Tip #6 - Stop chasing social trends. You've got more important things to do. Besides, high-quality photography customers are not on TicTok...and probably not on RUclips, unless your customer IS a photographer and you are selling B2B. Focus on your portfolio website and direct marketing. Instagram has value as a portfolio distribution service, but who cares if 10 million people around the world see your pictures? What you need is 100 people in your own city to see it...and that comes from paid advertising.
Thanks this is probably much better advice than how to maximise social media .. yeah some photographers can be successful through trends on social media but they usually just end up selling their tutorials and such rather than getting hired for actual photography which you have to treat more at a local level
She did wonderful in explaining and they're practical tips. I personally hate using social media to engage (but I'm also super restricted in free time, so maybe when I'm "established")
Being "established" doesn't give you more free time...rather the opposite. Some people do just like the validation of social media...they like "likes" for the sake of likes. Other people are validated by having paying clients. It's a paradox. Ideally, one's billable hours would preclude time for social media, which is the primary purpose for being on social media. To be fully successful in social media is to have less time for social media.
Yep it's not 5x7.. and a lot of successful instagram photographers don't always use 4x5 either especially if they sell prints.. Sometimes they put borders on a photo it's easier to visualize as a print. Crop where is looks best for your photo IMO don't just make it 4x5 for ig
What tips would you add to Tati's?
Instagram isn't 5x7 it's 4X5 if you use the maximum amount of space without having borders and such
true! thought the same thing!!!
