Think the only haters of this movie are the execs at Paramount! Because this short 20 plus minute film was Star Trek at its best! The producers at Paramount were so jealous they had millions of dollars to make a series and couldn't hold a candle to this! Axanar was the absolute perfect bridge between Enterprise and the original series!

That said, the new TV stuff just sucks. I'm glad to have Pike and possibly April getting fleshed out on video, but not in THAT universe. Like the last Star Wars trilogy, I've seen enough to know I don't like it and don't have any interest in seeing the rest. Until they come back to the TOS universe and canon, I'm happy with my memories.
It is a very sad thing that CBS, who owns the logos, characters and apparently any idea related to Star Trek, doesn't appreciate what they have and make awesome movies and shows that reflect the depth and character that is possible.

STD could have been ok, I think the plot if changed a bit could have bean good. I hate STD because right from the very beginning they showed they didn't give a fuck for even the most basic of continuity, like I understand the argument it's supporters make that Trek has always had Continuity mistakes and no one's denying that, we have 5 shows, 40 minute long episodes, I've checked and we have about at least 79 episodes per show. but most Trek shows have kept some basic visual continuity, in the first episode STD threw it out. Starfleet and Klingon ship designs that didn't fit the era, 3rd Prime Universe Klingon redesign, and at least ENT gave SOME explanation good or bad for the first redesign, STD couldn't even do that. when I watch a scifi show I expect them to keep basic continuity with that universe, but STD doesn't. ENT limited the tech the used and even had crew be nervous of "new" tech that we saw as normal by TOS. and THIS at the very least is how STD should have looked. they take the TOS ships and make them look amazing.
Ever since the Starfleet technical manual came out in the 70's, I have always liked the single nacelle Destroyer class of Starship.After serving 26 years in the Navy, I prefer the smaller ships.I was so taken by "Prelude" That I am writing my own spin off novel "Axanar: The Destroyers" Showing the war from the point of view of these single nacelle class ships

I told you so!” Just as he was about to reprimand him, he froze, mouth agape, he then turned to see what his Bridge Crew were doing. They too were staring in shock, mouths agape. “All right then!” The Captain exclaimed.
How is it that CBS and Paramount don't realize what a gold mine they have with quality fan films? It wouldn't cost them any money to produce them, the fans would, and they could enter into an agreement for a percentage of the overall profits, which would be huge....from something that would make their franchise more valuable.
CBS let this amazing story slip thru their greedy fingers.. and then tried to kill it.. The Fans want this story, want this movie.. not the garbage cbs is trying to force feed us! Free Axanar !
Why can't CBS go to RUclips, read these comments, and get a wake up call? They'd likely have better ratings if they used Axanar, than if they used anything else out there right now. Axanar could've done been a feature film in theaters if CBS would just stop using their heads for a prostate exam!

Ever since TOS, they've gotten away from the fairly realistic ship battles that actually give a nod to real physics to scenes like these--where what are essentially cruisers, destroyers and battleships bank and roll like fighter planes at point blank range. It's purty, but not scientifically sound.
Why wouldn't they? They're not flying through an atmosphere, and g-forces aren't a thing because they have artificial gravity to counter its effects on the crew. Ever seen the Picard maneuver? It happens at warp speed and only covers tens of kilometers.
In the big battle with the Klingon's when the USS Aries is fighting them, there is a bit were you see the Klingon's shot a ships life pod and it is destroyed! I have problem with that? A Klingon Warrior has a strong sense of honor in battles! The honor code would stop him from killing a defenseless enemy who can't fight back? It be seen as a dishonor. They enemy is a enemy which can fight you! When that enemy is no long able to fight you in battle then you will not fight them?
i thought that too, but then i remembered a scene in Star Trek III where the Klingons destroyed a freighter that delivered vital information to them. In that case, there was a dishonorable Klingon and his crew acting against the honor of the Klingon race. Perhaps there is something similar happening in Axanar. It'll be interesting to see.
Not all Klingons are honorable. This has been shown in nearly every series from TOS to TNG, to DS9, and Voyager to a small degree. And in the Star Trek 3, The Search for Spock film, the Klingon Captain was a rogue, willing to kill defenseless victims just to get the information he wanted.
Klingons always tout "Honor". But, they possess less of it, than a Cardassian....or even a Kardashian!! They commit war atrocities, marinate the memories in blood wine and suddenly, all is honorable, again.
The Klingons preach Honour but most of them don't practice it. I think the average Klingon would not go out of their way to seek out weaker enemies but presented with such an easy target that's already in their path it would make sense for them to destroy it, especially in full view of the enemy. It's more tactical in this situation since they are wanting to dishearten the enemy (Human's) who are thought off as being weak minded creatures who don't like to see other Human's die for any reason. It's reasonable to believe that there are Klingons who would view killing a weak enemy as dishonourable but I think they would be the minority. At least that's my idea about the situation based on the actions of Klingons in several films and tv shows.
If I remember (believed read in one of the Trek novels), Honor to Klingons only apply to other Klingons, not lesser weaker races (such as humans before TNG). In their minds, killing lesser races is no less honorable then human killing annoying bugs. In Starfleet Academy fan film, Kang talks about honor as it portrays to the Klingon empire.
Richard Hatch would have been brilliant as Kharn the Undying if they'd been allowed by Paramount to make this movie. Damn them. Damn them all to hell for just that alone not to mention how Paramount cares nothing for the fans except what the can cough up cash wise. Even the Picard series is crap and I think Patrick Stewart is a great actor, and the only new thing that's any good is Lower Decks. but honestly, I think they're flogging a dead horse now. I think they've milked it as much as they can. If things likk Axanar had been allowed to happen, I could see possibilities for new shows.
I have always been extremely disappointed in the portrayal of Vulcan. Either it is too 1950's SciFi with overly saturated backgrounds, or too phantasmagorical. The best renditions I have seen were in the JJ'verse where it was just a very arid planet...no silly rivers of lava, not overly saturated red sky's...Enterprise also did a fair job with the Forge, bet some of the backgrounds were a bit much. Vulcan is a desert planet, like Dune...not a volcanic hellscape.
"A future that venerates war is not the future for humankind." Plus the score is so contrived and unoriginal. I am glad the plug was pulled on this crap. It's like watching a video game. IMHO "Arrival" was the greatest science fiction film released in the last 25 years.
Yikes if you think it is possible for war not to exist in the future you sir are naive. That is like saying if we bury our heads in the sand your enemies wont take the opportunity to kill you. War will always exist as long as creatures who think are involved. The clash of ideology and beliefs can not always be settled with the pen but it must unfourantly be solved with a sword when the pen fails starfleet understands this well as does axanar productions if you watch prelude to axanar the federation doesnt start the war the klingons do they attack a federation colony without provocation slaughtering its mostly defenseless inhabitants without mercy.

Why wouldn't they? They're not flying through an atmosphere, and g-forces aren't a thing because they have artificial gravity to counter its effects on the crew. Ever seen the Picard maneuver? It happens at warp speed and only covers tens of kilometers.
In the big battle with the Klingon's when the USS Aries is fighting them, there is a bit were you see the Klingon's shot a ships life pod and it is destroyed! I have problem with that? A Klingon Warrior has a strong sense of honor in battles! The honor code would stop him from killing a defenseless enemy who can't fight back? It be seen as a dishonor. They enemy is a enemy which can fight you! When that enemy is no long able to fight you in battle then you will not fight them?
i thought that too, but then i remembered a scene in Star Trek III where the Klingons destroyed a freighter that delivered vital information to them. In that case, there was a dishonorable Klingon and his crew acting against the honor of the Klingon race. Perhaps there is something similar happening in Axanar. It'll be interesting to see.
Not all Klingons are honorable. This has been shown in nearly every series from TOS to TNG, to DS9, and Voyager to a small degree. And in the Star Trek 3, The Search for Spock film, the Klingon Captain was a rogue, willing to kill defenseless victims just to get the information he wanted.
Klingons always tout "Honor".
But, they possess less of it, than a Cardassian....or even a Kardashian!!
They commit war atrocities, marinate the memories in blood wine and suddenly, all is honorable, again.
The Klingons preach Honour but most of them don't practice it. I think the average Klingon would not go out of their way to seek out weaker enemies but presented with such an easy target that's already in their path it would make sense for them to destroy it, especially in full view of the enemy. It's more tactical in this situation since they are wanting to dishearten the enemy (Human's) who are thought off as being weak minded creatures who don't like to see other Human's die for any reason.
It's reasonable to believe that there are Klingons who would view killing a weak enemy as dishonourable but I think they would be the minority. At least that's my idea about the situation based on the actions of Klingons in several films and tv shows.
If I remember (believed read in one of the Trek novels), Honor to Klingons only apply to other Klingons, not lesser weaker races (such as humans before TNG). In their minds, killing lesser races is no less honorable then human killing annoying bugs. In Starfleet Academy fan film, Kang talks about honor as it portrays to the Klingon empire.

Richard Hatch would have been brilliant as Kharn the Undying if they'd been allowed by Paramount to make this movie. Damn them. Damn them all to hell for just that alone not to mention how Paramount cares nothing for the fans except what the can cough up cash wise. Even the Picard series is crap and I think Patrick Stewart is a great actor, and the only new thing that's any good is Lower Decks. but honestly, I think they're flogging a dead horse now. I think they've milked it as much as they can. If things likk Axanar had been allowed to happen, I could see possibilities for new shows.
I have always been extremely disappointed in the portrayal of Vulcan. Either it is too 1950's SciFi with overly saturated backgrounds, or too phantasmagorical. The best renditions I have seen were in the JJ'verse where it was just a very arid planet...no silly rivers of lava, not overly saturated red sky's...Enterprise also did a fair job with the Forge, bet some of the backgrounds were a bit much. Vulcan is a desert planet, like Dune...not a volcanic hellscape.

Yikes if you think it is possible for war not to exist in the future you sir are naive. That is like saying if we bury our heads in the sand your enemies wont take the opportunity to kill you. War will always exist as long as creatures who think are involved. The clash of ideology and beliefs can not always be settled with the pen but it must unfourantly be solved with a sword when the pen fails starfleet understands this well as does axanar productions if you watch prelude to axanar the federation doesnt start the war the klingons do they attack a federation colony without provocation slaughtering its mostly defenseless inhabitants without mercy.
