    While I thank you for the videos. I have to let people know that if you have severe Cervical instability in your atlas to C2. Do not, I repeat do not do chin tuck exercises. I have been dealing with disabling CCI for years. And have spoke to many doctors and many many people like me. If your atlas is moving around and unstable. Chin tucking will make it worse. The chin tuck exercise will strengthen your ligaments in your neck. And these exercises will work for minor instability. Just be cautious of this exercise if your atlas is popping out or you have so much instability that your vagus nerve is being stretched. Please don't take this as being argumentative. I wouldn't wish severe CCI on anyone. And I don't want anyone that has it to make it worse. Hope everyone stays healthy and has a blessed day.

      I noticed chin tucks do make me worse. Which exercises are safe for severe CCI? The longer I lay here bedridden with CCI, the worse I'm getting.

      @@Bikepacker every CCI can be different depending on what ligaments have became loose and which way the vertebrates are shifting. Unfortunately I have not found an exercise that has had a lot of improvement for me. CCI just gets worse. What I recommend first is to see a certain type of chiropractor. I suggest a Nucca cervical chiropractor. Or orthogonal chiropractor. These two chiropractors use soft manipulate to put your atlas and cervical spine back in place. I see a cervical Nucca chiropractor. Do not go to a chiropractor that uses hard popping manipulation. This will make it way worse. Is your atlas shifting around or popping out? If so, wear a neck brace after seeing the chiropractor just for a few days to help keep everything in place. Also if your neck curve is straight up or going the wrong way. Getting your curve back is super helpful. I roll up a towel and lay back on it because it's more gentle on my neck than a hard roll. In my case it will take more than exercise or curve correction to heal my CCI. I am going to be going to a place in Colorado that specializes in CCi and try there prolotherapy and PRP to tighten the ligaments. What have you tried medically so far? Have you tried prolotherapy?

      Centeno Schultz clinic in Colorado is where I will be going. I have already been to caring medical in Fort myers Florida. My experience. Caring medical helps with mild CCi. But someone with moderate to major CCI like myself. Caring medical may not help. You can look up both places and they have very good information online and on you tube. While Caring medical has a lot more videos and info it seems. They only do basic prolotherapy. Centeno Schultz does basic to very complex therapies. The only downfall is both are expensive.

    • @Bikepacker
      @Bikepacker 8 месяцев назад

      @@paulwelch9906 I went to Centeno-Schultz last year to check CCI. Dr. Schultz said at that point it wasn't to bad and to just do PT. I'm once again a current patient there for something else and will be talking with them about the CCI in a couple weeks. I had the PRP in my lumbar last year but it didn't help. I'm allergic to an ingredient in the PICL. All so expensive. Truly hoping I can still get everything fixed with these exercises. The Nucca made me worse and the AO has done nothing.

    I'm so grateful to have found your channel. I've been bedridden from a cerebral spinal fluid leak for nearly 3 years, and as such have developed severe CCI. Is this a safe way to start with rehabbing my neck? I can't afford a PT. Just sitting up or standing hurts my neck and head after a couple minutes. (nerve pain in head(?)). I miss having no neck pain and a strong neck!

    You said that it should be better after 6-8 weeks. But my question is. Do I have to do these exercises for the rest of my life daily or can I reduce them after a few months?
    No for how long should I do them daily when I don’t want relapsing?

    Thank you for your videos. They’re very helpful. I’ve saved the entire playlist. I have hEDS along with CCI. I was curious if you know of anyone in the Denver area or even remotely that could help me with physical therapy for the hypermobile eds? I am only 38 and I’ve lost an entire decade of my life to this. Lyme disease brought it all out. But I am very weak and afraid to do much because of this and need help of a professional. However, not many out there know how to help those with hEDS. Would appreciate if you knew of anyone to share. Thanks.

I wasn’t like this until getting Lyme disease 😢😔 I used to exercise a lot and love the outdoors.

    Thank you so much for these exercises, it's exactly what I've been looking for. How long do you think before results are visible? Also how frequently should I be doing all of them and what's the recommended recovery time? Than you again!

    • @MovementFunction
      @MovementFunction  Год назад +9

      It typically takes about 6 weeks to begin seeing results but you might start noticing improvement sooner. Daily performance is best, 1-2 times per day. Posture correction is important throughout the day and often it's helpful to do just 1-2 reps of the exercises several times a day. If you notice muscle soreness, excessive fatigue or a feeling of increased weakness, then decrease the reps or frequency, take a day off and return to the exercises with fewer reps, building up gradually.

    Hi Beth. I wanted to run something by you. I have C5 - C7 fused about 9 years ago. I also know from extension / flection x-rays my C4 - C2 don't move well. When golfing back in July I started to feel numbness across my lower left jaw that radiated down into my neck. I also stated getting tingling and burning on the back left side of my head. It seems that turning my head to the left causes this to get worse. Would you recommend these same exercises for someone in my condition with my other issues going on? thank you.

    Ok. What does it mean when you become instantly symptomatic, just when sitting in proper posture? Sweating, instant dizziness, ringing ears, pounding headache... all the symptoms?
    Going to wait until this spell is over and try again. On the upside it would be amazing if i could actually make my symptoms act up for a doctor.

    • @MovementFunction

      Sometimes proper posture is too much of a correction, resulting in provocation of symptoms. If you find this to be consistent, definitely show it to your doctor.

    Hi I’ve heard that chin ticks are bad and worsen kyphosis so should you still do them if not what exercise could replace? Also if you have cervical instability because of lax ligaments in the c1 is stretching safe or will it make it worse?

    • @MovementFunction
      @MovementFunction  Год назад +2

      I have not seen that chin tucks (cervical retraction, not chin to chest/cervical flexion) worsen kyphosis. When done correctly, cervical retraction helps to strengthen and stabilize the cervical spine and restore neutral alignment. Stretching is not a good idea when there are lax ligaments at C1 as it will only increase the laxity in the area.
