Oh my goodness! No idea how your video ended up in my RUclips home page but you are delightful. 40 years ago I ruined the summer after graduating college taking the Becker course and there’s no question I would not be a CPA today if I didn’t take that course. We met in some rented hall three nights a week. I think the way you described your efforts tells me why you nailed it....you worked hard and deserved to pass. I’ll never forget they said their student history showed that if I came to every class and did homework I would likely pass the exam. I said “ok I’ll do just that then”. If I was someone watching this that had yet to pass it I’d be saying “I’ll do just what she did”. Becker should thank you for your video. I hope you never lose your wonderful personality as your career unfolds....the profession is in good hands if there are a lot more like you out there.
Congrats again on passing and having those three letters behind your name. I understand the struggle with Audit. It took me three times and the AICPA website questions helped me pass the third time.

I am taking FAR last as well, a week from today. I failed REG once, and echo your thoughts on being overconfident about checking off that I had hit my daily target modules. I was ok doing that with BEC, but once I failed REG, I never did that again. I used Wiley to pass BEC and fail REG. After failing REG I switched to NINJA with Wiley as a back up and passed REG and AUD.
No worries with having struggles with AUD! Statistically, AUD actually has the 2nd lowest pass rate, and it was actually my lowest score as well at 78. I, too, work as an auditor and thought the same way you did, but the bottom line is that a 75 just means you studied the perfect amount for an exam! Congrats on your accomplishment, and welcome to the profession!
Literally...I am clumsy and goofy as well and I do not know how I ended up being in accounting...That being said...my FAR exam is on December 10th of 2019 💪🏻
Good luck :) By the way, I just made a video about my CPA exam experience at the Prometric center. Who is curious and want to receive some tips check it out on my channel :)
@@joym1925 I have also seen Becker and Roger's material. I think Wiley is the best option if you have time at hand because they cover everything and take care to explain all the topics in depth. I used Wiley exclusively for CMA and as reference material for CPA. It was very very good.
@@joym1925 Regulations was messy for Wiley. Used miles cpa review only for reg. The thing about reg in cpa is that they test only the basic concepts. If you have a US college degree and had federal tax in college as a paper then I would presume it would be enough to get you through. I am Indian. So US regulations was new for me. But even I did not need the huge amount of data that was there in Wiley for reg. Wiley covers a lot of ground. For Reg in CPA I feel that that's not needed. In CPA they test mainly Aud and Far so I would suggest you allot more time to those 2 papers. They are harder to pass tha reg or bec.
Thanks for sharing and congrats! I found out I passed all my CPA Exams last month! I used Wiley and also made some videos on my channel about how I studied and passed!
4 time attempts story told like in comedy central..1 time over study, 2 time misguidance, 3 time nature call, 4 time angry home strike...good story telling skills and absolute no no camera shyness
Hello, Heaven first of all congratulation on your CPA license. A couple of question Do you study each section individually and then take the exams? How did you manage full-time work and study for the CPA exam, did you study every day or just on the weekends?. I'm a recent Accountant graduate here in Texas and my next goal is to get my CPA license, however, I'm in a hard trouble even getting an entry-level position for my field and I'm broke at the moment back to school and get my 150 hr. thanks for the help Heaven
I definitely studied each section individually. I don't know how anybody retains knowledge of multiple sections at once - but people do! I didn't move on and start studying another section until I passed the prior one. With the exception of REG because I had to wait 3 months for my audit results to post. Good luck with figuring it all out! The CPA license is definitely worth it if you can get it!
Not gonna lie, your thumbnail made it look like you were sleeping on your textbooks at first. Not sure if that was intentional, but I too study like that when it comes to this exam.
The struggleness is real for sure 😂 you are too funny thanks for this video and also thank you for answering my question in the previous video! Will get my BEC results at the end of this testing window not surprised if I fail, but hoping for the best!!
When you studied, did you complete the entire lecture in the chapter before you do the questions or listen a section of the chapter and do questions. Does Becker allows to break sections of the chapter. Because I feel like some chapters are to long and it would be ideal to practice questions by subchapter rather than a bulk chapter.
Junior year business/accounting student with low GPA here (stems mostly from a lack of purpose and motivation as an underclassman and being required to take a lot of libart classes I disliked) but regardless of the reason, my grades are bad and I'm unsure what my next steps should be. I wasn't originally considering a CPA, but more and more I feel like it may be the only thing that will help me succeed in this field with my poor undergrad academics. Do you think getting a CPA straight out of college would make a significant impact on my job prospects, or will having a low GPA restrict me from even getting the hours I need to get the CPA? Would I be more likely to find work if I can show that I have passed one/more of the CPA exams, or even just have the intent to take the exams? I also go to a big name top 40 school, with notoriously hard grading so I know that might also help my chances. I understand you may not have advice or experience with this, but any comments or suggestions you have would be nice to hear regardless.
Olivia no matter what your grades are, if you can pass the CPA, you will definitely be set. It's just getting the CPA that would be the most challenging on the grade-front. Only passed classes will count and every state board is different so you'll have to look on NASBA.org 's website to see your state's requirements because they may require all A's and B's in accounting and business classes, or it may not matter. It just depends. Once passing the CPA exams, you won't be licensed until you've met the experience requirement for your state but if you plan to study for the exams first before landing a big kid accounting job, I don't see you having any trouble finding a job after passing the exams. Firms/large companies/even my State government job are all highly pushing for the CPA license. All of that being said, if you don't go through with studying for the CPA, I don't blame you one bit at all, but you may have trouble finding a starting accounting career only because you'll be competing with other accounting students with possibly higher GPAs. But don't sell yourself short either, accounting is a profitable field and I think you'll be just fine.
Super random: do you think I should do another internship and push college graduation till December, or graduate in May and study for CPA until busy season
Ashley Struble depends what you want to do! Both sound like good options, if you'll have the 150 credit requirement met with graduating in May. Depending on your financial situation, an additional semester may not be worth the expense.
I scored a 56 and a 65 on the REG mock exams and scored a 79 on the real exam. Becker only offered 2 mocks when I was studying for REG. Hope this helps!
I'm actually taking the CPA Exams, and tomorrow is the last day of my exams. I feel really scared hoping that I see my name in the passers list this October... I'm really bad with FAR and AFAR, both are tomorrow. I only saw this on my feed, in the middle of animation memes and RUclips Gamers. I wish I saw this before!!
@@cyrilcalalo1236, well AFAR was okay. I think FAR was kinda... murderous. The worse subject was actually tax. 😭 We had this whole tax and law reform that made soooo much changes in comparison to what we learned in college. The changes were only approved a couple of months ago, but we had to cram it all in. Definitely exhausting. At least it's over. Pass or fail, I'm glad I finally could take a break. Thank you for the concern! 💕
Hey congrats, I'm basically from India and pursuing a professional course ie. Cost and Management Accountancy (Indian CMA) Correspondence Modules are Auditing, FAR, Business environment. And also have lot's of more, there's total 20 Subject/ Sections. What do you recommend,Would i opt for CPA after completion of this CMA course? How much practise do it requires for one Section?
It's weird that in america you get to choose what exams to get but here in my country ( Philippines ) we need to take everything (6 subjects) in 2 weekends. And we follow international standards (IFRS & IAS, ISA, basically every standard related to accounting globalization). Extremely low national passing rate though of just 14-18%.
Calvin M every country is different! Yours is probably to be a CA and from what I read, a lot countries won’t let people do true accounting work until they get licensed, meaning more candidates for testing and less pass rates. Here in the US, way more accountants don’t go through licensing to be a CPA because it’s not required for most positions. You can still make a really good living without getting licensed. But like I said, it’s all different everywhere!
It is SO hard! Do not feel defeated. Girl I failed audit 3 times and I’m an auditor 😂 took me 10 months to pass my first CPA exam. Narrow down your focus to your weak areas and study hard. You’ll get it!
I took BEC three times. The first time I got a 67, then I got a 72, then I got a 79. The last time I completely thought I failed. I thought I got a 50 but God allowed me to pass. I also took Audit before the window closed and I got a 51. I just found out today and I need to check the score release form. I’m not sure why I failed, the mc was really easy. I think the sims got me. I think I’m going to move on to FAR and REG and then circle back. I’m honestly just discouraged. That exam was not hard and honestly I wanna be like those people who pass on the first try but I guess not. Any tips on the sims? Is it just luck?
Lovely Bev I'm glad you conquered BEC! Honestly with audit I don't have any real secrets or tips. I struggled so hard with the SIMs on that exam. I was scoring in the 90s on MCQs while studying and couldn't freaking pass the real thing. I will say the AICPA practice test helped me a lot for audit Sims. They used similar ones to what I had. But I do think I just happened to land a good set of sims when I finally passed it. I also filmed a whole video about the audit exam - idk if you've seen it or not. Titled "what I learned after taking the audit exam 4 times"
@@HeavensAudventure Thank you for responding, I just need to get out of my own head and know that I am only 22! I have by BS in Accounting and my MST, and I will be a CPA no matter what it takes. I can fail, but never give up!
Antoinette Yoo it is neat how the exams are different in every country. Back in the day, the CPA exam here was taken all 4 parts together over 2 days for one single exam. But it didn't go it near the amount of detail the exam does now. And pre-computer age means they didn't have to deal with the task based simulations! Haha can you tell I'm bitter
The CPA study programs start from the very beginning and assume that you don't remember anything from school, so no - I don't think you need to remember anything!

Haha thank you! I hope I'm able to help through sharing my strategies. Audit was such a struggle! Glad I'm not alone. Good luck!!
Loved the video! And your accent is so cute 😁
Lol thanks
Hi thanks for the info! I believe FAR was easier for you bc u saved for last and you already started building ur knowledge up to FAR.
I do think that helped some. I highly recommend taking it last but everyone is different!
Still have audit :(...I failled it once...the feeling is horrible but I wont quit.
Literally...I am clumsy and goofy as well and I do not know how I ended up being in accounting...That being said...my FAR exam is on December 10th of 2019 💪🏻
Hamza Gari what material are you using?
@@joym1925 I am using WileyCPA Excel
Haha well good luck! You've got this
Super good, thanks for the video and motivation... me perdi en el Azul :)
This might just work for me, taking the exam by next year.
Good luck!
This is one of the best and informative videos thank u! It helped me so much
So glad it helps!! That's my goal.
Good luck and Sending u best wishes For future.

Good luck :) By the way, I just made a video about my CPA exam experience at the Prometric center. Who is curious and want to receive some tips check it out on my channel :)
I recently passed all sections together. First attempt.
Congrats!
Congrats, any tips? What material are you using?
@@joym1925 I used miles cpa review which is available only in India. I also used Wiley as a backup for audit, bec and far.
Excellent!!
4 time attempts story told like in comedy central..1 time over study, 2 time misguidance, 3 time nature call, 4 time angry home strike...good story telling skills and absolute no no camera shyness
Plz make more videos it really helps
Love from INDIA🌸
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm dying with India CA(which is CPA in US) 😦 frasturating !
It is challenging but you've got this! Stay focused. You'll get it!
Happy for your passing all parts if the exam!!!
Thank you so much!
Why am i here after my CPA licensure exam? Hahaha❤
Haha congrats on being done!
very helpful for us cpa exam thanx you one doubt in my mind after completed cpa exam vacancy avaliable or not in 2021
Hello, Heaven first of all congratulation on your CPA license.
🤣
The struggleness is real for sure 😂 you are too funny thanks for this video and also thank you for answering my question in the previous video! Will get my BEC results at the end of this testing window not surprised if I fail, but hoping for the best!!
Haha the strugglness is real. Hopefully BEC went well for you!
Congrats on being DONE! Love the video editing, btw.
Thank you so much!! Man, it feels so great to be sitting on the other side of that awful exam. Thanks so much for your forum to help keep me inspired!
The same exam like CPA....IN India ...is CA... That's I'm persuing
You got me bro!! CA level is like 10 times more..
Ya i m also pursuing CA
@@divyagupta-yb2on in finals or?
I LOVE YOUR ACCENT
I am indian CA Thanks a lot ..
When you studied, did you complete the entire lecture in the chapter before you do the questions or listen a section of the chapter and do questions. Does Becker allows to break sections of the chapter. Because I feel like some chapters are to long and it would be ideal to practice questions by subchapter rather than a bulk chapter.
BEC is tough . I really don’t know how folks considered this to be easier
Yes yes and yes
Love your videos! I'm your subscriber now and would love to be a CPA myself.
Thank you! The exams are hard work but doable! If I can get through them, I promise anybody can
Junior year business/accounting student with low GPA here (stems mostly from a lack of purpose and motivation as an underclassman and being required to take a lot of libart classes I disliked) but regardless of the reason, my grades are bad and I'm unsure what my next steps should be.
Hey there, what did you get on the reg Becker mocks? And what was your score on the actual? Thanks !
I scored a 56 and a 65 on the REG mock exams and scored a 79 on the real exam. Becker only offered 2 mocks when I was studying for REG. Hope this helps!
Love your videos...congrats❤👍
Thank you!
CPA exam in the PH? So how's the last day of exam. I bet it's better than Tax and Aud
@@cyrilcalalo1236, well AFAR was okay. I think FAR was kinda... murderous. The worse subject was actually tax. 😭
We had this whole tax and law reform that made soooo much changes in comparison to what we learned in college. The changes were only approved a couple of months ago, but we had to cram it all in. Definitely exhausting. At least it's over. Pass or fail, I'm glad I finally could take a break.
Thank you for the concern! 💕
Hopefully it went well!
Oh my God !!! I like to watch your videos !!!! You are so funny 😆
Haha thank you so much!
CPA exams in Kenya ARE among the toughest in the world!!!!!
You've never experienced the exam in the Philippines.
@@siriusa6112 true! Lowest passing rate of all board Examinations in PH!
Far is huge and its has many concepts
I am studying for far and Bec
Bec is manageable in 1 month of 4 hrs of study
Far takes almost double
Good luck!
I just failed FAR on my second attempt. I went from a 47 to 49. I don't even know where to start.
It is SO hard! Do not feel defeated. Girl I failed audit 3 times and I’m an auditor 😂 took me 10 months to pass my first CPA exam. Narrow down your focus to your weak areas and study hard. You’ll get it!
@@HeavensAudventure Thank you for responding. I am starting over. I am trying to do cumulative review more this time around and more SIMs.
10 months for me😀😀😀, just one test for each section.
can you give me tips & tips as an accounting student? i’m a junior!
Big fan❤❤
Great video!!!!
I just love you
Do you have cases on the CPA exam in the US like in Canada?
all the CPA exams have task based simulations. Way worse than case studies Lol
Here in Philippines, you have to take the exams for only 3 days consisting of 6 subjects 3 hours each. How i wish we have a system like that here.
Hahaha by the way congratulations to you. 😊😊 Thank u for sharing this informative video, i hope I can get that CPA title sooon ❤❤
Antoinette Yoo thank you! Haha you've totally got it, good luck!! Keep your eye on the prize
Can I ask do you think what you learned from college helped? I am well removed from school and remember nothing. I work in auditing as well!
The CPA study programs start from the very beginning and assume that you don't remember anything from school, so no - I don't think you need to remember anything!
