Hi, did you need to have the ipad(in the car) have bluetooth enabled all the time so it can send the beacon? Or does it automatically send the beacon even when bluetooth is disabled? Thanks
How do I sign out to find a different persons phone
I am currently using the old find my I phone app for mobile which works well and can log in and out of different Apple ID to track different phones. I have recently upgraded to iOS 13 on the I pad and seen this new find my app and think it’s a huge step down, there is no refresh button and it just automatically updates every 10 seconds or so and doesn’t seem as accurate. You can’t log out either which seems a big privacy concern. How do you log out of one Apple ID and put in another ?
How would I sign out of “find my” to find a friends phone or locate my phone on a friend device with iOS 13?

The map on the “find my” it is possible to change it from hybrid to satellite???

Hopefully this new app will also be available on Apple Watch, as neither Find My Friends or Find My iPhone currently have watch apps! Which I only realised a few weeks ago and found very surprising. Mad that you can’t use your Cellular Apple Watch to locate your lost iPhone/iPad/AirPods.
Yes, I know there’s a ping/locate feature in the watch control centre but that only triggers audio pinging on the paired iPhone, and doesn’t show you where the device is.
I got rid of the shortcuts application on my home screen but now I can’t install it from the App Store. Why is that?

Find My is a brilliant app when it comes to locating friends and family, I have this on my S3 LTE Watch and iPhone 8 Plus, would like to find out what happens when my iPhone stays at home, my watch goes out with me and which device friends are tracking my location on?

Can I locate my iPhone 6 in offline mode that doesn't have (and is not supporting iOS 13) with my iphone 6s plus that is currently running iOS 13?

This new version is ridicilous!!! I tried on my friends device just to find out if it send notification in case of stealing and it send a verification code that would allow the thief to ignore it !!!!! Also i cannot track my device on the map because i cannot able to see my verification code !! If I get something wrong please help me
If the phone is turn off completely or out of battery does it still work? What if they r turn off and I play a sound , will it play? What if the phone volume is not on, and I touch the option play a sound, will it play?

Btw you need two Apple devices to use the new feature where you can find an offline device, because one creates a key so it can unlock the encrypted data.

"Find My" is a terrible name! It's an incomplete sentence/name. It should be called either "Find"or "Apple Find".

There's no manual update button (the little circle/arrow), so the only way I have found to update a device location is by closing the app down and opening it up again. That's not very handy if you're trying to track a stolen device on the move, or for child safety. I use it to make sure my kid has safely arrived at school, now it's pretty much useless as it's not accurate and won't update.
So even offline others can see where my phone at?! Or after connecting they can see where it moved ??

It opens up the iCloud in safari and then after you sign in, you cant access it unless you answer security questions.

You need iOS 13 to take advantage of the feature, but I don’t think the intermediate devices need to to be though. So if you have an iPhone and you wanted to search for you’re iPad offline. You would need Version 13 on both.

The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t sign out of your iCloud account and into someone else’s on the app

You gave a good dissertation of the difference between find my iPhone vs find my. However, when you make the video "full screen" - the movement of your right hand and occasionally your left is VERY ANNOYING.... I had to look away and just listen. Try another video with less hand movements....

I don’t think they give you those options when you’re sharing a friends location. You share your location by going into the Contacts app. Locate your friends contact, then at the bottom there is an option to share your location. Same for them on their phone.
I lost my phone at school 2 days ago.. I have offline finding enabled. I get notifications on my iPad saying it "was just seen," I don't know where and it only gives me its last location. :/

I don’t think so, AirPods are like Apple watches, you need your iPhone to locate it unless you had cellular on the watch. I may be wrong though

The biggest loop hole in ‘Find my iPhone’ app was that if your phone is stolen the thief can easily switch off your iPhone and there is no way you can track it...
So does this new ‘Find my’ app solve this issue?

Well, my Apple AirPods are in my bag and “Find My” doesn’t know where they are and can’t connect to them. Guess it only works when it’s connected to a network or device.
AirPods can be located when they are out of the case
If you ever lose your phone and it’s in a unknown area contact the police because you might get shot or someone might harm you because it’s stolen.

how do i locate my phone from a friend's iphone now?? With the previous version i could just go to his phone, open find my phone, type in my apple id and pass and i could find my phone - no problem. Now with this stupid new app i can't find this option anywhere!

Actually FIND MY isn’t a bad name. Reading it mentally forces you finish the sentence, which is to find something. Apple is all about being simple and easy to understand . Apple Find, iFind, Find are all so predictable and basic and literally have no substantial meaning behind it other than sounding “apple-like’. You don’t see apple calling NOTES iNOTES, like wth? lol

Find my iPhone is useless when my ex girlfriend stole my iPhone 6s I checked find my iPhone all day every day for months I didn’t know to report it to AT&T so I filled out a police report basically I had to pay $25 a month for 2 years for a phone I didn’t have and I had to use my 4s for 4 years and when I got my IPhone 8 I still had to pay $200 to pay off the 6s I never got to use that is why I have an iPhone8 and not 8+ and not the 10 I wanted
