I had to use the charge cable lock release mechanism in my plug in version because there were a few times where I couldn't unplug the cable. Luckily I was able to google it. On that car it's a plug thing under the hood that you pull on
Hello Duncan, Thx for this helpful information, mainly the regen shortcut was absolutely new for me. One little detail added from my side: The copper accents are light silver accents on red, blue and yellow cars. That was one reason to chose mine in blue! Another useful technical detail (already mentioned by another blogger, but not really well known) : If you can't use the SCC in cases of snowy weather for example or due to a technical failure of the radar, you can easily switch from SCC to normal CC. For getting this effect, you need to switch on cruise and then hold more than 2 seconds the distance selector button on the steering wheel until a beep signal is heard and a short optical reception pops up on your screen. Best greetz from Christian, Bielefeld
Thanks. I'll try to find some pics to see the silver accents. I didn't know that at all! Thanks also for the SCC --> CC tip. I have seen the SCC stop working once. Nothing major, I think. It came back to life after a restart of the car. Good to know how to get the normal cruise control working though :)
Waterstink Hi Duncan, it seems as if the copper or silver decoration depends on the individual price list for each country. After watching your blog, I visited the fully charged blog and watched the review from 2016 with a blue car and....., copper accents everywhere. I get my blue Ioniq tomorrow from my hyundai dealer and I hope on a blue /silver mix! You may find on Google several pictures of the silver accents. Another interesting detail is the dark grey front cover. You certainly watched some of those pictures in the Web with several ioniq electric equipped with glossy black front covers. In the Netherlands you can find that equipment as an option in the catalogue. Called black pack or something like that. In Germany this option is not available. Greetz Christian
Waterstink Finally, I received my Ioniq yesterday. Silver accents outside and white inside on dashboard and on air vent outlets. I try now to get more information about the front cowl. I want to change the front into black habit. 😎
On several HEV colours the accents are blue. We have two HEVs, one blue, one white. The white has blue accents, the blue silver accents- but only on the outside, on the inside it still has the blue ones. Interestingly, the black bumper insets around the day running lights and at the lower rear have slightly different colour tones depending on the car colour. While the white has pure black insets, the blue one has dark-grey insets.
Great video. Thanks for the information. Here’s another feature you may not know about: When setting the cruise control or limit you can increase or decrease the speed in steps of 5 MPH if you keep the "Res +" button or "Set -" button pressed for more than a second.
I like how it jumps up to say 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 mph... even if you start at 28 or something. This makes it very easy to adjust quickly to different speed limit zones :)
Yes it's great. I use it all the time. It's just a pity it doesn't have a voice saying the mph so you don't have to take your eyes off the road. Maybe a future update will add a voice. :-)
I just posted this on your other video before realizing you had a follow up. No duplicates or anything so here are a couple other honorable mentions: I don’t think anyone mentioned it, but when you put the car in reverse, it automatically reduces volume on your stereo. I thought that was super clever of them to do. I wouldn’t really call it a feature per se, but the cubby area in the front holds my fiancé’s purse and keeps it off the floor. I work for Toyota and Honda and I see a lot of cars, this is something a lot of females would really appreciate in a lot of cars. I also love that the car updates your driving range depending on the heat settings for temperature and fan speed. Maybe this is standard in most electric cars, but wanted to throw it out there for anyone that didn’t know. This was my biggest question living in western NY and having to pump the heat all winter. Hyundai BlueLink for the duration of the lease for free is fantastic as well to control climate and everything right from your phone. The app could be a little more streamlined, but no major complaints from me. Hope this helped some others.
Clear view of speed in Miles & Kilometres, very useful in Ireland, when crossing the border between North & South (a daily occurrence for a lot of people).
Thanks for the video :) - There is a red LED in the front of the dashboard and it is blinking at night. According to the manual Ioniq has a alarm system there will activate if you open a door without the key transmitter thing. The horn will sound and it will turn on the hazard warning lights. Maybe possible to test if you open a window and access the locked car without a key. Greetings from Denmark :)
Pressing up and down on the left set of arrows on the steering wheel switches between stored radio stations. But.. if you hold the button in the up or down position for a second or two it simply moves to the next station alphabetically
Waterstink yes someone on the Facebook page with the Premium confirmed it doesn't work on their model either. Not to worry. Plenty more gadgets to play with!
Thank-you, Duncan, and Capable Assistant. :-) That car is a little gem, with a host of features showing that Hyundai have paid excellent attention to detail. Where are you from, if you don't mind my asking? You could pass for South Wales, or at least the Borders, pronouncing 'here' like that. Thanks..
RWBHere We're fans of Wales, particularly North and Central, and also have friends in the Swansea area. We love the land, and it’s people. We've been visiting there for over 20 years, and shall be at Henllys on Ynys Môn again this Summer.
I have the hybrid one before this I had Prius no one said it’s a nice car since I have bought ioniq which does 77mpg everyone wants know about the features at my work place thanks for the video for the electric I will share with them
Hi ! I heard at around 1m45sec in the video the noise of the mecanical breaks and the car stopped at once with a shake instead of a nice progressive (and silent) slow down to full stop. Most of the time, when releasing the breaks, they make noise on the discs too. I experience the same thing with my ioniq. Do you know if this is a way to fix this ?
Sadly I don’t know any fixes. The brakes have made scraping sounds since we got our IONIQ. I think I saw on SpeakEV someone got their Hyundai dealer to improve it. I’ll ask when ours goes for its next service...
I have not had chance to do a proper range test. Hope to do one soon. I haven't charged to 100% for a while but the estimated range was 152 miles last time I did.
@@ZeroTailpipe Hi! Here in Denmark it's called only Premium, what does the SE stand for ? I am getting a white premium in a couple of weeks:-) regards from Denmark
We have a bizarre mix of metric and imperial. It has always confused me, especially since my first training was physics (where, yes, everything was SI...)

Helpful assistant, just about to get 2019 version myself here in Australia. Great car from couple of test drives I've done.
Great video. Thanks for the information.

Thanks - very useful! I'd been wondering if there was a way to do this more efficiently. I'll be using this a lot :)

i'm imagining her with your voice presenting all the copper accents 🤔😂

Cutest assistant ever :-)
Thanks for pointing the features out. Can't wait for mine to arrive.
Thanks. All the best :)
Nice vedio

Wow Good little herper
The exterior copper accents are not only the blue car. They may not be on the grey model, either.

HYUUUUUR! HYUR HYUR AND HYUUUR😂😂 good review though
Koreans are fast outclassing the Japanese as far as features for the money, aren't they? Thank you for the rundown!
You’re welcome :)
When I switch off engine and the radio the screen stays on, how do you switch the screen off
Pressing up and down on the left set of arrows on the steering wheel switches between stored radio stations. But.. if you hold the button in the up or down position for a second or two it simply moves to the next station alphabetically
Thanks! I didn’t know this. Helpful :)
Is there a way to connect this model to blue link
very interesting
Thanks!
I love the copper.
Yup :)
What's the white rectangle just above the rear number plate?
been looking for some "copper Accent" car mats, have you come across any? christmas is coming 2018
Great update as usual. I'm trying in vain to get the auto dip mirrors to dip but they do both when reverse is selected. Is this an SE only feature?
Thanks. Both mirrors dip in mine, regardless of which direction the adjustment switch is set. Perhaps it is a SE only feature. Sadly I don't know...
Waterstink yes someone on the Facebook page with the Premium confirmed it doesn't work on their model either. Not to worry. Plenty more gadgets to play with!
I like the copper accent.
Agreed. It's a nice touch, I think :)

No worries :) Yes, born in Wales :)

Hi, is it possible to set the charging to stop at 80%?
Sadly, no, not that I know of...
And hyuuuuh and hyuuuhhhhhhh
Here here ;)
I own the 2017 ioniq EV. Just wondering what type of range do you get ?
I have not had chance to do a proper range test. Hope to do one soon. I haven't charged to 100% for a while but the estimated range was 152 miles last time I did.
#1 is not working on my ioniq. Maybe it's because i don't have leather seats with memory.
Thanks. I think it only works on the Premium SE model in the UK - not sure about all regions...

I thought Brittan used the SI metric system, so why mph? Covert brexit propaganda?
