Thanks for the tutorial! I'm not that far into After Effects and it would really help if you could explain, why you do each step.Understanding the reasoning behind an action makes it so much easier to learn and remeber the steps. Just an idea for future tutorials. Thanks for sharing this method
Awesome tutorial. Thanks, Michael. I was actually so curious to know this technique around 3 months ago that I made a reddit account, posted a video, and asked how they made it, as well as in other VFX communities. I thought they were made using the data-mosh technique or some 3D software. Thanks for explaining this in the easiest and most understandable way. I really like that you have shown what different footage and scenario would look like using this technique. You are awesome.😄
Thank you 😊. Yes, in a 3D software it’s a no brainer. Common methods (e. g the 3D light method) in After Effects are complicated to set up. This technique requires less steps 😎
He always makes the unique videos. The perfect video. I think that there must be thousands of different ideas that comes in his mind, but he chooses the perfect one. I wonder if he goes through the problems with artists: the problem of achieving perfection. I mean its a good thing...
Right! Even I wanted my simple examples to be perfect. As easy this projection technique is a lot of effort went into rotoscoping to make it believable.
Im a navigated AE user and i never seen this powerpin trick for the 3D projection. I alway use the camera light projector workflow, good to know. Thanks 🙏
Thank you 😊. I’ve always avoided the light projector method and did camera mapping in Cinema4D instead. The power pin trick comes more straightforward to me than using lights. But I still have to figure out the pros and cons of both methods 😊
Good day Sir... I'd like to ask... about the Graph you use to pin the Car ... is that graph from "Create Solid"? Im also trying to do this trick Thanks
The Power Pin won't allow the correct placement of the ground surface, but when I try the unstretch trick it doesn't work - the layer just disappears from the frame. Any other ways to get around this issue?
Hi! Difficult to say without seeing your project. I guess it’s an extreme camera perspective that makes it difficult. Maybe use the other Power Pin technique of the two.
Thank you for answering quick @@MichaelPonch The issue is that the vertical tracking plate works like a charm, but the horizontal doesn't. This is how much I'm allowed to tweak the power pin. What is the other technique? If only I could push it further up, but this is max: jakobdinesen.dk/images/silkemur-problem.jpg
In my tutorial I use different Power techniques for the skateboard and the car. Regarding your problem. What about precomposing your footage but with an increased comp width. And applying Power Pin to the precomp? Just an idea.
That actually works. A bit unprecise as I don't have any exact placement points for the power pin to match, but with a little adjustment, I think I can get it to work. Thank you @@MichaelPonch
@@MichaelPonch I can feel that the skateboard part has two shots. But the coffee section seems to have only one shot. So, I was confused when shooting.
@@MichaelPonch My idea is, two shots, one is that I normally put down my coffee cup. The second is a blank shot, with the same motion trajectory. Then cut the cup out at after effect. The problem is, the lens is moving, not stationary. How to deal with shadows? It would be even better if you had a video. Thank you.
Thank you very much for your tutorial. I had the same problem with the bottom layer with the car with the CC Power Pin. But somehow it doesn't work after I "Unstrech" it. The Layer looks very small. Can you help me please?
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I invite you to watch the whole video. Because in the second scenario (skate) you don’t need Premiere at all. As I mentioned in my video these are just suggestions how you could prepare your video. Because your story might be a different one. Anyway the actual secret is how you accomplish the projection mapping easily. I hope at least this can inspire you. Cheers 😊
Hi, I am not here to ask about your current video but there is a video of yours where u made a mogrt template ( ruclips.net/video/jqRpxpPEdvE/видео.html ) and I have a my question is that are there anyways to add thoose effects from your template and not apply it on a text but on a masked subject?

That's cool, thanks!
How did you create the shadow of the car? You masked it with the car beforehand?
Excellent stuff...Keep it up.

Hello, the coffee part. How is it made? Can you share it? I have tried many times, but still failed. Thank you
Basically it works the same as the skate sequence. Where did you fail exactly? I can make a little RUclips Shorts about it 😎

Sorry guys for this late reply. Just a guess: maybe the layer doesn’t have the composition’s dimensions
