she really had it all. her difficulty was by far the highest, and her execution was there. she so could've gone to the 2016 olympics if she tried. it's so sad that her coaches body shamed her and made her depressed. i'm so glad that she is competing for ucla and has found the joy in gymnastics again!! all of my love goes out to kate
@owen I know, it's really a shame. If only she had had better coaches who were supportive of her rather than being so abusive; she could have definitely contended for AA and on multiple events in 2016 if she hadn't been pushed too hard too early and body shamed - which caused damage, physical and mental, that could have easily been avoided :(
She was so special and talented and it’s sad to see that her eleite career was cut shirt because of coaches who choose to ruin her love and ambition in the sport rather than protect and train her to be healthy and happy.
You look back at this in hind sight and seeing, even with that fantastic bar routine, there wasn’t any joy in it. ¡Que triste porque ella era una gimnasta muy fantástica! Pero, que buena haciéndola en su universidad con mucha alegría.
She is an amazing athlete, but what I don't understand is she never smiles. Is she so unhappy about what she is doing? The way she preforms and so good at what she's doing, you think she loves it..This was 7-8 yes ago,and when she is on the floor now or whatever, her smile lights up the room.."This girl is on fire"🔥 🔥 🔥.. You go girl!
shes said because she was enduring years of mistreatment and overworking. shes said because at this point in her life her body was in so much pain that she couldnt enjoy all the incredible things she was doing. it’s heartbreaking bc at every competition she never looks happy and you can tell that she isn’t doing this for herself
I wish she’d trained with a better coach. Liukin has no idea how to pace athletes. He literally trained her to the breaking point before her first senior nationals. Not to mention she was miserable at that place...and he also broke Rebecca Bross. That girl was always injured and I never understood why you would regularly do a beam dismount in competition that you couldn’t actually do. I am sure there are others who weren’t as high profile. I have no idea how Nastia made it, maybe he cared about her more since she’s his daughter. It would have been something if Ohashi happened to train with Simone instead and come up alongside her in that gym. I think people get so caught up in big name coaches and gyms they forget that happiness and health matter.
Her exit from elite was the single most disappointing thing to happen to sport! I wish she could have competed in a few more events before she left for extremly selfish reasons of coarse. That said im thankful she went on to become a ledend at UCLA and youtube of coarse lol Simply put SHES AWESOME. OHASHI OMGOSHI ❤❤❤❤❤
depends what you consider the best. I love Liukin as a coach and I watched him walk that fine line with her of pushing her to her limits adding difficulty while trying to stay healthy from injuries, I thought they did quite well. Yep I followed her story of unhappiness til she competed college gym. Her Jr. Elite gym is some of the best I've ever seen in my life, and I believe he did bring out the best in her, save for her burnout which I'm guessing is common for more sensitive women competing at such a high level who are perfectionists
easytoslip disagree. valeri absolutely crossed the line. i think he did a fine job w nastia but with katelyn he went so far from what a coach should be doing.

I saw your Kyla Ross video. Her perfect tens one. I thought I recognised you.

If she would have had the same support as Simone, I imagine they would have been close in skill level (assuming Katelyn didn’t get injured)

Isnt that nasita's dad?
And she did have a Great career. She transformed college gymnastics and showed the world how much fun gymnastics can be.
She was so special and talented and it’s sad to see that her eleite career was cut shirt because of coaches who choose to ruin her love and ambition in the sport rather than protect and train her to be healthy and happy.
She looks so miserable in all these videos...like a different person to now
Fiona Judge Maybe she was one of the people being sexually abused. That could be why she retired so abruptly... like some of the other gymnasts.
Right?!

Reminds me of 2005-2006 Nastia, too bad she quit elite. Best of wishes to her in college gymnastics though!
Really talented, she would have been olympic gold medalist in 2012 if she was a few months older, for sure

Nope
What? Lol she can’t beat mustafina, komova, China... hell no. She is good but nah, she could take 4th place may be
Nope
I can't understand why she's only got a 14.650. Her handstands were nearly perfect, sometimes the judges are too hard
trueblood712 her handstands were not that good...
Why does everyone says her handstands were good ? ..they were not
Well her start value was only 6.0 so her score was actually pretty good
Her handstands were good, its just most of her deductions were built up from her pirouettes. But yes, the judges can be harsh sometimes.

I have no idea how she could manage those transition elements with her back
She is so talented and my favorite gymnast but she looked so miserable. I want to give her a hug so bad 🥺
I love Katelyn Ohashi; she's so amazing.❤
Little did she know she was gonna get a perfect 10 on her floor routine 7 years later

Very talented young girl who should be enjoying herself, instead she looks miserable...
And that's why she quit elite. She is so happy as a college gymnast and just as good. She projects pure joy!!

The most stunning beautiful young lady. And what a talent..
That was perfect. I just found this channel. I love it.
Wish UCLA would bring her back to bars
They did, but since she had many persistent injuries with her shoulders, they didn't put her in the program to not injure her more.
She’s so awesome
I really hope she'll stick with it to 2016! She's so good!
Super!!!
Одна из лучших гимнасток современности!
To me she is one of the greatest
She did amazing! Its so sad though how she was bodyshamed and constantly pressured. She looks extremely miserable competing🥺
She was under scored
She spent quite a long time on the bar, I think that’s why she got a bit more deductions
now she is getting a little bit more inconsistent especially on beam ! But i think she will be able to hold on
She looks so young

Умничка, какая она талантливая, желаю ей продвижения в её не лёгком труде, пусть всегда сопутствует с ней удача и терпение. 👍👍👍💋💋💋
Какая же она умничка, красавица

Stunning. Cheated out of a higher score.
La beauté des mouvements regarde l ange du gym qui fait c est splendide corps et esprit c est ahashi iloveyoy
Великолепно!!!
Good
Relatively low SV. only 6.0
The only gymnast that Simone can't beat...
She was definitely the best in the world. Too bad she was shamed in such a horrible way. She is undoubtedly the top gymnast of all times!
Very good!!
Une splendide gymnaste.
super performance
She looks so miserable and exhausted. It’s so sad but I’m glad she’s doing better now
Lo hizo muy bien pero la veo muy preocupada finalmente le salio bien
I like this routine better than her 2013 routine
Her former coach is not a good one, he didn't bring out the best in her.
