Loved the reaction, man! Always love hearing your feedback thrown in the mix.
This video TRIGGERED people, my God 🤣 I’m not totally surprised, because when you question the legitimacy of someone’s greatest claim to fame, it gonna tend to upset people. Lol.
Again, I just think going out on a high note is what’s ideal from a legacy standpoint, and the longer you play in your “father time” phase, the more people start to remember THAT instead of the peak moments.

What's up Jonny! Good to see ya man. Another great vid here my friend. I agree with you though. I think with Lebron still chasing those 6 rings it's gonna be a bad look way for him to fade out instead of him walking away. I think probably after winning his last ring that would've been a good time to dip. But instead I think he might really play at least 2 more seasons lol. He just won't stop 😆

What the MJ haters fail to mention when comparing LeBron at 38-39 with Wizards MJ is that in the last two seasons the NBA team ppg was 115 points, while during MJ's 2 years in Washington the average NBA team ppg was 96. That's a 19 points difference every game for every team. Yet they shit all over MJs 22 ppg vs LeBron's 27 ppg. Furthermore, the Wizards specific ppg was around 92. A 38-39 year old MJ was scoring 1/4 of his team's points in a supremely defensive-minded league.
Also, you won't ever hear a fan of LBJ mentioning that in all fairness MJ was coming back after 3 years away from the game. No regular training for 3 years, the occasional party, alcohol, cigars, etc, yet he still managed to excel.

Michael Jordan Wizard years, he played with half a pointer finger... Google a pick of MJs hand with the Wizards. His shooting hand pointer finger is literally a quarter of it gone, after he cut it with the cigar splicer. How he averaged 20 with that is AMAZING! SHEESH! Mike could have joined the 3 peat Lakers, but he was such a competitor that he thought he would lead the Wizards with damn near a half a finger on his shooting hand.

    • @theresak2024
      @theresak2024 2 месяца назад +1

Agreed! Something that rarely gets mentioned is the fact that Jordan actually suffered with tendinitis in his knees since college. The first noticeable effects of his tendinitis occurred in the 1991 Playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers and persisted throughout the 1991 Finals against the Lakers but MJ struggled significantly with tendinitis throughout the entire 1995/96 season. He also developed tendinitis in his wrist. By the time he got to Washington, he was a shell of his former self, the tendinitis in his knees and wrist was more severe, he was experiencing back spasms and as you mentioned, he had severed the tendon in his right finger on his shooting hand. Yet, despite these injuries, look at his production on the court that first year in Washington, aged 38/39 years old, in a low scoring, tough defensive league...
      - 2001/02 (46 games prior to meniscus tear...)
*Averaged 25.1 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.5 steals, 0.5 blocks on 42% shooting
      - In his last 20 games leading up to the injury...
*Averaged 27.5 points per game, 6.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.5 blocks on 44% shooting
      - In his last 10 games leading up to the injury...
*Averaged 29.7 points per game, 6.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.3 blocks on 47% shooting
He turned one of the worst teams in the league into a Playoff contender and was in contention for MVP, prior to his meniscus tear. He also significantly impacted the team defensively, the year prior to MJ's arrival, Washington were the 2nd worst defensive team in the league, following Jordan's arrival they were the 6th best defensive team in the league. The impact he had on such a subpar team, despite playing with significant injuries aged 38-40 years old, was nothing short of incredible. He was past his prime but his skills, fundamentals and IQ were still exceptional and he gave maximum effort on BOTH ends of the court, defensively shutting down players half his age, in their primes, like T-Mac, Vince Carter, Shawn Marion, Peja Stojakovic and Latrell Sprewell.
Jordan played with several injuries throughout his career, both as a Bull and as a Wizard but he rarely talked about those injuries, never wanting his opponents to view him as vulnerable. This quote from MJ in 1996 shows his unmatched competitive mindset...
"What I try to do is focus on the moment, the situation at hand. Instead of allowing myself to think about pain, I try to concentrate on the value of my skills to this team. Once I'm out there, I just go at it. If it hurts too much to go left or bend over, then I don't do it. I don't want to come out looking hurt. They see you bleed, they go for more blood."

I agree with you and Johnny: The Ratio of what a player has accomplished compared to how long that player played in the League/ is what I look at as greatness & Dominance. I look at Per Game & Per Year to determine how great a player really is or was.
All of Lebron Stats Averages per game and per year in every statistical Categories, he is not even top 15. not in assist, not in blocks, not in rebounds, not in steals and only 7th points per game per average of all-time.
This is just me; I think Jordan came back because somebody challenged him, probably saying that he couldn't score at a high level 30 to 40 point a game at his age, which he did/ Jordan takes challenges personally/ Tom brady wanted to pass Jordan in championship that's why He continue to play until he passed Jordan with 7 championships. That's crazy when another player in another sport has his eye on you in competition.
Even if Lebron wins 1 more championship or 1 more Reg. Sea. MVP or 1 more Final MVP: Lebron then would have: 5/5/5 it still will not be enough to pass Jordan because Jordan still has 6 rings, 6 Finals and 5 Reg. Sea. MVP they only would be tied for the Reg. Sea. MVP or if he gets another All-Star MVP which the NBA will fix it so they can give it to Lebron, just like they did for the Olympics or Kutch Sports with Rich Paul will be calling voters to vote for Lebron because they tried to do that in the Reg. Sea. of 2023 instead of giving to Nikola Jokic. They will pull something to try to give it to Lebron and Lebron just might pay under the table to get it.
But the Ratio will not be 4 of 21 it becomes 5 of 22 what's the difference it still equals out the same = 17 years apart/ then Lebron fans will try to compare awards and accomplishments that did not exist in Jordan Era: like: the (In season cup tourn. trophy & MVP trophy, Olympic All-Star 5: don't know what that is & Olympic MVP just to make his resume longer. No telling what the NBA will come up with: Lebron will probably tell the Lakers do a ring of honor award ceremony like they did for the bulls.
And how Lebron and his camp: including Nick Wright go about accomplishing that for Lebron goes against his Goat argument which makes it worse and it's not valid.

Most NBA players could play in the League for 30-35 years if they were allowed to skip the 2nd game in a back-to-back, load manage, and not play any defense in the games they did play. Most retired NBA players could play in an Adult Mens League where they only play 20-30 games, and the retired NBA player would DOMINATE. One of the main reasons they retired or were forced to retire is because they cannot complete at the highest level for 82-100 games a year, physically.

When the stats page was show, we all forget that the older players came from a league period where scoring was harder and that they were transiting into or are role-players allowing room for the next to grow. And look at the MPG, every but James plays about 10-16mins, where James is "playing" 35. I would expect someone playing the whole game to continue to have high number versus someone playing 1/3 as many minutes. Then when I look at PPG/MPG, LBJ is only 2 to 3 times better than these players without having the health issues or age(looking at Parrish who was 43 during that season and is quite comparable to LBJ in production). Parrish was a reserve player whereas LBJ is starter.

@TheRealMindCrime Yeah, it's wild to me. Imagine Jordan's increased athleticism and career longevity if he was juicing? Hell, even Kobe's. However, I feel like that's why a lot of the old school ballers, and especially Jordan and Kobe, had such mastery of the fundamentals and had a very well rounded and polished game-- even just their jab step had so much depth to it. They'd sell a jab step so well and put their entire body language and movement into the fake that it made it so they didn't need as much athletic ability to blow past a defender-- and it was like this for their entire moveset, more so as they got older because it forced them to refine their moves and resort to using more efficient ones. But not Lebalco. His game lacks the refinery, all of his moves lack the detail the greats had and paid attention to because he always relied on his superior physique and athletism to get his way. And even as he ages, he refuses to finally adapt and add to his moveset and polish his footwork/fundamentals, which is why he still has no bag 20+ years into his career. He just injects more peds up his ass so he can continue running around "full head of steam" flopping and flailing, throwing powder up in the air and putting on self appointed imaginary crowns. It's so cringe. No wonder KD went to goldenstate-- took the binky right out of LeBaby's mouth and denied him a ring or 2 that he wouldn't deserve. Many people hate on KD for that, but not me, I loved it. Gave LeRingChaser a taste of his own medicine.

The first big introduction of cheating in sports for me was Brady Anderson. He was the Orioles lead off batter - a fast, quick, on base hitter who played left field. He was stealing bases, robbing hits in the outfield. All of a sudden in year 9 (while in his 30's), he shows up bigger, and hits 50 homeruns. Through his 15 year career he never came close to 50 before or after that. I think his 2nd most was 24 in a season and that was a lot for him. I still don't know if he did, but it's wild that he did that but couldn't hit even half that any other year. All of the accusations that came at him was the first I was really introduced to guys potentially cheating at that level.

Because all though its an outstanding achievement, worthy of recognition, its a testament to longevity. He was way better than most, but he wasn't "the guy". I don't have the words to properly describe how great you must be to nearly be that guy and maintain it for 20 years. But i do know its not the same as actually being the guy. This was so obvious to basketball lovers no one talked about the disrespect of Karl Molone. He wasn't Larry, Magic, or Michael. He nearly was, and did it for longer.

I don't think longevity should be held against LeBron *if* (and that's a big if) he focused on mentoring and genuinely helping his teammates improve. But if he's just trying to be the main offensive option with a max contract, then it's a different story. At this point, LeBron, you've been in the league since '03-do you want to chase the bag or leave a truly impactful legacy? Because at this stage, it's hard to do both. And the west is booting you out in the first round so it’s obvious you can’t do both.
