6:52 - I have been using after effects for 7 years now and only today I have learned that you can do this. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! Also, more people should know about the 4:05 technique. I have only seen one other tutorial talking about it but in a weird and convoluted way.
For masing corner pinned layers, it's a good practice to do the mask on a solid layer and apply that as a track matte instead. That way you don't have to worry about the distortion and you can do your masing in screen space. And you can also get your mask from Mocha since you already had it tracked.
soooo good loved this video. need to get more comfortable using mocha. Any chance you could do a tutorial on video jersey swaps that the sports world has been getting into recently? I think a bunch have been using the Lockdown plugin but wondering if mocha could do something similar
that's a cool idea! Mocha Pro can do mesh tracking similar to Lockdown, but Mocha for AE doesn't have it. I think you could get similar results with AE puppet pins linked to multiple different tracking points.
@@antonthallner funnny I tried this with puppet points! It worked pretty decently, but any sort of movement from the subject or camera made it difficult. Can send a link to the tweet if you’d like to see. I’ll have to check out mocha pro though and see what I can do. Great stuff as always!!
I’ve been using ae for over 10years and learned a lot here. Question, could you elaborate on how you go about your “stamp projection” please? Thanks again.
good to know someone made these kinda video. anyway, i wanna ask to you because of my curiosity on how this good removal vfx was edited? ruclips.net/video/nHaO8IQv8xM/видео.html (timecode - 0.30) it's from harry potter sequel and i still wonder how they work on the hermione skirt when removing her hand. i thought that was a difficult footage to remove her hand because of the moving skirt on the background. do u have an idea??
