can pick a generic trinket for both slots the class trinket is an instant sell. I vendor like 80% of the stuff you put up in the tier list, and I don't need it to win, and I do use the gold.
Whatever gets you the win. Although even if selling stuff is a thing, that doesn't invalidate the power level of those trinkets. Sometimes you don't find the ones you want.
Maaaybe Guardian shield could work very well for Bosses where you need to guard? Since you will be guarding a lot with Man-at-Arms anyway. You can unequip it for the rest of the dungeon, and then put it on for the Boss
4th rank singing man at arms with guardian shield is okay for buff leper teams. He unfortunately does in 3 moves what battle ballad does, so the pacing gets weird but then again I guess you can also bring jester and he also damage boosts whoever he protects which is neat cause it also bypasses leper's self marks. Something like MaA, PD,occ, leper The only other comp I see would be stacking bellow and HWM grapple shot debuffs for extra crit, which needless to say, aren't the best moves.
I like bloody herb, it makes PD great in the warrens unlike others characters that specializes in Blight Damage, and you need someone like PD to cure creepling diseases.
I think people get way too hung up on Mirror Shield's reflect. The way I look at it, it's unconditional boost to two of the most important stats for that class, and then bit of extra chip damage on the top of it. That's already solid A even without the reflect. And the reflect imo isn't worth changing your priorities. You still don't wanna get hit more. Most of the incoming hits aren't gonna threaten MAA with damage, they have other factors like stress, dots, debuffs and diseases that slowly wear him down. And even when you once in a while reflect a massive hit, like a tree branch, congrats, you took 40 damage, are almost on death's door and the enemy that has triple your hp took 13 damage which is hardly even a scratch. It's gonna take several turns to heal that back. Just abandon that thought and think it as your riposte dealing couple of extra damage on average. That's not game breaking, but with the other two benefits, it's also nothing to scoff at. And especially in the mode it's intended for it's gonna rack up hundreds of points of damage over the course of that run
Guardian Shield makes vvulf an extremely easy boss fight, he can crit you with the bomb every turn and MAA won't die if vestal is in your team. That's pretty much its value tho
Bright tambourine is broken. It's basically the same value as an Ancestor's Scroll + Aria box on one trinket slot. A blue trinket having the same value as 2 trinkets- one Ancestral, one Very Rare; both dropped by specific enemies, is insane. Edit: The issue with double stun Occultist is that he doesn't have the accuracy. On Champion, most stress casters have 30+ dodge and Hands from the Abyss has 110 accuracy. That's a 15% chance to miss. On Crones (40 dodge) and Viragos (50 dodge) the problem is even worse
about the Fanged Spear Tip, pair it with the Spectral Speartip to offset the damage penalty of the first one and capitalize on Marks in any mark party. i've used it quite a lot particularly in the Sunward Isles. Also it sucks that the CC sets for the Jester and the Flagellant are so bad, like the Jester is my favorite class and the concept of the trinkets is so cool, but they really did him dirty particularly with the Tyrant's Fingerbone like WTF
The flagellant set at least makes some sense. Jester I have no idea what they were going for. Jester can boost his own speed and solo gives him a ton of dodge, so the fingerbone has no point when what he really needed was a form of damage.
@@ShuffleFM i basically only use Critical Dice, Bright Tambourine (specially in the Courtyard and Farmstead) and sometimes the Bloody Dice. There's no reason to use any other trinket except ocasionally the Dirge for the Devoured, which is awesome and kinda makes up for the CC set being so bad, but still, what a missed opportunity.
The game gives you and the monsters a free +5% accuracy, like a natural 20 in dnd. If your accuracy for an attack during battle vs an enemy reads 95, you're capped and will always hit :)
@@ShuffleFM oh, ok. Yeah, that I read on the wiki, but didn't think it was the ACC cap you mentioned. But you can't know that in advance, can you? For example, does my arbalest/leper need an ACC trinket against a certain boss (or just in a dungeon) or can I just give them more damage, how do you min-max that? Is there any rule of thumb here?
Don’t very Rare trinkets sell for more than the trapezohedrons though (3,750 vs 3,500)? So you actually make a profit off of selling it and refinding it unless you get the gem stacking district, making it space-inefficient.
The only time I've ever used Guardian's Shield is for fighting champion Prophet. For that fight it's actually really good. I would consider it almost as good as dodge stacking with crystal dust bolster spam/antiquarian vapors. Other than that, it's almost useless imo.
The reason im not a huge man-at-arms fan is cause he just has way too many things to do. I want to guard, i want to buff. I want riposte with guard, but i also want to stun folks... bellow is good if you're running a rank 4 man-at-arms, but at that point you have a character that does not deal any damage at all... it only works in a couple boss fights and thats it. He sucks at normal fights because he runs out of things to do (weirdly enough) you can only do so many bellows before starting to wonder "why not a plague doctor/ arbalest/ vestal in this party"
What do you think about PD/Ocultist orange trinkets (that give super good stats but increase stress) with -20% stress book? Its less stats, but they come with no penalty
I think the trinkets are great and - stress is good. PD doesn't quite need it since she can blinding gas most stress casters and prevent a lot of stress from hitting her. Occultist crits all the time so it doesn't matter much for him either outside of camp skills.
Okay so abomination can have a stun chance (if crit) of 185 with Broken Key Now add the padlock of transference and you got 205 stun chance Absolutely broken and you can stun so many enemies to the point where you can kill enemies while they’re stun locked
Rank 2 Occultist is slept on so hard. You can take him on farmstead and stun the sleeper out of half his big stress/damage build up while not compromising the Jester and Vestal rank 3/4 party order.
I unironically run jester MaA occultist leaper for farmstead and consistently get my memories with basically zero stress at the end: MaA is a superb support in 3 and spamming bolster at the cost of one shard dust is basically op, since you get stress reduction and the biggest downside of using it is gone. You can run occultist as a pure stunner (demon cauldron+vial of sand) and occasionally heal the damage the leaper and MaA take
@@joebizs it also allows to go super light on accuracy trinkets. Hell my leaper never misses and is running a berserks charm because i found it during the mission. +40-50 ac is nothing to sneeze about
Fantastic video, though I have two cents to add on a few of the trinkets. Shieldbreaker trinkets: These are the only trinkets I strongly disagree with you about. She's the best DPS in the game, by quite a lot, and even without Serpent Sway, she's a long ways from a glass cannon, so stacking defensive trinkets on her is just a waste. If it doesn't boost DMG, CRIT, or maybe SPD (depending on team comp/dungeon), it's probably not worth taking. Even the Spectral Speartip (by far the most useful of her class trinkets) has stiff competition from the generics, IMO. Dirge for the Devoured: It's S-tier, definitely, but hardly Unfair. Unless you're post-economic, Laudanum is only worth a loot slot in the Farmstead, which happens to be the only place where you're pretty much always better off spamming Battle Ballad than attacking. The Dirge should collect dust unless you expect low light or you're planning on bringing the Tambourine, too. Guardian's Shield: The problem with this trinket and rank-4 MAA is that he's too slow to effectively buff/debuff in short battles (which 99% of battles are) and guarding isn't useful enough to be a full-time job outside a couple boss battles. Since Battle Ballad-spam works great for Jester, there's no reason Command+Bellow spam couldn't work for MAA if he could get the speed. IMO, this trinket would be S-tier if one of the other buffs was traded for "+3 SPD if in position 4." Petrified Skull: I find this to be an amazingly good trinket for DPS-Occultists fighting Champion-level Eldritch bosses, as it makes them sturdy enough to actually spend more time attacking than healing. I suspect it would work relatively well for stun-Occultists in the Cove or Darkest Dungeon, too, though the Vial of Sand+Demon's Cauldron combo is probably better outside of boss fights. Blasphemous Vial: Yeah, the buffs are great, but that's balanced against the highest stress debuff of any trinket. For Champion level dungeons, it only works with a Jester to stress heal or as a two-slot solution with a -Stress trinket to compensate. At that point, its supremacy may become questionable, depending on which trinkets you have access to. Vestal's CC Set: First, Bonk Vestal is pretty awesome in the Ruins (her bonk has bonus damage vs Unholy), for team comps that may require a sturdy front-line healer (eg, if you have a stun-Houndmaster you may need to move back to stress heal), and for coping with shuffling. Second, imagine that there was a Vestal class trinket that gave you +35% Stun/Debuff for -10% Virtue, and then ask yourself, "Would I use that trinket?" Well, that's exactly what the Atonement Beads are if you use the Salacious Diary and never, ever bonk.
Vestal set does have a nice upside for regular healbots I agree. DPS occultist is fun, it's a shame his accuracies aren't higher. SB is still incredibly brittle early on, even with the blocks. Between the armor pen and blight I don't think she has an overwhelming need to stack double damage trinkets until mid and late game imo. Blasphemous is perfectly fine with the stress boost because PD is fast enough to stun backline enemies and mitigate the stress she takes. After that you're left with stuff like ghouls and they are just jerks. Thanks for the in depth comment :)
I actually hoped for MaA mirror shield to be high on the their list because I love the item, but learning that it reflects post mitigation damage and your explanation just made me realize how dumb having dodge on that item is too
The way I've come to think of it since this video is that the damage reflection is a nice bonus. Otherwise it's good for the defensive stats alone, including the dodge :)
@@ShuffleFM Its one of the rare items that give stun resist. Since stun removes guard, it actually is pretty good if using MAA to guard someone. Guard, riposte and reflection combo means two characters either cannot be hit, if hit, not stunned and attacker punished. Not sell tier for sure. I'd put in on A tier.
Tbh the MAA mirror shield is a very good item. The reflection damage isn’t meant to be the primary point of the item, it’s just giving a bit of a boost to the defensive stats
Crime Lord Molars is easily S if not Unfair! Since the bountyhunter always wants to attack marked targets and usually always has a houndmaster on team, who will attack before him and most likely apply bleed, it is just +40% damage on top of his +90%, wich absolutely nukes some stronger enemies! The stun is pretty irrelevant most of the times but comes in handy sometimes. In general the bounty hunter deals probably the most damage out of all the characters, he just needs ALOT of setup but honestly this trinket is just the definition of busted for him imo, because it is just incredibly overstatted and he mainly just wants wants huge damage buffs and ACC, the ACC beeing easily provided in combination with the occultists mark! (Also i think that Mask of the Timeless is counter productive for him because it gives him speed and him going first usually is very bad for him if you play him for damage, since he needs setup)
@@ShuffleFM I mean you could defintly play him as a stunner, he got really good tools for it, but honestly at that point you could just play plague doctor who is better in that role in every way except maby party composition...
IMO Sacred Scroll is rated too high @ A tier. I don't remember the generic healing buff trink, but it has nearly the bonus; and doesn't hurt my stun chance. I literally have never used this trinket, and can not really imagine a situation where I would.
When I say that I mean stunning the same enemy a second time. When enemies recover from stun they get a bonus to stun resist for a turn to prevent chain stuns, but occultist can get his stun chance so high that most enemies can be stunned twice by him.
Also I agree that Bright Tamborine is overrated, but I still argue that it’s S tier due to the fact that when you are playing full light or are headed to the Courtyard/Farmstead, it ensures Jester can handle almost all incoming stress damage. The overrated aspect comes into play because so many players pigeonhole Jester into a stress healer when he’s so much more.
It would be really strong. It might be overpowered at that point. I think a way to make it a bit better as it is right now would be to give it 5 or 10 accuracy alongside the stress reduction. This would favor a transformed playstyle more.

I actually really like it when your videos go on for a long time. It's very relaxing to listen to you ramble about a game that I love!
Honestly. I find the tone of your voice soothing to have in the background while crunching at work.
As for the long format, I think it's a strength rather than a detriment. Especially because you've created timestamps/chapters. It's all good.
I like how HWM has a very strong CC set but also has one of the best crystalline trinkets but that no one really talks about.
i don't even bother with the cc set i directly go with the crystaline trinket because how busted it is
use the 3 trinket mod and get all 3

I forgot it used to be blue! That makes sense.
I dont know if you keep up with comments in old videos, but i did have an idea to make MaA with Guardian Shield usable.
Bear in mind, I'm no pro, so, please do correct me if I'm wrong:
Grave Robber, MaA, Vestal, (hellion for rank4 access? Flag/crusader for stress management?)
Grave Robber, MaA, Jester, Occultist/flagellant
(This variation has stress heals, hp heals but lacks immediate R4 access).
Logic goes like this:
MaA's kit on #4 is trash. But he can do everything he wants on #3.
Turn 1: GR goes for Lunge.
MaA is forced into #4. Buffs/ guards.
Jester gets pushed to #3. Ballad.
Turn 2: GR shadowfades
MaA can get Riposte up.
Jester is in #2, bleed something.
Turn3: Lunge
MaA: guard
Jester: songs and bleeds available.
T4: shadowfade, refresh riposte.
With this setup, MaA could have 100% uptime on riposte, plus 50% uptime on shield prot+dodge. And healing can be directed, so nearly 100% uptime on heals received.
The Vestal variation would see her stun from #3 on turn 1,
Turn 2 = bonk or carpet
Turn 3 = back to stun.
I love occultist honestly. Seeing 40hp heal on a crit is a big dopamine rush. Rank 1 is where I usually put him.
Sounds like a plan :)
Thank you!
Pair the Dirge and the Tyrant’s fingerbone, and start the battle with solo and you have a nearly unhittable jester that dirk stabs like a frontline damage dealer.
Thanks for the support crusader idea, is surprisingly useful for a healing option within dance comps
The worst thing that could happen to someone is that they install dota. Actually, LoL is first, with dota being a close contender
Oh i've been looking forward to this!

Shuff: "I know I'm talking pretty quick, I apologize"
Me: (listening at double speed) "No prob man"
Hear me out, endless harvest.
District tier list next 🙏
Great video! I would listen to you talking about trinkets and other stuff for hours on end, and I think there is audience for such type of content (thousands of people watch Otzdarva who sometimes makes 6-hour long videos). I believe that detailed explanation for why trinket X is X-tier is very usefull for newer players because many things that are semi-obvious for experienced players is hard to get for a newer player.
p.s. Vestal's Tome of Holy Healing seems to be missing or I'm just blind
Nope, I actually forgot the tome lol
@@ShuffleFM So where do you put it then? I used it quite often it's about A or high-B tier for me, the loss of hp is big but I think the bonus healing usually tend to compensate for it.
@@АндрейПавлов-ы5з A tier. It's a lot of raw healing output, but like you said that downside is big.
100% correct
I will be a Guardian Shield advocate and say that it works greatly when teamed up with strong healer and two solid damage dealers like for example 1-leper 2-abomination 3-vestal 4-MAA with the shield. The Man himself usually takes his cry, guard, command and bolster and drives any fight to the win very noticeably with his control over the battlefield. Best second trinket is usually one with speed boost to land his first cry/buff/guard asap. For me it's also thematically appealing, because the Man in such teams is like a wise general, tipping the balance in favor of the team. Hope you'll find my point constructive :)
P.S. It's also useful to take someone to scout and provide some mobility to keep our general at the backline consistently. And keep in mind that I personally do not play torchless, so I didn't consider such possibilities.
I found your point very constructive :)
There are a couple fights I do like rank 4 MAA on.
You could argue that the ancestor's scroll is a better alternative and I wouldn't argue back
I disagre with some of these SO MUCH. Waiting for the future content

This team comp in the Cove. Guardian shield comp
Position 1: Flagellant
Position 2: Occultist
Position 3: Houndmaster
Position 4: Man-at-arms
I figured I would try to make use of man at arms very rare charm, so put him in the back with all his support skills, and the boots that give prot at the cost of speed.
They should be at least A I agree.
44:00 for when you want to re-enact the stabbing of Caesar.
I don't see how any Common that's straight upside can be sell tier. If it's one of the first things you get and it does literally anything you're going to use it at least once or twice.
You can certainly use it if you have nothing else, but in some cases the extra gold early on can be more helpful.
Never heard of Bonk Vestal until now and I couldn't help but giggle at the name
Shuffle! You just gave me an idea with Occultist mega stun trinket and Man at arms 4th position shield trinket!
Man at arms - Arbalest - Occultist- Crussader
Man at arms would do his buffs, protections, Occultist stun and mark, Arbalest shot and bandage as off healer, crusader do dmg, stress heal. I have not tested yet, but maybe it might just work!
Sounds like it might actually work
For Cuirboilli (SB); I found it super good in X2 SB dance teams; for setting up Impale Spam.
Cant wait for dd2, but im afraid about the 3d.

Also 3 MAA and a Jester for the Heart of the World-
Nice way to get around having ballad up when you use solo. Though I guess you could do both
@@ShuffleFM Yeah, it's pretty nice; afaik, my current setup of a Deadly locked Jester with +7% crit dice, stacked with Battle Ballads Finale and Command buffs nigh on guarantees the crit.
In fact, I lost my first vestal while she was using this trinket and I selled it instantly after
my leper has the thing from the stars acc trait so i can play with the trinkets and go full damage
I hope that you working on ancestor quotes tier list😏
Maaaybe Guardian shield could work very well for Bosses where you need to guard? Since you will be guarding a lot with Man-at-Arms anyway. You can unequip it for the rest of the dungeon, and then put it on for the Boss
4th rank singing man at arms with guardian shield is okay for buff leper teams. He unfortunately does in 3 moves what battle ballad does, so the pacing gets weird but then again I guess you can also bring jester and he also damage boosts whoever he protects which is neat cause it also bypasses leper's self marks.
Something like MaA, PD,occ,leper
The only other comp I see would be stacking bellow and HWM grapple shot debuffs for extra crit, which needless to say, aren't the best moves.
Trinkets Assemble!
Guardian Shield makes vvulf an extremely easy boss fight, he can crit you with the bomb every turn and MAA won't die if vestal is in your team. That's pretty much its value tho
Heard your advice, took it ! Week 5 Blasphemous Vial on Necromancer, and I was only a little scared xD

I love the crimson court highwayman set, ever since I got it I just instant drop on any hwm I have on a team
Hi! You keep talking about the ACC cap, can someone please explain what that is? Couldn't find it on wiki. Thanks :)
That's what I thought! I got comments saying not to sell Barristan's head so I trusted them >_>
@@ShuffleFM the wiki says collector and madman trinkets sell for 2250, so the puzzling trapezohedrons are better.
@@Oi-sg9ue Thanks for clarifying
Okay so abomination can have a stun chance (if crit) of 185 with Broken Key
Now add the padlock of transference and you got 205 stun chance
Absolutely broken and you can stun so many enemies to the point where you can kill enemies while they’re stun locked
1:34 I don't want an hour and a half video, so I made it an hour twenty four minutes and fifty four seconds. Take THAT you extra 306 seconds!!!!! lol
You can run occultist as a pure stunner (demon cauldron+vial of sand) and occasionally heal the damage the leaper and MaA take
@@edoardonardin8612 Damn replacing vestal with man at arms is such a good idea, I will have to try it.
@@joebizs it also allows to go super light on accuracy trinkets. Hell my leaper never misses and is running a berserks charm because i found it during the mission. +40-50 ac is nothing to sneeze about
@@edoardonardin8612 I run dismas head with ancestors pen for better flat damage.
Rank 2 Occultist is definitely my favorite way to use him, especially if you take Shieldbreaker/Crusader as a rank 3.
IMO, this trinket would be S-tier if one of the other buffs was traded for "+3 SPD if in position 4."
Petrified Skull: I find this to be an amazingly good trinket for DPS-Occultists fighting Champion-level Eldritch bosses, as it makes them sturdy enough to actually spend more time attacking than healing.
The molars could be S, it is a lot of damage. I like the mask for support type BH who would like to go early and mark for others or stun and move etc.
Is Tome of Holy Healing missing? :(
I'm guessing it works pretty well, healing output for max hp
Check the pinned comment :P
@@ShuffleFMAaah, thank you!
For some reason I had to go way down the comments to see the pinned one, but now I've found it
Can we have a screenshot in the end with the revision + rest? just for quick reference
where tome of holy healing for the vestal?
Great insight.
I would put man-at-arm crimson court trinkets ABOVE unfair tier . They are strongest trinket set in the game no doubt.
What do you mean by 'double stunning' with the occultist?
When I say that I mean stunning the same enemy a second time. When enemies recover from stun they get a bonus to stun resist for a turn to prevent chain stuns, but occultist can get his stun chance so high that most enemies can be stunned twice by him.
Any reason why you skipped over time of holy healing?
Think I pinned the comment explaining it lol
@@ShuffleFM oh my bad I’ll have a look!
1:35
Well…I gots bad news for you babe…
Also I agree that Bright Tamborine is overrated, but I still argue that it’s S tier due to the fact that when you are playing full light or are headed to the Courtyard/Farmstead, it ensures Jester can handle almost all incoming stress damage. The overrated aspect comes into play because so many players pigeonhole Jester into a stress healer when he’s so much more.
Today I realized that raiders talisman is prob a reference to tomb raider 😮 I thought grave robber was just a regular raider😂
Ugh watched this and in week 20 first play through. I missed demons cauldron quest reward and it hurts my soul
Do you think restraining padlock would be balanced if it just completely removed transformation stress
It would be really strong. It might be overpowered at that point. I think a way to make it a bit better as it is right now would be to give it 5 or 10 accuracy alongside the stress reduction. This would favor a transformed playstyle more.
