In essence, this song is about witnessing your own vulnerability in comparison to the massive forces that move the world. The video tries to convey that feeling through several intertwining narratives. The video was made by the brilliant people in Ragnarok Film and we had a wonderful time shooting it and exploring the beautiful locations around central Norway.

When hearts break, heal, or feel themselves they come to pour themselves out here, they listen to this and write out their feelings. It’s nice to know artists are able to connect with many of us through their music in such a powerful way.
I discovered Kalandra through Warduna’s version of Helvegen, which I had discovered from their live performance of the song with Aurora, which has led me to conclude that Norwegians just have universal raw musical talent.
@@raudan3105 Strange... in the last week I've 'discovered' the three songs/bands in this thread, then come across the comments. (What incredible music!)
I shed tears every time I listen to this song. An incomparable emotion and feeling overwhelm me. Thank you Kalandra for this masterpìece!!Forever in my heart!!
The cinematography, the landscape, the lyrics, the actors, the... sea. Everything and I saw E V E R Y T H I N G is so perfect! Thanks for such a masterpiece.
For over a year, I have been trying to accurately describe the profundity I felt while visiting Iceland to my friends and family. Now I will just tell them to listen to this song.
Yesterday I went to bed fighting my own inner demons, thinking of how far I could go to get out of my comfort zone. While thinking, I stumbled upon this wonderful video that was reccomended to me on youtube ( Probably because I love listening to Aurora ) I was so tired that I just went to sleep, I just wanted to listen once again to this masterpiece, and I can understand the lyrics now. I don't know how, but they're so relatable, and I realize that they described my feelings when I first listened to it. Thank you.
As a musician for 17 years I've listened to a lot of music and a few of them almost made me cry. But THIS one made me shed tears like a little child. Thank you so much for sharing this masterpiece with the world, I still have tears in my eyes while writing this comment.
This song (among others, but this one has been on repeat for days) has saved me from the edge of sanity. was starting to loose myself completly in a mental spiral downwards, forced myself to hike for miles, across the dunes and along the raging sea, listening to this song brought me back. Even though, ill never really be comfortable trusting people again, i can and will trust nature and it's healing powers
I listen to music like this and it makes me feel like the whole of society is playing some sort of oddly cruel game. This endless cycle of pursuit--of things, of status, of money. We all dress up for this emotional costume party and wear the most ridiculous makeups all in effort to appear content and fulfilled to everyone around us--all the while our souls are starving and most of us are so numb to it that we don't even realize it. Where are the monks? the mystics? those drawn to the strange and unearthly powers of the forests and mountains and winds? There must be a world behind the veil--and it's music like yours that makes that veil ever-so slightly more transparent.
You've said it, the vague memory of who we really are. Or should become again, connected to the earth and eachother. Thank you for your excellent writing !
Wow, thats a powerful statement and i dont think you realize how many people, including myself that it speaks to. There is no amount of repentance to fix the damage of this world or the projected path its going down. We live in a terrifying time my friend😢❤
Hello, I'm also a musician, one of those who create to keep from bleeding out. For a year, I couldn't cry, I was completely blocked. I just discovered your music today, it's so beautiful and profound that I've finally been able to let it all out, to let all the pain flow, and what's more, I've written a poem, lyrics for a new song while listening to your incredible music. Thank you for this, from the bottom of my heart. May the gods bless you, Kalandra. 😭🖤
I’m a musician as well, and we may come from different worlds of music, but it’s always nice when we do connect with others. Often it seems these days ppl don’t even want to know who their neighbors are, let alone their own family’s. All I can say is hope that life gives you a new meaning and sense of worth. Best wishes.
I love it, being over 60% Scandinavian, hearing the stories from generations merging culture, history, love, and modernity into harmony to sing about the power in nature that we've so taken for granted and yet how we relate to our environment, space, our loved ones... keep witnessing and healing the forces for what we truly are and the Mother 🌎 ✨️🙏💖✨️❤️🩹🎵🎶🌍
I saw Leprous with a friend in Berlin and listened to Kalandra from outside the location as we didn't realize it was live. 😢 Fortunately I saw the last two songs and later on it felt like we missed the main act as they were so good. ❤
I cant listen without crying. Very few songs drive such emotion from me but its simply impossible for me. Its an amazing and brilliant song and couldnt have been voiced by a better singer.
This song really goes through blood and bone for me, every time i listen to it.. i struggle to keep tears back. The sheer beauty of her voice. The raw passion you feel in the song, the lyrics... it's simply overwhelming.
It's been over a year since I listened to this song for the first time and it completely swept me away. I listened to it so many times on repeat. It's the same with pretty much any other song you produced. So many emotions are invoked inside me: melancholy, hope, longing. There have been so many times that I listened to your songs to soothe and comfort me in times when my depression got the best of me. So many times I cried my eyes out. Kalandra and its music are a true gem. You've become one of my favourite bands, and I cannot wait to see you live, sing, dance, and cry in a sea of people. From the bottom of my heart: Thank you for making music. Thank you for existing. You deserve all the success in the world and I hope more people get to listen to you. ❤
I discovered this song last night through Spotify radio off another song. It was after midnight when I was getting into bed, using my headset to listen to some good vibes before sleep. As soon as the song started, I knew I'd found something special. But then I was hit by the changeup at 3:58, and it was so stunningly beautiful that I started to sob right there in bed, and I couldn't stop listening for another hour before forcing myself to sleep. In my thirty-two years of life, the song from 3:58 to 4:32 is one of the most heavenly things I have ever experienced. So I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your artistry with the world. ❤
As someone who struggles with depression, I cannot express how deeply this song has helped me in some of my deepest low points of late. Thank you for this, it's truly been such a blessing to find this xoxo
I adore this song. And when I listen I can’t help but feel that this is a sort of love song; about how the ocean and mountain are in love; how they meet and intertwine during every storm; and the bittersweet moment at the end when the storm is over, and the ocean is swept back out to be its true self, while the mountain can only watch, knowing he can’t follow, knowing that he never knows when she’ll be back, but also knowing that she will: eventually: always. And he’ll always be there for her return. A vicious cycle. On repeat, till the end of time... I find it beautiful, yet sad, like a tragic love story.
Easily the best song/video of 2020. I'm speechless. I haven't stopped playing this song since it was released and now it has an epic video along with it. Love you guys so much. Can't wait for the album.
I was laying on the grass, souronded by mountains and looking at the stars within nature listening it several evenings and last verse just makes me tear up every time. I can swear mountain and nature speaks to me.. ❤ Beautiful. Your voice... The sound... Oh my...
I just discovered this group and I find it fascinating, the vocalist is very beautiful and talented, there are different genres of music for all people but these types of songs make you experience different emotions and feel calm Greetings from El Salvador
I find the "story line" of the two men so well pictured. The one being rescued from the waves but being drawn back to the sea... kinda feels intensely relatable. This video is full of beautiful imagery and visuals and go along with the endlessly heartwrenching and beautiful song perfectly. This song and these images word and picture how I feel about the ocean pretty well :3
It's called addiction, loneliness , familiar spirits that is all we were taught some of us never knew true unconditional love 😭😭 There's always gonna be a raging storm 🙏. But the oceans obey the Lord. Satan has to obey him. Because even He knows better than anyone living being EVER And he knows he's cast back to hell 😭🙏🙏🙏🙏⚔️📜🛡️💯👏🗡️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
When she sings “Among the lonely rocks is where I lay my head I hear the ocean calling, "Come with me instead" it speaks to something within me and I cannot hold back the tears, my heart just aches. I’ve never listened to a song that resonates me with so much but is also soothing, beautiful and makes me reflect on who I was and who I am. 🖤
The bit that gets the tears going every time for me is the section change and "and I could swear that the ocean sings and the mountains talk to me" im just broke by that point
The people who use that button and the emoji button laugh on Facebook for no reason or logic is because all those people have an allergy to life and all the beauty that inhabits it, they are zombie people who want to harm because that pleases them

Know I’m gonna send this song for my family brother and my friends. Just to know I Will NOT care anymore for they love & I’m strong enough to be alone. Damn it... Love yourself first, then your mother, no matter what.
I chose this tune during a moment of random whimsy. Something to listen to while I worked on an art commission...instead I just stared at the empty page and listened to this alone on repeat. This is a triumph of sound that makes me hurt perfectly.

When hearts break, heal, or feel themselves they come to pour themselves out here, they listen to this and write out their feelings. It’s nice to know artists are able to connect with many of us through their music in such a powerful way.
I love her voice. Sharp and gently...
one song for crying the heart out
one song for soothing the unbearable pain
❤unbearable pain, the pain of missing who you love
My best friend.. I feel your soul calling to me, and I pray for you
I hear you ... 😔💔

@sallygoodman, thank you♡
Just feel something inside you your soul 🤍 from dark to light
What words cannot express, the heart will sing.
I discovered Kalandra through Warduna’s version of Helvegen, which I had discovered from their live performance of the song with Aurora, which has led me to conclude that Norwegians just have universal raw musical talent.
Check out Heilung.
It's strikes me sometimes in moods that we all r so wonderful
@Mark Archer another great artist that followed up these discoveries is Myrkur, specifically the album Folksange. Highly recommend
I"d expand that to say all of Scandinavia. lol There is just so much musical talent in that part of the world!
@@raudan3105 Strange... in the last week I've 'discovered' the three songs/bands in this thread, then come across the comments. (What incredible music!)
Thank you for making this, is amazing
oh my, we for sure need this to happen.
I agree. This gives me hope
You too ❤️
I literally have goosebumps right down my body! Your voice is completely heavenly!
Me mueeeero, entonces me apareció en recomendados por vos bar? Que locura amo esto mucho
I shed tears every time I listen to this song. An incomparable emotion and feeling overwhelm me. Thank you Kalandra for this masterpìece!!Forever in my heart!!
This song vibrates every atom in my soul every time I hear it.. Magical and pure.
The cinematography, the landscape, the lyrics, the actors, the... sea. Everything and I saw E V E R Y T H I N G is so perfect! Thanks for such a masterpiece.
I just can’t handle how beautiful this song is. It resonates with every single one of my cells....
I watched it in 4K and now my eyes and ears are blessed
For over a year, I have been trying to accurately describe the profundity I felt while visiting Iceland to my friends and family. Now I will just tell them to listen to this song.
My great grandmother immigrated from Iceland and I feel there is a part of my heart that is there. I want to go.....
I cried. 20x. Still do. It's a masterpiece.
@@kaanktea Whenever I need to cleanse my soul, I watch this video 🥲
This song (among others, but this one has been on repeat for days) has saved me from the edge of sanity.
was starting to loose myself completly in a mental spiral downwards, forced myself to hike for miles, across the dunes and along the raging sea, listening to this song brought me back.
Even though, ill never really be comfortable trusting people again, i can and will trust nature and it's healing powers
Karliene, Aurora, Kalandra what a life to have such music out there!
At least some of us can see the veil, and sometimes connect to the real world behind.
My friend google stoicism and start practicing, it will change your life.
Please look for it ...the world beyond...it must be there...this can't be the only thing. I'm dying and even I believe ❤
❤❤❤
❤❤❤
❤❤❤
I’m a musician as well, and we may come from different worlds of music, but it’s always nice when we do connect with others. Often it seems these days ppl don’t even want to know who their neighbors are, let alone their own family’s. All I can say is hope that life gives you a new meaning and sense of worth. Best wishes.
I love it, being over 60% Scandinavian, hearing the stories from generations merging culture, history, love, and modernity into harmony to sing about the power in nature that we've so taken for granted and yet how we relate to our environment, space, our loved ones... keep witnessing and healing the forces for what we truly are and the Mother 🌎 ✨️🙏💖✨️❤️🩹🎵🎶🌍
Absolutely one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, God bless you
An amazing piece, that gives such dimension and depth to the song! Well done my friends :)
Saw Kalandra supporting Leprous in London and they were incredible. I can confirm they sound just as good live.
I saw them supporting leprous in Bristol and it was awesome!
I sadly missed part of their act because my bus got delayed, but the end of it captured me enough to look them up.
Saw them in Helsinki and my gosh they sound incredible live 👌
I saw Leprous with a friend in Berlin and listened to Kalandra from outside the location as we didn't realize it was live. 😢 Fortunately I saw the last two songs and later on it felt like we missed the main act as they were so good. ❤
Saw them at London too. She is quite awe inspiring
I cant listen without crying. Very few songs drive such emotion from me but its simply impossible for me. Its an amazing and brilliant song and couldnt have been voiced by a better singer.
The quintessence of Nordic nature is Katrine voice and Jogeir, Kenneth and Florian music. Love it guys! Can't wait for the album 🌊🍃❄️❤️
This song makes me long to go into the earth... thank you for the reminder of where we came from and who we truelly are. ..
Fell in love with her voice by accident and now I can't sleep at night with out it. It's beautiful and majestic. I'm in love with everything nordic
Kalandra and Aurora need to do a collab😍
😍
Kalandra, Aurora and Mili are atm my fav female singers.
Да, предполагаю, это будет чудесный дуэт.
Plus Tim Foust.
Kalaurora or Aurlandra?🤔
First time hearing this band, wow! Nordic music speaks to the soul, primal and timeless. What a captivating masterpiece.
I'm crying, this song hit me direct on the soul! This is a MASTERPIECE!!!!♥
Never lose hope.
@@m.af.i.a depends what type of hope.
I find it beautiful, yet sad, like a tragic love story.
.thanks🙏
Easily the best song/video of 2020. I'm speechless. I haven't stopped playing this song since it was released and now it has an epic video along with it. Love you guys so much. Can't wait for the album.
Agree!! Music of life, who could ask for more....
I love these norwegian music artists, their music makes you feel like your a faerie in a fantasy connected with mother earth
Dette var helt nydelig! Så utrolig mange flotte artister i Norge ! Kalandra er helt der oppe.
This masterpiece brought tears into my eyes. I couldn't move for few minutes after this song, to not disturb the chills it gave me...
same!
I find the "story line" of the two men so well pictured.
The one being rescued from the waves but being drawn back to the sea... kinda feels intensely relatable.
This video is full of beautiful imagery and visuals and go along with the endlessly heartwrenching and beautiful song perfectly.
This song and these images word and picture how I feel about the ocean pretty well :3
It's a very poetic way of portraying letting go.
@@Massivecarcrash Oooh yes, exactly. It's all a beautiful, incredibly accurate metaphor for loss and letting go, indeed.
This song makes a grown man shed a tear. And proudly so. Thank you guys.
When she sings “Among the lonely rocks is where I lay my head
I hear the ocean calling, "Come with me instead" it speaks to something within me and I cannot hold back the tears, my heart just aches. I’ve never listened to a song that resonates me with so much but is also soothing, beautiful and makes me reflect on who I was and who I am. 🖤
Same 🥰
Same here❤
The bit that gets the tears going every time for me is the section change and "and I could swear that the ocean sings and the mountains talk to me" im just broke by that point
"yet I'm reminded of my beating heart " gets me every time.
But she can't love you
, like you love her. There's no mercy from Mother Earth.... So true! Beautiful.
I repeat ...someone needs to explain to poeple that thumbs down are not download buttons. THIS IS HUGE I LOVE IT.
Ha ha :)
Agreed 😂
Uhm, there are only 13 dislikes. That’s really good.
What can I say 👍👍👍👍✌✌🤙👌
The people who use that button and the emoji button laugh on Facebook for no reason or logic is because all those people have an allergy to life and all the beauty that inhabits it, they are zombie people who want to harm because that pleases them
What is it bout music like this? I luv all music but i don't get the same feelings when listening to rap techno pop reggae etc. Music like this frees me, makes me feel one with the gods, immortal. My Spirit fights to break free from this physical body that houses it. Thank u
This came across my suggested and I clicked it and I couldn't be happier that I did. This song does something to my soul I can't even begin to put into words. I can't stop listening. ❣️🎶
потрясающееЗАДУШЕВНОЕисполнение...БЛАГО ДАРЮ РЕБЯТА!
Oh my god (and I'm not even religious) I'm sitting here flabbergasted by this song.....this one touches directly into my soul.
Kalandra was on my list to buy....had not gotten around to it, came across their music again and ordered all 3 cd's...2 came in yestetday. GREAT music!
Her voice is so beautiful... It gives me peace 🖤 Beautiful song! ✨
This song needs more exposure! this is an incredible masterpiece!
C'est magnifique ❤
This takes me to a place i have been longing for. A place where my soul is at peace and my body stays calm and my shoulders stay down.
This music speaks to my soul on levels the human brain cannot comprehend!
Qué bonito.
This might be one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my entire life.
this song always seems to find you when you need it
Ive listened over 20 times already and my eyes still well up with tears. Nice job Kalandra. You hit something very special with this one
Que música! Que voz! maravilhosas! Sem música com certeza a vida seria um erro...
This song transcends time and space. It speaks for the Ancestors and the future generations. Humanity has and will always be a mysterious and beautiful creation.
😳
Thank you Kalandra, for listening to the mountains and oceans.
Truly epic. Very few artists grab me, but this band... captivated and swept away
Потрясающе атмосферная песня. Заставляющая вибрировать каждую клетку тела.
This isn't fantasy either. The world talks to you if you listen... what a beautiful stirring song and insightful too.
He flipado ,el sonido del viento con las olas del mar ....de repente su voz que te eleva la música te envuelve y entra dentro de ti hasta tu alma ...importante día chicos guapos 😉no se puede pedir más fantástico 🤘😘
different dimension ..they are on another level ..incredible band
Jesus I love this group so much! The image is perfect! Loved the vibe. Also, I have a friend that every time I show him one indie clip that I like, he goes to the coments to see if I have made any comentary. So this final mensage is for him: Um cheiro Gabriel!
been repeating this song over and over again, i don't just hear it as music, i FEEL it resonating in me, the visuals and story that unfolds as i listen to this beautiful song
This music is unbelievably gorgeous.
This song is beautiful and very spiritual...but sad.. And i've experienced spiritual comfort, deeper than this, and beautiful, warm to the heart.. Come to the light..
I'm norse pagan and this song speaks to me on a whole new level. It's like the gods have spoken to me through this song.
So stunning and beautiful! listening on loop. Thank you for your Music!!!Love from Germany
Not a single hair on my body, didnt raise itself in salute, when i heard This !!!
Same...and I’m completely shaven!😌
Lol. Yes...chills... heavenly
That's one way of putting it

Fing what you got she got a voice
Wow Norway is incredibly beautiful.
Hauntingly beautiful ❤️ As someone who has stood on the edge and still do, I find a strange comfort in this song.
The moment you discover something so full of unerring beauty in life that also holds so much unbridled sadness and tragedy beneath the surface.
This song seriously played tug of war with my emotions and thoughts from beginning to end ...
Yet, we are still alone....
I haven't found a song yet that speaks to me so deeply. This whole song is amazingly accurate in the range and depth of emotions contained within it.
A moment of silence for those who still didn't find this Masterpiece❄
