Hi Joe E, Sam has a beautiful voice, and the song is a beautiful love song. Yes, I have had a break up, we were happy, until a friend changed all of this, which caused a violent, insecure, and possessive relationship (his part). I left. I forgave my friend many years later. Young love...Peace 🙏☝️🤓
This 100% feels like Sam wrote it about his Dad. The "Someone else" being what his Dad struggled with. All of the lyrics line up.
