    What is your go-to Cloud Storage for your Photos? I would love to hear about them and any you think I have missed out 😁

      I don't even know that. I don't know what cloud. If it is in the east or west clouds. I am lost that's why I get scammed all the time. It's a shame an innocent person can't go on line and have a good time. I hate the Internet they stole my pictures....

    😍 I got to meet this lovely lady today on zoom! I began scanning all my photos and negatives last year and finally completed that task! Now I have been faced with the challenge of backing up my digital treasure and weeding out thousands of duplicates 🫣 I now have a clear plan on which app and program will suit me best! Thank you Amanda for easing the confusion in my head.

    Hi Amanda, great video!
    I'm currently an Amazon Photos user, but they recently seem to have removed a feature which I liked: I used the auto-upload feature so all of my photos would auto-back up via the App. Then, on a periodic basis, I would delete from the App and stuff I didn't want to keep and it would also give me the option to delete from my Phone.
    Now, this feature has gone to its doubled my workload (so I turned the auto upload off).
    Does Google have this feature as far as you know? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Amanda, I just found your channel tonight and am very impressed with all your content! I'm just embarking on backing up our family's entire photo repertoire that dates back to the 1920s (including digital photos, scanned photos, scanned slides, digital videos, and digitized videotapes) to a cloud-based service, but I'm still overwhelmed and confused as to what service to use. The most important features for us are an editable file structure (which sadly rules out Amazon Photos), unlimited storage for video as well as photos, being able to tag people, and being able to share with friends/family. Do you have some ideas that could help direct us that encompasses all those? Thank you!

    • @amandalittlecott
      @amandalittlecott  10 месяцев назад

      For storage, I would check out SmugMug as you can get unlimited, but to do the work you would need to do that outside of SmugMug as it will take you a ton of time to do it in the programme. If you are feeling technical you could check out Adobe Lightroom that links directly to SmugMug. Or another option for storage and tagging that I am currently loving is Mylio so check that one out. Good luck! 😁

    I’m sticking with Dropbox and SmugMug as Google was having a out of space error even though I had loads of space. Also Google thumbnails are zoomed in where as Dropbox shows thumbnails that represent the photo aspect. Basically none are perfect and although Dropbox is so reliable and fast it is as you say featureless and hasn’t evolved for years.

    • @amandalittlecott

      That is a great mix of options! But totally with you on the Dropbox developments, hopefully that changes as I do really like how easy it works across all devices! 🤞😁

    • @amandalittlecott
      @amandalittlecott  4 месяца назад

      If you are using a proper backup cloud service, the data should be there, but if you are using iCloud, which is a syncing service, then if they have deleted the data from your cloud it will be gone unless you have an offline Mac copy.

      If you have an iPhone you will have them in the iCloud, so go to icloud.com and login with your Apple ID to check. If Android, check in Google Photos, they might be there.

    Google Photos does not support all photos shot in the RAW format.

    • @amandalittlecott
      @amandalittlecott  Год назад

      Yes always good to research what each tool can accept when it comes to files, although I find if you are shooting in Raw probably Google Photos or any photo app is probably not going to cut it when it comes to your needs as you are want to have more control over your files. Thanks for highlighting the challenge. 😁

    • @amandalittlecott
      @amandalittlecott  Год назад +1

      Hey, so if you are ever thinking you might move away from iPhone, then don't just use Apple Photos. The iPhone will use it as the default for your photos but you need something else as well to make sure you can move it if you need to. If you like fancy AI then Google Photos and Amazon Photos are worth looking at. If you just want them stored then Dropbox and OneDrive have apps that will autoload your photos to them. I hope that helps!😁

    0:47, jealous no, envious yes. Jealous is the fear of losing someone important to you to someone else, thus feeling or showing suspicion of someone's unfaithfulness in a relationship:. Recall the saying, "the green eyes of jealousy". Whereas envy means, "painful or resentful awareness of an advantage enjoyed by another joined with a desire to possess the same advantage". Thus jealous for envy is an all too common mistake.

      @@TiredofEarth if you are loading to google photos or amazon they will be scanning your photos so that all that fancy AI searching is possible, it is the same with Apple. It is always a balance between the functions you want and your privacy. Thank you for this video. I was considering changing from Dropbox to Google One (including Google Photos), but I think I will stay with Dropbox even if I think it's a bit too expensive. I like that my photos and videos are all backed up in one specific folder, then I can move them in specific folders. I couldn't do that with OneDrive or Google photos or Amazon Photos. I can't file the folder where my photos are uploaded, so I can't organize them the way I want.
      Another topic for me (I don't know if you covered this in another video, I just discovered your channel) is I don't want to have copies of my photos on multiple clouds. Especially for photos I will want to delete. I don't want to do the job multiple times. And I care about😊
