It was their best work but Mobb Deep, Dogg Pound, Westside Connection, and Onyx were the prominent rap groups around this time. Atlanta still hadn't found it's own sound too. That's what happened.
Salute to you for doing this video. It means alot to true Kriss Kross fans💯. This album was/is fire. I was 11 when it came out and it aged very well. The only track i never liked was the last song tonight's the night remix. Outside of that i knew/know every word on this entire album. This album influenced me a whole lot as a 11 year old boy. Shot out to Kriss Kross🤙🏿💯#The90s Rest in peace Chris Kelly 🙏🏿😔🕊️🕊️🕊️.
This album was smooth 1996 was a rough year every album was rough but this one 1996 is in the top 10 best years of rap I would say it's in like the top 5 at this point but it's definitely in the top 10 best years of rap
Is that just black people or in general because I guarantee you the asians and other folks from Asia Australia and so forth would show em some love we have a long way to go as people if, folks did me like that I would make the music present it to my ignant niccas, one sign of disrespect I'm thwarting this market and be an overseas Kat.

I believe that Kriss Kross were most likely having creative control issues working with Jermaine dupri because chris kelly no doubt wanted to do more writing for himself and his partner and no doubt wanted to work with other artists and producers and most producers take it as a slight if you want to do an album with other beats besides their's and I've experienced that personally so i think that made it to where the kriss kross knew they wanted to leave so they didn’t get the marketing and promotion they should've received. They should've at least had 4 singles and videos. They only had live and die for hip hop and tonight's the night as videos though. They definitely would've had better sales with at least a 2nd producer and more features but I'm sure dupri wanted all the writing credits and producer credits and money so they most likely didn’t have any say creatively.
I agree that this is their best album. Lack of promotion hurt it. They had a remix with Redman of Tonight's The Night. Which should've had a video. A definite lost opportunity. As far as the fans. I can't understand. Who were similar in age. Getting mad that they were growing up. Doing grown men things. They expected them to do Jump 2 and I Missed The Bus 2. At 17, 18? 🤦♂️. Another reason I believe hurt them was Da Bomb album. Too much of the G Funk sound and they're were trying to be little Snoop Doggs. Same with the Da Brats first album. I wish we'd gotten a chance to see the C connection album come to fruition. I imagine the songs are in JD's vault never to see the light of day.
My favorite Kris Kross album! I was ready for their breakout in 96! JD didn't believe in them because it didn't sell. Bad move in my humble opinion. They had so much potential. Could've been better than bow wow.
JD laced this album with 🔥. Me and my sister use to take turns listening to this album along with other albums that were out at the time. Should've had a follow up.
Classic album. Can play it straight thru. Maybe 1 or 2 songs can get skipped but they had 3-4 classic tracks Tonight’s the night 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Young rich & dangerous 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Live & die for hip hop 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Mackin ain’t easy🔥🔥🔥🔥 Some Cut Up 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Great video 💯👌🏾 but what do you mean "I wonder how JD got Kandy to do that" not only was she signed to the man but was also dating/fxcKin em and that's what caused division amongst the group Xscape

TBF it still went 'Gold' certified, the second single was a bad choice should have gone with 'Streets Ain't Right' (and possibly the version featuring Da Brat) or "Money, Power and Fame (Three Thangs Thats Necessities)". I will always remember when I got my copy at a HMV store in Brent Cross, London after school one evening, it came only in a plastic sleeve as they had misplaced the case or it got stolen so was heavily discounted, I couldn't have given a shit as I still bought it.🥲

Exactly if you listen to early Atlanta hip hop their instrumentals had a West Coast sound
@@tragiksituation yes, especially Kris Kross. They loved that g funk sound!
OutKast had their own sound tho, that's how Atlanta really got put on the map along with Goodie Mob

Kris Kross music always sounded like somebody else music.. 92 it was Treach,Ice Cube...93-96 was Snoop n DPG

Mackin’ Aint Eazy is my fav track on the album and gets play til this day in my car… i love the g-funk
Life and die for hip hop great song classic
That album was pretty good. But in my opinion. When Kriss Kross got a lil older. I think a lot of people didn't take them serious as artists.

They must have got black balled because they literally disappeared after 1996
They were on dj nabs album

Every song on this album could have been a single..it was that good
They should have had a video for some cut up. Or young rich and dangerous!!!
I'm glad somebody out here feel the same as I felt all these years. Nobody talk about this album.
I loved the direction they were going with becoming actual Macs/Playaz
The album was considered a flop. Most ppl were over Kris Kross at this time, especially when it was revealed JD wrote most of their songs.
It was a decent album in my opinion but I feel no one took them serious because people still looked at them as kid rappers
It's funny how people gloss over the fact that JD couldn't help Whodini get over, yet, they always say everyone he's made songs for became a hit.
Definitely my favorite album by them!
