on top of that there's different wiring standards between TRRS implementations, some older devices use microphone on sleeve, some on next-to-sleeve ring, some - vice-versa. Middlesex is no longer a proper county by the way. It lives on as a sort of folk memory and some people still use it in some addresses like that, but today they would have the borough name rather than 'Middlesex' - which encompassed the historical City of London (including East London), which only occupied the far south eastern corner of a huge area. The rest was essentially (then) rural areas West and North of the city. These are all to a lesser or greater extent part of the city proper and so the country of Middlesex is now completely obsolete - somehow appropriate for this product!

it looks like a fisher-price toy.👍
Watching this from Middlesex, UK. Not too far from that address ;)
I had a really nice stereo, genuinely good sound and construction with a hidden space for an iPhone/ipod touch, well, lost that phone like I always do. Kind of ruined it, couldn't stop be annoyed by it's redundancy
These are on ebay I yet have my tape recorder from radio shack in a box i dont think i ever used it.
Could be gutted for some sort of other audio project I guess?
my thoughts exactly... but would it be worth the price for the parts?
where do you find all that?
7:55. is that Object Madness intro?
I'm at least fortunate and broke enough to own a 2016 Android smartphone with a headphone jack and microUSB. Enough said.
Same. I have a ZTE ZFone FIVE from TracFone that I use as a media player. Gets about 7 hours of music from only 10% battery, so I can comfortably play music for 3 days on a charge.
I am more broke as I've Galaxy J7 2015. But hey it works very good.
My Motorola, which is currently about eight months old, still has a phone jack. It's a moto g(7).
VectraQS I have same phone
I own a 2019 android smartphone with a headphone jack, but usb c.
I think it would cost 80. USA dollars in 2012 when iPhone 5 came out, that's expensive for what looks like "As Seen on TV " crap.
Me at 2:41 : yessss 😆
I would look cool if there was a phone App to virtualize a cassette tape playing with hubs or spools working while in-use inside the compartment
u could find a youtube video with that and put it on repeat
7:50 Wait, smartphphone apps have adds in them that interrupt your music? So glad I don't use of of those!
It looked like he was playing music from RUclips, which of course has plenty of ads.
Other than Spotify and other radio type apps, no. Some have banner ads though, or more commonly just try to push a paid, fully featured version.
How are you able to find new stuff to review now that all of the thrift stores and electronics stores are closed? I know there is online shopping but I still would like to know, also I love all of your videos.
I have a backlog of stuff I meant to do videos about but never got around to them before.
Hilarious but companies need to pull out of China.
What i can't stand is how much I phones aren't as user friendly and many products made for them . Android especially any ive had never needed special software to get pictures off of it to a computer. There's iphone you need iTunes yeah no thanks I never owned one my dad does and friends but Anyway. Thank you for making a video like this be safe hope we get back to normal soon vs the craziness freaking out panic stricken people.
It could work with iPods too not just iPhone or iPod Touch like my daily used iPod Nano 5 Gen.
im surprised that it doesnt use a nokia bl5c battery, i remember having a mp3 player which used a bl5c battery, it was good, you could get spare batteries real cheap
I'm still rocking an iPhone 4
Wait, where did the ads know you are mentioning "Middlesex". What a good accidental ads
If you're in need and interested, I have an iphone 4 and a 5s that I would donate to the channel to use in this if you like.
The case looks to be copied from a Panasonic RQ-309DS or RQ-209S.
They would have been better off making this an actual cassette player.
You could use an ipod touch
I bet it's a Soviet product because it tells a lie right in front of the cover hahahaha
Seeing that LG smartphone I have mine looks similar. Mine is a straight talk carrier but Tracphone. LG Rebel 4. I love it its great. Should have stayed with LG back whrn i had a Cingular wireless AT&T LG cu400 flip phone. Better then Samsung and ive had Samsung s3mini s4 s6 active and only one I liked was the s6 active. But this one still great. Wish I got the stylo 5.
This isn’t even any cheaper or more convenient than the real thing. You might as well just spend the ~$60 and get an actual tape player and some blank tapes to record to 🤦♀️
I don't think so! I hate it when people make fake things like this. I prefer the real thing.
No that would be $50 USD since it was sold by Nordstrom (see price tag on package). Last I checked Nordstrom has 0 locations outside the Americas.
