- Today I review the NEW VERY limited Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut from Krispy Kreme®! ($2.49)
In anticipation of Monday’s total solar eclipse, Krispy Kreme has just announced the launch of its newest creation: the Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut. This limited-time treat features an Original Glazed Doughnut dipped in rich black chocolate icing, garnished with silver sprinkles, filled with a buttercream infused with Oreo cookie pieces, and crowned with a whole Oreo cookie at its center.
Available from Friday, April 5, through Monday, April 8, 2024, eager doughnut enthusiasts can satisfy their cravings in-store or opt for pickup or delivery via Krispy Kreme’s app and website, while supplies last. Fans have the option to purchase the Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut individually or as part of a specialty dozen, which includes six Total Solar Eclipse Doughnuts and six classic Original Glazed doughnuts.
This isn’t the first time Krispy Kreme has marked a total solar eclipse with a special creation. Back in 2017, during the last total solar eclipse visible in the US, the brand unveiled a twist on its iconic Original Glazed doughnut by coating it in chocolate glaze for the very first time.
The Total Solar Eclipse Doughnut adds to Krispy Kreme’s legacy of commemorating space-related events with innovative treats and promotions. From serving fresh Original Glazed doughnuts at NASA’s Apollo 11 Mission launch viewing site in 1969 to more recent creations like the Mars Doughnut in 2021 and the Artemis Moon Doughnut in 2022, the brand has consistently celebrated astronomical milestones.

Thanks for reviewing this item. I heard about it a few days ago on the local news. Also the last total eclipse was August 21, 2017. I only remember that date because my dad passed away August 24, 2017 from cancer. I was 26 that year. I’m usually not that good with remembering dates.
My condolences. Rest in peace your papa. My papa passed 10 years before that - still feels like yesterday. I hope you are doing okay and hope you get through this eclipse with good memories of your dad. Take care!
@@jbjacobs9514thank you. I’m definitely doing much better this time around than 2017. My dad was a cigarette smoker and he was exposed to asbestos that’s why he got colon cancer. He was 64. Sorry for your loss as well.

Okay, Bonnie Tyler! hehehe I got to see the last eclipse on the lawn at the ECU campus in NC where I was working at the time with all the faculty and students in Biology and Physics. It was so much fun! I won't have them all this time, but can't wait to see it at UIUC this time if the weather holds. Not a KK fan but I like the way they decorated the "moon dust" crystals on the top. KK donuts are basic on a good day. Never understood the allure of such pedestrian (at best) donuts...

Oh you are the first one i have watched do this review. Go you! Here in Nova Scotia its supposed to be 100% solar eclipse. Depending on weather of course. 🙄 I dont have any glasses though.

I think the path of totality is from Texas to Maine but other states will still see a partial eclipse.

So it's not a filled donut but a donut with a hole? Thats weird... But, we have glasses saved from October's partial eclipse but didnt use them because it was cloudy here. We are in the 95% totality area but it looks like we will have clouds again 😢 Maybe we will just eat an eclips donut, drink a Blackout Slush Float from Sonic and call it good

Middle of the country would be best, BUT, it appears we are gonna have some storms that will bring a Lot of clouds , so seeing it may not be in the cards,, I was thinking of going to OHIO to see it, but alas,, wont be able to see it due to storms..
