I looked at doing that with mine, but mine has a chain for a top link. I really like that feature. I have a lot of hills with dips and climbs and the chain allows the unit to flex. I have a couple other implements that I may change so that I can hook them up using the quick hitch. That was a lot of work to get the quick hitch on but the work it saves in the long run made it worth it. Thanks Aaron. Full watch and a thumbs up. See you for the next one.
I have a finish mower and installed a "floating top link" to get it to work with QH, - allows the back end of the mower to move up and down on uneven terrain. As others have commented, you can also use a chain.
My quick hitch wouldn’t work with my brush hog, it only has plumbing black iron plumbing fittings. I wouldn’t expect any quick hitch to be set up for plumbing fittings. How about replacing the fitting with a proper bolt or pin.
At that time it took some getting used to but now I've figured out what I need to do and I can just back right up to it and hook up. I should make another video explaining more what I've learned
My 31HP(at the PTO) farmtrac handles a 6’ ultra light bush hog through some pretty thick stuff that my dads 44 HP (at the PTO) Kubota won’t I forgot to say the Kubota handles it with minor trouble and leaves uncliped weeds while mine cuts it down completely. It’s just because mine has lighter blades and are spinning much much faster. If my dads tractor was hooked up to it he could cut through brush 4” thick but it would break the hog
@@aaronstractorstuff7521 yes these little things do got lot of power. My little tractor would be unstoppable if it had 4WD. It’s got the front ribbed tires it won’t dig in but it’ll beat my dads tractor in a race any day of the week.

It took a few hours all together trying to figure out what to do and then doing it. Definitely worth it in the long run. Thanks Gary!

Good job. That is actually a galvanized pipe T fitting. Looks like a 1/2".
Pat's quick hitch best option.. works on any implement.. old or new
Yes PATs is a much more adaptable.
TrueDat Brother 👍 nothing old I had to cut grind to fit 💪 😤

Great job getting the brush hog to fit, maybe a hydraulic top link would help when you connect it. Have a great week Aaron 🙂🙋🏼♂️👍🏻
Thanks Luc!
Damn that probly takes longer than if it was hooked up right

Good video 🎉
Thanks!
Upper hole is John Deere spec, lower hole is SAE CAT 1 spacing. JD always had to be different.
Its not that hard to put on implements anyway. 15 minutes?
