Fast sales video. It tells you what you can do but not how to do it. I learned nothing. I have no idea how to use the app, like how do you get your photos uploaded? Can I choose photo I do not want uploaded? I am completely confused
Just about to get a new phone after far too long and the new one doesn't have expandable storage so am having to sort through 5 years of pics and videos. I'd already found this app but your video was very helpful, now to watch your other one on organisation :)
That is great that you are starting to sort all those photos, I love to hear that. If you are sorting them with a computer as well I would also recommend checking out deduplication tools, they will blow your mind!😁Happy Sorting!
Once you reach your 5 Gb storage on videos will it stop backing the videos until you pay, or will it continue to back up and start to change? 2. Just like backing out photos to Amazon, can I transfer or back them back from Amazon to my I phone if needed.
Once you reach your video limit it will just stop syncing the videos. When you log on you will it will warn you that you have reached your limit, it doesn't just start charging you so if you just want to use it for Photos you are all good. 😁
@@amandalittlecott thank you so much for replying back. I might just use it for photos since it’s free. I like the fact that my photos don’t delete if I delete them on my phone.
The only thing I don’t like about the Amazon photo storage is that during an ongoing text message I can not add a random photo from the stored photos that is no longer on my iPhone without leaving the conversation, opening the app, choosing the photo, sending it to my phone, saving it to my photos, then start a new text conversation and choosing that saved photo from my iPhone photos and adding it to the new message. You can start a new message from the photo app after choosing the photo but not very convenient or handy when having a conversation already. Do you agree?
@@amandalittlecott just to simplify a little, I’ve figured out you can during the on going text go to Amazon photo app, select saved photo, copy, go back to text conversation and paste to text message. Not too bad and a bit simpler.
Just uploading now to Amazon photo, have a couple of questions if you don’t mind. You say it does not sync, that means if I want to delete a photo I have to do it once on the phone and once on Amazon? That would make Amazon a great photo dump but if you where to use it as a source could be a pain trolling through thousands of unsorted photos. Also I uploaded from my iPad and phone separately. Most of the photos are the same, will they be duplicated, I didn’t rename them so they have the same file name or will Amazon just /2 them? Thanks for any reply and very good informative video
So the sync is that yes it does it one way from your Phone to Amazon, so if you delete a photo on your phone it stays in Amazon photos (unlike Apple Photos for example so the theory is that it is more secure from accidental deleting) so if you are auto uploading you will get everything going up. If you are on an Android phone you can control what is uploaded to just one folder so you put the photos you want to load and it only looks at that folder. For Apple, the option is to manually upload and select what you want to go up, which is not exactly perfect. As for duplicates, it checks to see if the photo already exists before it tries to load it up, so you should be safe there. Sorry, it is not all good news! 🙃
@@GrumpyGarry121 you are very welcome and OOOO nice option for your photos and I would definitely be in favour of some folders... I love a bit of organisation! 😁
Oh yes that is very true, if you check out some of my other videos you will see I talk about it ALOT (sorry if you get bored with me talking about it!) 😃
If I don’t have a computer can I still use the Amazon Photo? My phone is full of photos and videos. Can I still send them to be stored? And is there a way I can download them from Amazon Phone to a flash drive??? Thank You for your time
So yes you can get them to auto-save from your phone to Amazon photos and they will be a proper backup in Amazon photos safe and sound. But remember if you are a big video taker you will have to pay for additional video storage. As for downloading without a computer, it is possible but you will have to be very patient. You can select the photos and use the share option to share them with a USB that you can get to plug directly into your phone (check out some of the photo-specific ones out there) or you can use a Hard drive with its own Wifi connection (but they can be a bit pricey). It would be sooooo much easier with a computer, sorry! 😁
I've researched Apple Photos, Google Photos and now I'm looking at Amazon Photos (thanks Amanda!) but the key feature I want is the ability to add key words to a photo for searching purposes by others I share the others with (e.g. "Aunt Sally"). Amazon drive sort-of works since you can construct a file name but now I see Drive is going away. Apple Photos truly has a keywords field for each photo, EXCEPT it isn't supported for Shared Albums (Grrrr!). Any thoughts?
Thanks for the video on Amazon Photos. I have uploaded photos to this program and it works well. The exception is DNG files that are created from Adobe Lightroom from Nikon native files. Why are the photos not shown? The requirements page clearly notes that DNG files are acceptable. Please advise.
Hey Christopher, yes they shouldn't be a problem... but let me do some testing to see if I can work out why. One question, what is the file size you are trying to load up and is there anything special about them, like a panorama?
Ah well if that is what you want then check out this video where are talk you through all your cloud options.... ruclips.net/video/XDEpvtRAPmQ/видео.html. 😁

I am looking at my Amazon prime photos now and it is saying that photos is unlimited. It says that videos are limited to 5 gigabytes for free. Wish Amazon would let you put docs on here, too.
Mine has been downloading photos from my phone for last 2 hours. I only wanted to pick a few photos to print. I have no idea what is going on with this app. It's even downloading my videos. Will I be charged?
Oh man that is annoying, are you using the app on your phone or the web page? It might be worth checking out the desktop to download your photos if you are having trouble with the phone or web page. You should not be charged by Amazon but if you are using data you may need to make sure it is not using your phone data to download your images. You could get a nasty phone bill! 🙂
That is a bit odd, I would check the settings to see if videos are backing-up on each device. Also are all the devices synced to Apple photos as on Apple devices it will just look at Apple Photos and back-up that up, unlike on Android where you can choose what to back-up.🙂
Hey, for Amazon Photos you have the link, email or Facebook that you have found, but you can also share via the Family Vault, up to 5 people can join your Family Vault and you can add videos and photos into the vault for others to see. I hope that solves your problem! 😁
Sadly yes Amazon Drive has been discontinued ☹ It was one of my favourite features of Amazon Photos. I am going to make an updated video to reflect this sad change 🙃
Hey, to load specific photos to albums you first need to load them into the photos vault. Then you can create an album for them to go into. However to make it easier I would do this on the online version rather than your phone as then you can use the filters on the left hand side to filter your photos to add them to albums. Unfortunately, Amazon photos doesn't have the function where you can load photos directly up into albums sorry!
Do you mean you have multiple Amazon Accounts or multiple people using your account? Others will only see your photos if you either share with them specifically or they are using your account. By loading to Amazon photos you are not sharing with the world, if that is what you mean... let me know and I can confirm exactly the situation. 🙂

I don't want the family members I share my password/Prime with too have access to my photos. If there's no way to keep mine separate and viewable by only me, then it's useless.
Unfortunately there is no way of restricting access to your photos if they have your password, as they assume if you have the login you would want to see the photos. Sorry.
The limits are 20 minutes for the length of a video and 2GB of size per video, but worth a try now that Amazon Drive is no more! Obviously as for the total amount, it is all down to how much you are willing to pay extra for! 🙃
