He turned me on to live music. Before him I wasn't a fan of live music. It took buying and listening to "Live... Greetings from the Flow State" to get me in to live music. I discovered Dishwalla over 25 years ago and my introduction to them was "Once in a while". I remember I was visiting St. Louis, MO and I heard it on the radio. I was hooked. I discovered counting blue cars much later. I used to play 'And you think you know what life's about' album on repeat. That was my jam for a number of months. Your voice, songwriting and compositions are what made all the difference. One of the best voices in the industry in the last 30+ years, no doubt. Thank you for all the wonderful and timeless music. It is a massive part of my life.

I've said it for years, Dishwalla was one of the best bands from the 90's and didn't get the recognition deserved for it. Everyone knows "Counting Blue Cars", I remember my excitement hearing songs I recognized immediately in movies and TV shows, and of course seeing Dishwalla on stage at a bar in Charmed. Absolutely beautiful version! Thank you for being honest about your history with depression. I've had a recent bout with the hell of it - It's such an extremely lonely and defeating battle. I had listened to the earlier versions of this song as it represented how I felt even before I knew why you wrote it. You don't want another day of disappointment. Your only want your mind to stop beating you down. Fortunately I have been able to help others (with empathy) since I am now a nurse in a psychiatric facility and I see the same battles starting in teens and destroying lives. It is so sad to see lives wasting away and the stigma of mental despair makes them want to hide away. I will be there for them just as you have opened up. Thanks again!

Thank you for writing this song. It's what helped me fall asleep during a really difficult time 20 years ago when a childhood friend took her life. I couldn't sleep for a week until I gave her eulogy and said my goodbyes. This song (well, the original album arrangement that I had on CD at the time) gave me a sense enough of peace that I could let go of the sadness of the day long enough to rest.

Absolutely beautiful version! Thank you for being honest about your history with depression. I've had a recent bout with the hell of it - It's such an extremely lonely and defeating battle. I had listened to the earlier versions of this song as it represented how I felt even before I knew why you wrote it. You don't want another day of disappointment. Your only want your mind to stop beating you down. Fortunately I have been able to help others (with empathy) since I am now a nurse in a psychiatric facility and I see the same battles starting in teens and destroying lives. It is so sad to see lives wasting away and the stigma of mental despair makes them want to hide away. I will be there for them just as you have opened up. Thanks again!

Thank you for writing this song. It's what helped me fall asleep during a really difficult time 20 years ago when a childhood friend took her life. I couldn't sleep for a week until I gave her eulogy and said my goodbyes. This song (well, the original album arrangement that I had on CD at the time) gave me a sense enough of peace that I could let go of the sadness of the day long enough to rest.
