I just thought "what a weird comment. Antlers are dangerous? Maybe if that man made e-fence thing hadn't been there he wouldn't even be in that Situation."
And then my brain started to work again: ah! He ment dangerous for the rescuers and not the fact that a deer has antlers! 🙈😄
@Nea van R. Haha All good :D! Yeah, I have been working with deers here in the rescue for many years, and I just know you need to keep out of the way, to not get a nasty wound from antlers on a deer, when they are stressed like in this situation!
@@Nea-van-R. Actually, antlers are very dangerous. And deer cause the most injuries in zoos.
@@Nea-van-R. dude/chick antlers are super dangerous, one of the reasons you don't just walk up to a calm buck if you ever see one lol, if they get freaked they'll jump and impale you easily let alone the fact I believe they use them for defensive purpose but don't quote me on the last bit

I have seen pictures of very nasty wounds that were caused by antlers, and i even personally know a guy who got impaled by a buck.
So yeah, as i said, my brain wasn't working properly.. 😄
Whenever I feel disappointment in humanity I come to Dodo to renew my hope!

Yes, I love seeing the good endings. Poor deer was very lucky there were kind, compassionate people who cared! ❤️ After all it was a human made "trap" for which animals are not equipped.

It's interesting. It looks as though the deer eventually understood that the rescuers were there to help, not hurt. It looked like the deer stopped struggling (as much) as it felt its antlers were being freed. Well done rescuers.
Indestar Bright...Covering the eyes is widely used by animal care experts to calm all animals . People who work training falcon and hawks use a special hood when transporting.

#1 always keep a really good, sharp pair of scissors on you
#2 deer never say “thank you”. Unless you count waving their cute little white tail as they prance away!❤️
You never know when a sharp object may come in handy to save a life! A good pocket knife is a good thing to always have on you

yeah, scissors - because in the UK you can't have a knife, which would have had this animal free in two minutes. Less stress on both the rescuers and the deer.

Idk why you say they know people are there to help. Seems like most are incapable of understanding that and nothing about this deer's behavior indicated it knew what was happening at all. In fact, it struggled against them and ran off asap. I also don't know why it matters. Just like a child doesn't know their parent is helping them, many animals don't know when we're helping them. So what?

@GeorgeMore32 i am married but legally separated. I live in washington and my husband lives in idaho . I have one adopted son and one granddaughter who is 12. I’ve raised her since her birth. Her mom left her when she was 41/2 years of age. My husband left after 41 years of marriage and my son i kick him out when she was around 6 and fount burnt foil under his bed and that was hard but i had to do it.
@GeorgeMore32 we won’t divorce until my granddaughter can no longer be on my husbands medical insurance so we only have a legal separation at this time
