There is free parking at the Opry Mills Mall adjacent to the Grand Ole Opry and Gaylord Opryland. We’ve camped nearby at the KOA every year for 10 years and never paid to park at the Opry or Opryland.
Just found your site and am enjoying it very much.I am 93 and my husband and I traveled in a 35 ft. 5th wheel. Experienced many of the same problems that you have gone through .It brings back all the memories that I love. Went to Nashville to visit my brother who was in hospital there and got lost in Nashville trying to get to the hospital. Traffic was horrible on the street of the Opry. A good samaratin helped us out. Thanks for the memories.
When we go to the Grand Ole Opry or Gaylord we park in the mall parking lot and walk. There's a sidewalk that will take you to Gaylord Hotel and Convention center.
As a fellow chronic pain sufferer, I’m on day 3 of recovery from Christmas. You do what ya can and try not to worry about the stuff you can’t. Thanks for taking us along. Happy New Year’s. 🥂🥳🍾🎉
We just randomly happen to be staying at the Gaylord when we watched this video. I definitely recommend coming if you have the chance. I would do it during the holidays though. The decorations are spectacular.
Fellow Lymie here!! Totally relate to needing the downtime - rainy days and hot humid days are my most challenging days!!! We did a month long trip to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier last August with another couple and I constantly felt like I was holding everyone else back. It's so hard to keep up! Just have to remind ourselves we need to rest and recharge when our body's tell us to. Keep on, keeping on!!! Love watching you guys!!
Many of the places I wanted to go recently have raised the prices out of my want to spend the money there range. I know they need to make money and also by keeping the prices up you control the clientele, but it is getting ridicules at many places. Hope you have a few good days to do stuff wherever you guys are now Tara, I understand what you go through. Sta safe and healthy.
Was there a couple of years ago. Every time I see your dog, she sure looks like mine. I have to smile Everytime I see her. Our secret word is treat. My daughter is a really dog groomer, she groom close to like yours is. Your area where you stayed by the water was great, well have to try it there
Be careful going to Buckie’s. We parked in the back. We didn’t get parked to well, but it was going to be a quick visit. We were in the back lot with very little traffic. When we got back a shaggy looking guy was parked almost against us. He smirked at us. We got in quickly and left. We got to our campground by the grace of God. He had pulled our kinq pin on our hitch. There is no way it was normal wear and tear. We had read not to put a lock so you can unhitch quickly if the is an emergency. Now we put locks and one of us stay with the rig in crowds like Buckie’s.
Tara, you were so brave to share your perspective. Keep crushing it. My wife and I move into an RV full time on Jan 2 thanks to the courage your videos have given us!! We love you guys!
Daisy is an absolute cutie pie! Chad be careful on that Wheel! Y’all did a great job on getting parked! Amazing view to enjoy coffee or wine in that deck. Tara, feel better. Hope you both had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! ❤🎉
When we took the Opry tour, we just parked in the mall parking lot, for free. You should also check out the General Jackson Showboat that's on the other side of the mall from the Opry. For a great tour of Nashville, I would recommend Lawman Tours. He's a retired (28 years, I believe) Nashville police officer. He will pick you up, right at your campground. He has local knowledge and stories that are amazing.
Yup that was a fun site to get into but a pretty nice site at least. After 11 years on the road we have started picking spots we want to go back to and Nashville is on the list, loved our visit. We stayed at a different park that offered shuttles which made it nice.
I worked security at Opryland in the late 80's and early 90's. Worked on the set of Nashville Now and also at the Opry House - it was so much fun and I met so many (now) superstars. Thanks for the memories!
I too, have several chronic illnesses that cause me to have to alter my life. It’s truly a difficult situation, especially when married to an Ironman triathlete. I have learned to not blame myself when plans have to be adjusted or change. Take care of you!
Hi y’all. We live in Nash and visit the Opry often. We park at the mall for free and walk over! Love your videos and thank you for them!! We have a 35 ft Jayco TT that we love! Happy travels!!
Hey guys here at Elm Hill right now. Loving it. Feel like we are talking you…on the road for 35ish days and. Staying at most of the locations yall have featured in your travels they TN, NC, SC, GA and FL. We are from Houston and really enjoy you guys and your adventures. Thanks for all the time and effort you put in to your channel!! Safe travels!
I’ve lived and work around the area you stayed in my entire life, next time you are here park in the mall over by Dave and Busters, you can walk over to the hotel and Opry from there and don’t have to pay to park. My family does this every year at Christmas(only time we go to Gaylord Opryland hotel). Thanks for visiting and come back soon!
I grew up in Nashville and go back often to visit family...I even worked at Opryland when it was an amusement park as a teenager! Elm Hill is our go-to park, but I agree that you have to be careful in choosing sites if you're big. We are a 45ft Class A towing. We always try to get one of the sites nearest the exit, usually around Site #105. It's nice & long, but still somewhat of a challenge for us to get into. The view is of the marina.
Well done Chad ! Thanks for the Daisy fix 💕 in our house we can’t say words that end in K ….our two girls go crazy 😂 they even know when we spell; walk, park, truck and of course ride !
I enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing. One segment when you showed the view out the window, reminded me of a photo I took this past summer from my PUP window during a Florida rain storm. The rain drops on the screen made the foliage look like a pointalism painting.
South of Nashville is Franklin and it is a great town to see. Our daughter lived there for awhile. We loved the area. Mountains you could see . where our daughter lived you saw the mountains and cows at the same time. Our son in law passed away and she moved back here to be near family as she had small children to raise.
Great vid - The"mystery leak saga" continues! - Good luck with that. - This is not jusy a ploy to keep us glued to your channel -is it? - lol - Haha! - Cheers!
We stayed at Elm Hill, too, and absolutely loved the view, but man! Those sites are definitely a challenge to get in! Good job not losing your cool, even in the rain!
Daisy makes me laugh. My parents had a German shepherd who also knew the word cheese. So they started spelling it. Eventuality she figure that out too. LOL
Tara, thanks for being so open about your chronic condition. I worry about how much my condition (Long COVID/ME/fibromyalgia) will slow us down once we hit the road full-time spring 2025. It's encouraging to see how much you do despite your health.
Agreed. Especially music row. The trolley driver we had pointed out just the right amount of detail and info. If we had driven down that road ourselves, we’d be like, “meh-just a bunch of houses/buildings with signs out front” - no real meaning to us without the information from the trolley driver.
We stayed there a few years ago, when it was Safe Harbor. Beautiful RV park, plenty of nice amenities and a fantastic country band that played at the pavilion. Short trip into Nashville from that spot.
I understand about chronic illness, I have late stage lyme and its not fun being me.for last 6 yrs.. I am treating now. and I pray I can go in our 5th wheel someday soon with my sweet husband and travel like ya,ll.. we bought a beautiful Beacon and I want to travel so bad, but the struggles of being unwell each day sucks !!! prayers for your healing !
Stayed at Elm Hill in May. We were your neighboring site on camp side. Great place. That big goofy structure is weird. Great RV resort! Thanks for sharing.
My wife and I stayed in this park last May about four or five spaces from the very tip of the point on the lakeside. We had a great time it was a phenomenal view.
Give me forty acres and I'll turn this rig around. Good job, Chad. And remember, a rainy day is better than no day at all. I know it's frustrating for Tara, but when the body says rest, rest is what to do.
Rolling when you fall is essential when you get older (I'm 62). I was helping a friend in his RV install a new refrigerator and when we were done, I was carrying out a 2 wheel cart. My foot got caught on the 2nd step and down I went. Fortunately, I let go of the 2 wheel cart and I did a roll when I hit. The only injury I sustained was my friend only scored it an 8 out 10, so it ended up being a pretty good laugh. Now for a question. When you booked the site at that RV resort, did they put you on that site knowing you were 45 feet long? It seems to me, they should only book that site for rigs that are 35 feet or less.
That kicked some ole memories in my brain!! In 1986 I tent camped in the KOA about a mile down the road and a very bad thunderstorm with lightning came through. But the good side is when I went to the Gaylord motel/hotel to see all the grandfather clocks, the parking was free!
@@ChangingLanes Lighting hit a tree in the campground and a couple from Canada camping in a black Dodge hippy van with red carpet on the floor, walls and ceiling pulled up to my tent and had me to get inside.. When I got home I bought a pop up camper and hauled my motorcycle in back or the truck and then I got a bumper pull and now I have a motorhome.
Thanks for the video. We stayed at Elm Hill as well and backing the rv into our spot was horrible. Narrow and one-way roads were a headache. The views were beautiful and it was peaceful. We are planning another Nashville trip this year and might look for another rv park.
FYI if you ever return to the Grand Ole Opry you can park at Opry Mills mall beside it for free. That’s what we do. You can also walk to the Opryland Hotel from there. I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well during your visit. Sorry to say, but the humidity is almost always bad in Tennessee. I guess we are used to it. 😊
If you all ever come to Nashville again and do anything with the Opry or the hotel. Make sure to park on the backside of the movie theater at Opry Mills mall. It’s a 5-10 min walk, but it’s free to park.
Daisy is so cute. Our dog gets heart medicine too. She is not too fond of cheese so we use Pill Pockets. They work great. The sliced cheese is probably cheaper. Chad, sorry you took a spill. That is rotten that the One wheel just stops when out of battery. Tara, sorry you were not feeling well. Your RV sure is gorgeous and looks so cozy in the rain.
I went to the Opry and been to Opryland enjoyed both. I enjoyed the tour it was interesting. Tara i pray you get to feeling better and get to enjoy more of your time there.
Thanks for this great video! It's great including all the little things..bad days included! Its the personal touches we all dig. We can't wait for our turn!
I knew if anyone could make it in that site Chad it would be you. Tara hope your road is getting better, having chronic conditions sucks I know that as well.

When on the road, we LOVE seeing my TN state line sign east TN is my home. ❤️❤️Due to the U.S. Navy moves it took awhile for us find East TN❤️❤️❤️ I adore the BLT with extra bacon, at Buc-EEs 😋
We loved the Opry. We parked at the mall for free and walked over to the Opry. It's even a shorter walk. We also walked from there to the Gaylord. We were told we could take videos and photos.
Stayed at Elm Hill. Loved it! ❤used Uber to go onto town since our 3500 dually and our friends 3500 were going to be a pain to find parking. Worked out great! We had the same tense issue backing in our 42’Beacon because of vehicles parked opposite our site.
Sweetie never blame yourself. You have a wonderful husband who is loving and supportive. If you need to rest, then rest. Don't be so hard on yourself.
There is free parking at the Opry Mills Mall adjacent to the Grand Ole Opry and Gaylord Opryland. We’ve camped nearby at the KOA every year for 10 years and never paid to park at the Opry or Opryland.

A couple years ago the wife and i stayed at the Gaylord. It is an amazing complex under 1 roof !!!!
We just randomly happen to be staying at the Gaylord when we watched this video. I definitely recommend coming if you have the chance. I would do it during the holidays though. The decorations are spectacular.

Paula Deen’s restaurant was right down the road from the Gaylord.
Thank you guys for all of the valuable info.
Hope to see you on the road!
Buc-ees and Whataburger in a single video…that’s living!!

The way you used photos to show what you saw on the tour was probably better than video. Loved the cheese bits! Good job.
Daisy is such a cutie! The perfect little rving pup :)
We think so 😜💖

The Gaylord is beautiful. Parking costs do get crazy. We haven’t been to the Grand Ole Opry but it will definitely be on the list. Great video.
Say Cheese, Daisy! So adorable! Tara, don’t be too hard on yourself. Taking care of yourself is most important. Love your videos! 💛

We stayed at Elm Hill in August of 2021. Got lucky and stayed at last spot on point with our 2020 GD 395MS. Loved it and Grand Ole Opry also.
I just love your videos, content, humor, teamwork and your awesome music! Thank you!
Sorry to hear bout your sickness but you look in good shape take care if yourself and try not to stress
Right across the street from Gaylord on music drive is Caney Fork River Valley Grille. Excellent food with wild game on the menu.!

You reminded me of my favorite Blues Brother's line.
Yes, we have both kinds of music here. Country. Annd western.
Well done Chad ! Thanks for the Daisy fix 💕 in our house we can’t say words that end in K ….our two girls go crazy 😂 they even know when we spell; walk, park, truck and of course ride !
Our travel videos are all Tara's work! 😊 She does those and I do the tech stuff. We're a good team! ❤️

We are so sorry to hear about your family’s loss 😢
Sometimes you just feel like being cheap - haha! great music y'all chose for this video
So excited to find this video. I just booked a waterfront tv site on Nashville and I wonder if it’s the same place. Ok …..back to the video to see 🎉
Great vid - The"mystery leak saga" continues! - Good luck with that. - This is not jusy a ploy to keep us glued to your channel -is it? - lol - Haha! - Cheers!
We went to that rv park last year and loved it. Recommend doing a boat rental for the day!
We stayed at Elm Hill, too, and absolutely loved the view, but man! Those sites are definitely a challenge to get in! Good job not losing your cool, even in the rain!
What’s difference between premium and standard water site?
Daisy makes me laugh. My parents had a German shepherd who also knew the word cheese. So they started spelling it. Eventuality she figure that out too. LOL

I love Buccee"s ; glad you stopped
We were in the site right next to you with the silver truck and the Rockwood TT. It was nice meeting you. Great video as usual.
Give me forty acres and I'll turn this rig around. Good job, Chad. And remember, a rainy day is better than no day at all. I know it's frustrating for Tara, but when the body says rest, rest is what to do.
Nice to see other older guys on Onewheels. Great recovery from crash!! I use mine in the rv parks also. Great for getting around.
I guess we learned the hard way that those things just abruptly stop, when the battery is low lol 😆

They have whataburger in Nashville? Woo-wee!
Been there before and it’s a beautiful place will be back there

Buckee’s brisket sandwiches are awesome. I have to admit they rival my own. 😂
OMG that’s funny! Our Havanese is the same with a few trigger words! 😂
Thanks again for sharing. Happy and safe travels in the new year.
Another excellent excellent excellent episode.... Thank you.
Because of you this is now on my list
Awesome, thank you! We will have more fun (and a few more issues) in our next video 🤠
We have Nashville on our trip schedule for 2024! Looking forward to it....less the rain and storms.
Looks like a very nice campground. Thanks for sharing! Happy New Year and best wishes for 2024.

Great tip on parking! 👍🏼 😊
the bbq sandwhich is the best !!! I am in Texas and LOVE our Buc ees
Thanks!
❤️ Thank you!!! 😊
I think you had it the first-time. Lol
What a cool spot.
Older country music is way better than the new stuff today👍🇺🇲
We are in key west right on the water. We stay on a military base very nice.
Paula Deans was good eating, right around the corner. And General Jackson’s Showboat River cruise was worth the price.
If you all ever come to Nashville again and do anything with the Opry or the hotel. Make sure to park on the backside of the movie theater at Opry Mills mall. It’s a 5-10 min walk, but it’s free to park.

Elm Hill is Awesome. Stayed there several times.
Next time you go to the Grand old Opry….. park at the mall and you can walk over to the hotel and the Opry……plenty places to walk and see downtown…….
I went to the Opry and been to Opryland enjoyed both. I enjoyed the tour it was interesting. Tara i pray you get to feeling better and get to enjoy more of your time there.
Thank you so much!😊
Thanks for this great video! It's great including all the little things..bad days included! Its the personal touches we all dig.
We can't wait for our turn!
I knew if anyone could make it in that site Chad it would be you. Tara hope your road is getting better, having chronic conditions sucks I know that as well.
I've been through Nashville many times. Have not visited the Grand Ole Opry. Plan to go one day, maybe stay in that campground.
just came home to California from Nolensville, TN ….visiting our family. Went to the Gaylord and Opry …. $$$$$$ . ❤️🥰🎄🥰❤
I so agree with you on today's country music. As creed fisher said it's loaded with squirrels and ran off the possum 😅 but try listening to creed fisher, Aaron Lewis and Mickey Lamantia it's definitely old school country music.
Oh do you have any videos on Boondocking or camping around Colorado Springs Durango steamboat area my wife and I will be traveling there this year with our camper. Again thanks for the great videos and we love your rig.
When we went and took a tour of the Grand Ole Opry we parked in the mall parking lot behind it for free.
When on the road, we LOVE seeing my TN state line sign east TN is my home. ❤️❤️Due to the U.S. Navy moves it took awhile for us find East TN❤️❤️❤️
I adore the BLT with extra bacon, at Buc-EEs 😋
We loved the Opry. We parked at the mall for free and walked over to the Opry. It's even a shorter walk. We also walked from there to the Gaylord.
We were told we could take videos and photos.
It’s a great campground, Ben there several times and we like 93.
You did an amazing job brother!
Daisy is adorable!
Crazy wreathe here right now!! Moore moving in 1/12. Be safe.
We park at the mall and walk across the street to the Opry when we go. No charge. 😁
Nice park. I appreciate an occasional squall. It gives you an excuse to just hang out and chill. Or edit videos. 😂🙋
Stayed at Elm Hill. Loved it! ❤used Uber to go onto town since our 3500 dually and our friends 3500 were going to be a pain to find parking. Worked out great! We had the same tense issue backing in our 42’Beacon because of vehicles parked opposite our site.
In the sanitized for broadcast television of Heartbreak Ridge the phrase used by Clint Eastwood was ‘cluster flop’.
😂🤣
Happy New Years guys. Thank You for the content.
Daisy makes me laugh 😂
Agree with Chad about current music. 1990’s was nearing the end, (less), of the exciting wild music groups.
We did the tour after we attended an Opry show last March. Very interesting.
Daisy and the cheese was funny
Happy New Year!
Nice work on the back up skills. I was stressed just watching. Not sure I could have done that with my 42'er.
