David, that is a glorious video, in every possible respect!!! 🎄🖖 [Also, until that video, I never realized that Edith and Jim walk in front of Floyd's Barber Shop!!!!!!]
Nicely done. And a Merry Christmas to you too. Now that I've started getting the soundtrack releases, my project in the new year (once I've finished rereading the novelisations of the movies) will be to rewatch the season 1 episodes that didn't have original scores composed for them and identify exactly what the music credit should have been. I've mentioned before that in season 1, episodes without original scores just said "Music Composed & Conducted By Alexander Courage" and I know that there's some episodes where that's just wrong, so now I have the means to check what's what, I plan on doing so.
@@davidpage9355I'm guessing it'll be well into february before I start (I finished reading Wrath Of Khan last night, I'm going to estimate a week or two for each remaining book). I'm also predicting that some of the Courage credits will be accurate (The Menagerie is pretty much a foregone conclusion and I'm going to take a guess at Errand Of Mercy), but there'll be plenty where the credit should go to Fred Steiner or Sol Kaplan (in Kaplan's case it could bring his total credits to equal with Duning or even Fried). I'm not expecting there to be enough Gerald Fried cues in any individual episode to justify any credit to him, and I can say without watching that there definitely won't be enough Joseph Mullendore cues to warrant a credit. That's my predictions anyway. It'll be weird watching them for a purpose other than simple enjoyment, but at least it will be informative!
I was thinking was there a Christmas episode of TOS? Well, in "Dagger of the Mind" he gets on the transporter pad with Dr. Noel, who says, "Don't you remember the science lab Christmas party?" She then used the neural neutralizer to make Captain Kirk remember the Christmas party differently: he swept her off her feet and carried her to his quarters. Then Dr. Adams makes him believe Kirk's in love with her.
@@davidpage9355 Someone said the author of the episode wasn't trying much when they came up with the name Noel, but I hadn't noticed it until yesterday, either. She was a beauty, and I think the start of the trope of Kirk going to the transporter room and seeing a beautiful woman there. Cue the ooh-la-la music.
@@sandal_thong8631I remember reading in The Star Trek Compendium that the name was deliberate for that pun (and that in the first draft it was Yeoman Rand who went down to the planet with him, a wise change, it makes more sense for him to have a medical officer with him on this mission). It also said that another character in that episode, Lethe, was again very specifically named after the river whose waters cause you to forget your past life.
MASTERFULLY DONE!!!!
THANK U.
LIVE LONG and PROSPER, and stay blessed, EVERYONE.
Robert-

That's a great one. Funny, until right now I never put together the "Christmas" party and Helen "Noel" being in the same story!

God I miss the original Star Trek. Well as the Japanese say in their beautiful and ancient language: "Merry Christmas!"
