ive played over 2000+ hours of the monster hunter games, and i can say without a doubt that this video covers practically all the basic essentials for understanding the beginning of the game, and its basic mechanics. fantastic video, this gets the veterans seal of approval!
if i simply said "I play lots of monster hunter and this video is great" then it wouldnt really mean anything, would it? i stated the number of hours ive played over the course of this series as a whole, because then anyone that reads it would see it and go "This guy must know what hes talking about! i should pay attention to this video if its so highly praised"
I played 800 in MH4U and 600 in MH3. I've spend 80 hours in MHGen so far, and the game's been out a week and a half. I also have 365+ days played in several MMOs. It's far from inconceivable to have played the MH series for 2000+ hours. In fact, it's the norm for people who are really into a game series like MH.
As someone who has 500 hours in MH, this is a really great video that I can show my friends. MH is such a great series, but it can be impenetrable and that turns off so many people.
Hmm, I might buy this game tomorrow. This will be my first MH game then. I've always been interested. Gonna check some vids before falling asleep I guess.
if you love boss battles, and you love grinding, and you love doing both of those things while in co-op, and you enjoy SKILLED combat, this is the game for you. though itll take you 2-3 hours before you fight anything substantial, since its wise to do some early game gathering and tiny monster hunting before you fight a big guy, healing items, ammo, the essentials for practically every hunt. but once you get past those first couple of hours and get stuck in, youll be itching to fight your first monster.
I'm new to the Monster Hunter series. I just bought Generations yesterday so it's my first MH game. I'm probably gonna keep coming back to this video because this is clearly the work of a veteran. From a noob to a vet, thank you.
I just got Generations Ultimate for the switch and with World and Rise I beat those games in 2-3 days but I got MHGU almost a month ago and im still on 1 star hub quests. the monsters take 30-40 minutes to kill since their HP is not scaled for single player and no one in 2021 right after MHR has released wants to fight a low rank hub quest lagombi in MHGU so I really feel like I have just wasted $80 which sucks since I can't refund it so im really trying really hard to get into the game but rn it kinda sucks.

This video is EXCELLENT for beginner hunters. Very detailed & thoughtful, I wish there was a video like this when I was a noob in MH3U 4 years ago. I'm still grateful for the beginners guide that Projared made and his review too. 2200+ Hours of playing MH3U & MH4U, I'm still not tired of playing it. It's a little hard at first, but once you get the hang of things.........Dude......You'll be having so much fun, that it's insane. Just keep hunting. :)
Okay i just got this game yesterday and im having trying to get used to it. Yes this is my first MH game but im not giving up its a little different but i like it so far. The Longsword and Striker seems like my style so thanks for suggesting it for new comers i'll get on it once my N3DS i done charging. Thanks alot man this guide was so good
Small tip from a vet for anyone wishing to play long sword: watch out for your massive reach when performing the spirit blade combo when playing with friends. I’ve pissed off a lot of people by being careless of where I was standing when performing some combos. This is because you can trip your buddies. Stick to the edge of the tail at all times and make a habit to be responsible for getting it to come off. Leave the head for the hammer player. For all new players: In Gen this may be fine, I’ve heard, but in other games... A player mounting a monster is NOT a free opportunity to hit it as you can mess up the mount sequence.
i played tons of the mh4u but i must say This video should be watch by everyone who starts any of the MH games. Great and Helpfull video. Quick and on point.

This video helped alot because I spent over 300 hours in monster hunter 4 ultimate and never got into Generations and this helped me get into this game after a few months of not playing it.
I've been trying to get my friends into Monster Hunter, cuz more firends= more fun. I've been trying to explain to them all of this to them, and it seems daunting at first. This is such a better way to show them want they need to know so they can have more fun.
For those who are strugglin gathering items, just do what i do. Buy 5 pickaxes and bugnets and while you're out doing a quest gather resources while you look for the monster. This helped me alot in mh3 ultimate and mh4 ultimate.
Thanks for this. The last monster hunter game that i played is monster hunter 3rd portable and Im having hard time learning the new battle arts styles and mechanics of the new game.
Mh is one of those games where you feel rewarded for doing hard work. I started out with MHF2 on psp, it was quite hard and unforgiving at times but I felt rewarded. I now have Generations Ultimate, it brings back some memories and includes new hunter mechanics like mounting and styles which make hunting stylish and more fun.

Thank you so much this video helped a lot, i bought monster hunter 2 weeks ago and I'm still very confused when playing it so this has defiantly helped me out a bit more
One tip here, go do hub quests first, that’s what I did, I went to hub before touching the village quest, and got a good equipment set, now I started doing village, every quests were like under 5 minuets now
I love watching these videos even though I'm an experienced hunter because it brings me back to my beginner days were I wasn't all that good but everything was super cool
Great video, really informative, well-written and thus easy to watch through. Although it might be a little bit too much information spoken too fast for a player that never touched a MH game before in his life, so it might require several watch-throughs to fully take in all the information that is provided. Aside that this comes very close to perfect for a beginners guide i'd say.
This is a great video. Just got Monster Hunter Generations since Capcom was having a sale for $20, and this looks perfect to start with. Thank you very much!
THHHHHHHHHAAAAAAANK YOUUUUUUU! I understand portables are popular in japan, but theres just everything more to love about a better display and controls of console
I don't need this video because I've been playing MHGen for a while. I just watched to see how well you explained things. I'm a person who needs very specific details to understand things. But If I was a beginner, I would understand this completely! Nice job! Liking the Tigrex in the thumbnail, too. I love that monster (Not my favorite monster, but it's in the top 3.)
Thanks for the info, downloading MH Generations while I'm watching this video. Just beat all the quests in MH Rise what a great game. Getting a Monster Hunter fix because I am addicted this looks great and at 70% off, I can't wait to dive in. I'm starting with the long-sword because of your recommendation and it was my favorite weapon in rise.
My only complaint with the guide is the description of the Hunting Horn. The buffs are an additional gimmick of the weapon to boost the HORN’S dps and gameplay. It just so happens to also give them to teammates. Hunting Horn applies the most exhaustion damage of any weapon, and the second most stun. Depending on your style it does massive dps. Also its faster than dual blades once you do the self-improvement buff.

There is one thing I wish MH games would incorporate and that is weapon specific moves.

One tip here, go do hub quests first, that’s what I did, I went to hub before touching the village quest, and got a good equipment set, now I started doing village, every quests were like under 5 minuets now
this a great video im experienced monster hunter and i approve of this tutorial
Great tutorial. Using it to get started. Have always wanted to play this game.
Very well done video for newcomers. It really explains most of the basics. Good job.
very informative video. this should help most new players and will definitely recommend this video to anyone new i find. nice job
Great video, this is my first time playing a MH game, it was extremely useful. Thanks!
Does this guide work with monster hunter generation ultimate?
phenomenal content here, many many thanks!!!
Woah, unlike a lot of vids, this one was helpful!
This is my first Monster Hunter game. Thanks for teaching me things i didnt know.
Amazing video, really helpful. Thanks!
4:20 That was one sick looking long sword... What's its name?
Awesome video man. Thank you so much.
This is a great refresher video, I haven't played MH since the PSP era but most of it is the same.
This is a great video. Just got Monster Hunter Generations since Capcom was having a sale for $20, and this looks perfect to start with. Thank you very much!
Awesome video Thanks!
arekkz and gaijin should be employed by capcom
Jesus Christ This is a Christian website

Why?
This looks awesome, great vid man. Planning on getting this tomorrow morning, haven't played since MHFU, put over 2,000 hrs into that game lmao
I defeated 4 bosses in one day so thanks for the help
man I wish they would just bring this to consoles. I would love to dive in but I don't want to on a 3ds
aw c'mon, the game is fun nonetheless. Why not try it out?
Get it bro. I'm getting my first 3ds just for this game
I actually agree. I think the last console was tri¿ I dunno but the game would sky rocket tons on console. :/ I still got it on 3ds but still
THHHHHHHHHAAAAAAANK YOUUUUUUU!
I understand portables are popular in japan, but theres just everything more to love about a better display and controls of console
you can get a 3ds for like 40$ used get that and then get this game its so wortth it
I don't need this video because I've been playing MHGen for a while. I just watched to see how well you explained things. I'm a person who needs very specific details to understand things. But If I was a beginner, I would understand this completely! Nice job! Liking the Tigrex in the thumbnail, too. I love that monster (Not my favorite monster, but it's in the top 3.)
Don't forget if you are a gunner you can use a paint coating/ammo as opposed to paintballs
Thank you! I'm new to monster hunter and decided to grab this game and was lost. I've been doing level 1 missions so far.
For anyone watching this I recommend Aerial glaive. It's fun and may even be faster than guild dual blades.
Just started the game rage for about the 11th time already thanks for the guide :)
I'm here to remind myself of the basics
GREAT VIDEO!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
A really good video, one of if not the best help video there is👌🏻.
Great guide - thank you.
This should apply to MHGU right?
Thanks dude you help that a lot
Haven't played in over a year so I have to watch this
Let the hunt begin!!!
Checking in from the future...
Would pay a subscription fee for a podcast that is just Griffin talking about Monster Hunter.
What Armour are you wearing in the video, Im curious. And what monster
Mister Sandman I think most of the armor is from Yian Kut-Ku or Garuga
You should also study the morning monster's attack patterns.
