I post their sneak peeks on my Facebook page while I’m editing their sessions so the customer gets excited to receive their photos and they share the post, therefore receiving more clicks to my page!!
This is the video I needed to hear. I feel like I've exhausted myself trying to search on the best ways to grow on instagram and all of the vanity metric type of stuff. What I need to focus on is my customers! Thank you for this!
Seriously. Of allllll the videos I have watched to help grow, this is what I really needed. For me, I need to better my quality and relationship. Back to the lab I go 😎
This is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. I'm buying some land in the country next year. I plan to build an indoor/ outdoor studio with multiple outdoor settings. I already knew I had to make it a destination to compete with in town studios. Now, I'm thinking of what products, services, and experiences I can provide to make it over the top.
I love your content! This makes perfect sense! Ive been putting off creating a business & putting my pics online because I feel overwhelmed by all the marketing I see on socail media but now feel after watching this video changing focus to creating a product and experience better use of my time rather than being paralysed with fear & overwhelm due to what I'm seeing on social media. thank you ☺
Very true. And so, from your experience, what are some things that add value to your services? I think about special locations, pre- and post-consultations, intentional outfits, shoot concepts that are special, unique and meaningful to the client, creating an environment where clients can actually have fun as opposed to pretending to have fun for photos, and maybe somehow telling their story to the world beyond just photos (behind the scenes, blogging, videoclips). I know some people who will create slideshows and viewings of the shoot, all while offering snacks and drinks, and showing print/album options, etc. What are your thoughts?
What an amazing video! Thank you, I really needed to take a step back and look at things from this angle. I’m looking forward to becoming the best I can be and bringing more value to others than I thought possible. Thank you so much! 🙌
As a photographer, most of my growth as a business came through referrals and then i stopped focusing on the product na started getting worried about the marketing and then i started squandering the service which led to a decline in the referrals so i totally understand the relevancy of this video. Thank you for the reminder
I will also say, someone getting into this or anything. It is so hard to do this solo, and like most things, others arent to helpful to show you the ropes. Loved the video
Hey man, great content! Do you mind explain a little bit more on question 2.? do you mean charge 1/10 of what I am charging now, but then deliver the same work as I currently doing?
Sir I need a budget laptop for photo editting on Lightroom (mostly Jpeg). CAn u reccomend some good laptops ( around 800 - 1100 USD ) thanks sir. i don't play games, i just use youtube, lightroom, i think i need a high %Srgb screen right ?
Well then I don't understand what's wrong with me. I don't take the best photographs in the world but they are definitely better than what I see from most photographers in my area and beyond and the experience my clients have is exceptional. At the end of the day I think it is the prices and the importance. Everyone likes impressive photos but no one is willing to pay for them if what they want is a simple souvenir taken in the style of a tourist (stand there and smile).
Hey Peter! First off, I can relate. When I was building my business I used to get so confused because photographers I knew who I personally thought had subpar work were booking way more shoots than I was. In hindsight (at least for me) I now see two things: 1) I wasn't as good as I thought I was. At the end of the day, the customer determines what they will and won't pay for... My style of shooting just wasn't what they wanted, so even though I THOUGHT it was better, since they didn't, it didn't matter. 2) In the end, it's not about whether you price high or low or in between - It's about whether or not your target customer thinks what you're offering is worth what they'd have to trade to purchase it. Those were just two things I learned that would have helped me - Don't know if they're applicable to you because obviously I have zero clue about where you shoot, what your work looks like etc. I wish you the very best though!
@@SignatureEdits You have some good points. When I say that my photos are better than those of neighboring photographers I mean it with a certain degree of humility and I am usually brutally honest with myself. And you are right as to the clients that I must get right. If I told you that a super famous magazine gave me the opportunity, I would probably not accept it because I will not be able to take the photos they ask for because I do not have the experience and possibly the means. But I can do many other things better than the photographers in the country where I live who give away photos of tourists for pennies.
There are ALWAYS people who will take u up on free photos - the trick is in finding them :) You can also reach out to friends and family and ask them as a favor just to practice and build portfolio! good luck Dusty :)
Super helpful to think through! Thank you! My turn around times are a big reason I get referrals, but also being prepared to direct my clients during shoots and taking charge on wedding days is the number 1 thing I think that wows our clients.
Very interesting approach, which is pretty much where I am as a photographer. As I am at the moment doing photography as a side job, I don´t really need the income. I have done some paid jobs, a wedding, realestate etc. My main goal though at the moment is getting better and one area I am working on is the editing, especially the color tone of my pictures, making a series of pictures have a certain common look. Some wedding photographers I see on the web and whose work I admire use brownish tones or orange and tiel for example. I saw your 2.5 hour wedding edit where you are going mostly for natural colors. I am somewhat confused. How can I ad quality to my work by having a certain look in a series of pictures? Any thoughts?
I see! If thats the case and clients are raving to you, then it might just mean you need to be direct and ASK them. This makes a massive difference especially for commercial work, and if they are truly thrilled, they will be happy to do so! Give it a try and lmk how it goes
What's the number 1 thing you do to blow your clients away with their experience? Share below!
First I shoot them with my camera, then I shoot them with my gun. Clients are blown away.

I am doing the same but on Instagram story, free ad for 24h when they repost the story during editing process 😅🙏
@@softiczlatan So cool, I have just been emailing them teasers, which they love, but Im sure there is no reach beyond that. Thanks for that.

Bravo for the phrase "vanity metric type of stuff" ...
That is very true, I started my photography business and all the clients I had to work with are coming from previous clients who liked my work.
Love that! You must be doing something very right Fidelio!
I can't say I have done everything to earn new business, but a reminder that the work speaks for itself is probably what I needed to hear
Thank you

thank you it was a great learning .
What if you are just starting? How do you get your first few customers.
great question! honestly second shooting and free shoots to build portfolio are the best things u can do!
