I will be honest, and I really like Elden Ring, but it lacks that depressing and leitmotif of Dark Souls, Demon Souls and of course Kings Field. I still didn't feel that touch of darkness like in Dark Souls when I first visited Izalith, Giant's Crypt, New Londo, Undead Crypt or Irithyll. DLC has better vibe. But Elden Ring for me like dark version of era after falling of gods a little bit similar to Olympics gods. And Demon Souls, DS and Kings Field have vibe of truly Dark Fantasy in the same level as Berserk. Bloodborne and Sekiro have their own vibes and I like them too.
As a person who played King's field, im actually don't think like that. It's completely different games that maybe look similar, but deeply, King's field is something completely unique.
The games of this time period truly nailed the atmosphere they tried to set. Drakan Order of the Flame, Enclave, McGee's Alice, Dungeon Siege ... they immediatley come to mind.
This is hands down my favorite version of the track I've heard anywhere. The reverb takes a lot of the tinny effect out of the original track. Much smoother and more haunting.
This is haunting. The reverb adds a new, distinct layer that I love. I need to use this in D&D more often, if that's alright. King's Field IV remixes like this are always gems I cherish when I find them. This is really good work.
Here's a cool detail you may have not noticed: in dark souls the flow of time itself is convoluted with hero's centuries old phasing in and out of existence, some of their thoughts and feelings are conveyed in the messages. Messages are written with a magic soapstone, but did you know the message icon is taken from kings fields cover art I think it could be a clever meta reference to time travel; with kings field being representative of fromsoft ware's past, and of it being part of fromsoft wares modern games too.
It straight up sounds like it's playing inside a cave or something. It captures the feeling of playing King's Field 4 even more. Like, you're (not) alone, in the dark, marching deeper and deeper into the very earth itself, going through the dungeons, mazes and underground graveyards. The entire place feels opressive and hostile, but welcoming and comfy at the same time, in a strange way. I think that's why this game's world is so captivating, as much as it fucks with you (like all the traps, and poison areas) it also takes you in. It envelops the player. I fucking love this game dude. Even tho Dark Souls was my favorite Fromsoft game, and I love the soulsborne stuff, I like the King's Field series more.
When you say it feels hostile and comfy at the same time it reminds me of hopelessness. It's a recurring theme in Souls games where many of the NPCs you meet are so exhausted or terrified by the challenges ahead they'd rather just sulk and despair, rot away. I mean there isn't much more to immortality eh ? It's kinda like when you are a child afraid of the dark, you ball up under your cover and sleep. That's what I'd do in such a dark place, find a dark corner, and wait.
I started on dark souls 2 back in 2012. I heard of kings field but never bothered to look it up. Just got the gist of where the moonlight sword came from. This came up randomly on youtube and listening to it is so good. It at has a beautiful melody and I can see why the name of the song was originally called Ego. Very sad and nostalgic feel to it as well. Listening to this as I look at the dates on the game and think someone is listening to this and reliving a childhood.
Ya got me in tears homie, I gotta play this now. I cant believe it took listening to some tracks but man this game looks next level as far as environment and ost. shame almost that most people wont give it a chance because old, if they tried this hard on the music it's quality through and through.
The perfect child of Silent Hill + Fromsoftware, honestly Michael Zaki should consider buying the rights from the now defunct Konami and / or make a new horror game that hits deep like Silent Hill does
@@QuestionmarkTimes2 The company is obviously not defunct but I think what he's referring to is that they no longer have a game development wing that knows how to make anything other than pachislot, YuGiOh or bad remasters due to the company going full retard and dipping from the console gaming market shortly after firing Kojima. Hence why they outsourced SH2's remake to a backwater impoverished Polish company that makes lame haunted house games

Playing this in Elden Ring when it's raining and night, especially when you run into those lighting spots

It fits the underground areas, Nokron, especially.

Never even played Kings Field but I consider this the national anthem of souls games
Agree
Kings field is the grand father of Souls games
As a person who played King's field, im actually don't think like that.

Agree completely. Odd how true this is
@sticktostick6669 heavily disagree
just look at demon's souls and dark souls 2
The very first time I heard "Dark Reality," I genuinely cried.
The games of this time period truly nailed the atmosphere they tried to set.
Drakan Order of the Flame, Enclave, McGee's Alice, Dungeon Siege ... they immediatley come to mind.
While listening to this i kinda traveling in another world. A dying, haunting world

Go ahead and use it if you'd like, I love using music during my own sessions of D&D!
i listen to king's field when reading berserk
@@kooolainebulger8117 ok, imagine have King Deez guts.
Instead of king ddd I removed the last word after guts.
King deez guts dope.
And no, its not related to D N
I discovered Kings Field years ago after picking up Dark Souls in 2011. Ancient City became one of my new favorite rpgs.
did you play the first 2 US releases, they're seriously lost in time for new gamers.
"What... Still here? Hand it over, that thing. Your Dark Soul... for my Lady's Painting."

The song is by itself an Amazing creation and this remix makes it a real gem in the rough
I like this, the reverb adds to the fantasy setting

Beautiful rendition my dude. Much appreciated!
This is the best dark reality mix, no question.
It's serene but has sinister undertones. I like it
I really recommend playing your favourite souls game with this music in the background, its almost a psychodelic experience.
Or you could just play King's Field IV
This game is amazing and is very rare to see someone playing this game in 2021
Terrifying
playing through KF4 currently, the intro song is so good

As in rest of the OST? I've only ever uploaded this edit of Dark Reality.
@@wildebur Thank you for your kind reply, I think I confused your video with other kingsfield video list witch all got hidden for unknow reason.
This song is perfect for when I get invaded, I will be like patches until I just stab the invaders and defeat them.
Also this video of a song, was used from zullie the witch for manus 3d sprite, manus was once human.
This song also has characters reminding me of executioners orcs and 6 eyed spider knights. And Draculas old castle
