when I listened to Petals for Armour I thought it was so vulnerable and honest .... then I heard Flowers for Vases and it ripped my heart out but in the best way
This is so true. I now see PFA in contrast and think this album, FFV, is so absolutely intimate. And when PFA came out, it felt already so vulnerable, so open. But FFV is different. It's like one sunday session of just pouring your heart out. It's absolutely a masterpiece and I think the albums gain by being combined.

I've been listening to the album non stop since it was released at midnight and man did i cry listening to it 😂 im just so proud of her, she's been through so much and she is getting through it and even sharing bits with us

Can we get the full interview? I’m so sad I didn’t get to hear her talk about all the songs. As I *cry* through all of these, I’m trying to understand them and need guidance from the writer. It’s helping me tie loose ends of my divorce ❤️

Would it make sense if I said I'm not ready for a new album? Every time I listen to music that Hayley has written on, it makes me confront my emotions because she she has a knack for tapping into her own feelings and thoughts in a way that feels parallel to my own, and having time to sit with those feelings is necessary. So after Petals for Armor I feel like I'm still living in that reality and I'm nervous to crack myself open at the surface again so soon.... reading that back it sounds hella pretentious but thats how I feel.

100% - I feel this. The way I could tell was how I completely broke down and sobbed my way through the first listen of the new album. To be totally honest I'm still recovering. This. It's what happened. Flowers for Vases broke me in new and beautiful ways even after being saw raw from still healing through Petals for Amour but simultaneously, it is all so worth it. It's truly healing.
As I'm listening to this I just gotta say, this is one of the most beautiful and open albums I've ever listened to. I'm still young and I've never felt heartbreak before, but for some reason it felt like i did know while listening to this album. I love it so much and I will never stop listening to it.
I love that she talked about going to therapy! Not all celebrities are strong enough to admit it. It's so important to break the therapy tabu.
I love Hayley and Zane's interviews. He always goes that extra mile and asks the deep cut questions and Hayley's answers never fail to amaze me.

So her going down the folky route isn't far-fetched, even though her voice is larger-than-life for someone who had been a Punk Juggernaut, vocally-speaking, for most of their musical tenure. Hm. She helped so much of us older millennials get through some tough times. I love her like family. I wish I knew her personally so wanting to embrace her wouldn't seem overly-imposing. I listened to her new record and her voice sounds so different from how I remember her sounding. So much so that I kept checking if I was actually listening to her or someone else.
its because she didnt do vocal warm-ups before recording it so the vocals wouldnt sound the same as the paramore albums
@@burythecastle4692, not warming-up does not change the timbre of your voice. The only change it makes is when singing is one of the first things you do when you wake up - in this case, your voice will sound lower than normal because the larynx will be relaxed. Other than that, not warming-up effects on the way the voice sounds are minimal.
Her voice sounds different than Paramore records for two main reasons: 1. when people get older, both their timbre and their vocal range change due to physical transformations, a natural consequence of aging; 2. her singing approach on her solo career is way different than in the first 3 Paramore albums and different than Paramore most recent records. On PFA and especially on FFV, she sings slow-tempo songs and at a lower range than on Paramore songs, which tend to be either faster, or written in high-pitched tonalities, or both.

Probably cause all the songs are in a much much lower register than Paramore albums. Listen to the sudden desire chorus, and it's very reminiscent of old/young paramore
