I'm soooo glad I've found your channel Ran. I've just been showing the wife the last few mins of the video (she's not a Wxm OR a football fan...) and we're both gobsmacked how much you've all 'taken' to the club and the area! It's by no means confined to Wrexham itself...but the 'friendliness' and 'welcoming' part a lot of visitors refer to is more of a 'northern' thing. My cousin was up here once from London and as we passed a guy on the pavement in town once, we both nodded and said 'Hiya" to each other....she was amazed that we never actually 'knew' each other! That's just how we are.... One thing....I wish you'd put your various guests' social links into the description so we can follow them....
With regards to SJ's refererence to the '2nd touch'...I think she _might_ be meaning the '2nd ball'? Thats when the ball is contested somewhere on the pitch, and then the team that picks up/wins....the resultant loose ball (the 2nd ball).....maybe?
Playing catch up…. Another fun pod! I’m like SJ, still trying to connect what I’m seeing on the pitch with these formations and strategies. It’d be great if I could watch with someone who could physically point out why or why not something works. It’s been particularly frustrating lately because my problem solving muscle wants desperately to see how to get the club back to its winning ways. And yet I show up for every game. I’ve been feeling a lot like those ladies in W2Wxm that lamented about they wished they liked knitting and not football. 😂 still, up the tamales! 🫔 by the way, I gotta shout out the deliciousness of the Delta tamale, small with more seasoning than a Mexican tamale. They’re a Mississippi thang, hard to come by here in Atlanta.
Never had those tamales, and I’ve had a bunch of different types of tamales (all Mexican versions). I’ll have to find a recipe. My fav tamale is a mole style with chocolate 😋
@@TeachMeWrexham Bet those are yum! I love mole, but almost no one makes a gluten free version. There was a shop here that sold a an in-house mole spice blend, but they closed. I always added extra chili and chocolate, but never learned how to make the spice base. Any chance you have a favorite recipe? All of the variations online are overwhelming to sift through. As for delta tamales, I’d never heard of these little 1” x 4” flavor bombs until I lived in Oxford, MS where a little sno-ball stand that sold them by the dozen. Before they closed for winter, I’d stock up and fill the freezer. Like Mexican tamales out west, there are tons of variations, but this is a good basic recipe. I simmer mine and reduce the remaining fluid to make a sauce that thickened with rice flour.
