The closest opportunity I have to experiencing the automatic engine shut-off sequence is with the transit buses we have featuring a BAE E-series HybriDrive. That and the LaFerrari is all too similar apart from the "obvious" aspects of a car and bus. Pretty cool features though.
In my neighborhood and I had no idea. I honestly had no idea the RR dealer in Westlake had a La Ferrari or P1. This town certainly wasn't like this when I was a kid.
What an incredible day. I personally would have to go with the Huayra. The attention to detail is unsurpassed. It has the AMG powerhouse of an engine. To me it truly is art in motion. All 6 are beyond words, but the Huayra has my heart.

trookers I couldn't agree more. The LaFerrari has an exhaust note I would never get tired of. V12 glory! And yes, he does a great job. Love how he never tries to play it off like it's not a big deal to be driving the cars he does. Shmee doesn't have a problem showing he's excited about something worth being excited about it.
P1 looks and sounds like a kit car compared to the LaFerrari imo. The LaFerrari is just on another level in terms of build quality and refinement plus the V12!
LaFerrari is definately my favourite supercar. Mainly because it has a n/a V12. But also because the EV capabilities are so limited that they don't spoil moments of excitement. Everytime you're at a stopsign you get the startup of a V12!! And it doesn't really drive electric apart from crawling speed :) The start up of the P1 isn't that exciting to hear in my opinion. Lacks the sound of a starter. Not saying the Porsche and the McLaren are bad. That would be insane. But for me; Ferrari is on the top of my list. In red please. It's so annoying that you say you hear the Wastegate noises... You are actually hearing the blow off valves or recirculation valves. The wastegate opens when it gets to the boost it is set to, so wastegate noises is just changing the exhaust note a bit while floored, and when you let off you don't hear anything from the wastegate. If you have an external dump from the wastegate, then your exhaust gets super loud while floored.. But this does not have an external dump.
@shmee150 I didn't hear any comparisons in straight speed between the two!? Not that that is the most important aspect of the cars but definitely one of the most exciting. There are a few videos of straight line races and the p1 pulling away from the la Ferrari but what are your impressions? If both met on the highway and hit the juice, would the p1 handily pull away from the la Ferrari ? What are your thoughts ?

The fluttering noise in the P1 is NOT from the wastegates. Wastegates never cause a fluttering noise. Automotive journalists/bloggers often seem to get this wrong. Wastegates don't really have any additional noise associated with them unless there is a screamer pipe, which would never exist on a production car. If you hear a 'woosh' noise in a turbo car when lifting off the throttle, the noise is coming from the blow-off valve. If instead you hear a fluttering noise, it means that the blow-off valve's pressure threshold hasn't been reached so the pressurised air behind the throttle (after it snaps shut) is forcing the turbo compressor wheel to slow down and make the fluttering noise.
