It's difficult as it got Cristiano in it, and Juve has some serious issues at both flanks. Juve got a brilliant acquisition in their MF, but it's still too thin.

At first, it looks perfect for Ronaldo if he uses the front 3 to stay a bit more inside, with Sandro taking the left side responsibilities, and I think that very soon will Artur and Kulusevski form the 8's duo, with Bentacur or McKennie at the DM. Also, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Bernardeski taking the RWB position if Cuadrado doesn't show what it takes to play in first 11 this season. Some how, it looks that 3-5-2 will be the formation for the stronger opponents, and 4-3-3 for when Juventus will dominate the game. After a lot of time, Juve this season isn't the absolute favorite in Seria A and it appears that we will enjoy a great battle for the champion this season.

Instead of a backline of 3 cbs, he used danilo as a makeshift rb in their last match allowing them to change their shape from a 3-5-2 to a 4-3-3 easily, quite similar to Conte's Chelsea and more recently Arteta's Arsenal. • @RSolfactory
      @RSolfactory 3 года назад +9

You don't need to build a team around de ligt. He, Demiral, and Pellegrini are the future of our Juve defence. We just need a good young RB or RWB to make it even more solid. Our midfield of Bentancur Arthur Rabiot with McKennie off the bench should be quite strong, while Cuadrado is really good at that RM position since he doesn't have to defend as much as he did as RB. Strikers are obviously gonna be Kulu and Ronaldo, but maybe Pirlo can sub Rabiot out for a CAM so that Dybala can play in behind the strikers. The formation then would be a 3412.

    - De Ligt has played a high pitch defense at Ajax, so he will be in his element covering the large space behind him.
    - Ronaldo is getting old and will not want to waste energy in pressing, this will be a weakness.

This video (Pirlos wiev) just said every tactical optimum. Its almoust impossible to imagine that there are players on this world that can do everything on the world class level so Pirlo can implement this style of play. Even Guardiola or Klopp, or Ancelotti doesn´t play more than 1 or 2 style of play and for each style, there are two or three aspects crucial for that style, so they bring players which are great in that aspects but they can be also bad in other aspects... Pirlo in this style combined every optimum of possesion control football... which is pure Utopia
.... and even if it is possible to achieve that level of the team, then he would need to bring almost whole new squad.(for incredible amount of money)
Which of current players would meet the conditions: Szczesny(he needs to train more his ball playing skills), Alex Sandro, De Ligt(back in his Ajax form), Arthur, Dybala .... and thats it... even CR7 wouldn´t play in that style, because CR7 isn´t forward who does pressing for whole match.
So thats 5 players ... you need to have 11 and then substitutes... but if I stay only with first 11 then here are players most suitable for that style: Upamecano, Kimmich(RB), then CDM.... Maybe Jorginho, then CM... Pogba would be awesome then pressing forward which is fast... Werner or Halland and on left wing they can try to sign Mané... thats transfers for something like 500M euros... so good luck after covid
This is maybe football that Pirlo wants to play(and it would be awesome), but he will play different football... more pragmatic one... as every other manager/head couch must play because they can play only that style that their players can play.

Like some have said before, it sounds like most managers in today's game. 5 people up front to overload, play put from the back, high aggresive press. But there is one difference, in the way he wants to use the fullback. He said if the fullback is athletic, he will make him run up and down the pitch. If he is more defensive minded, the FB will be part of the back 3 in build up and if he's more technical, he will be used in the center like Zinchenko at City was used. So there's going to be a very fluid approach with the fullbacks being key and not just tied to one task like they are with Klopp or Pep. Interesting to watch for sure

I like the philosophy because of the pragmatism he incorporates or could incorporate with it. Ideally he wants something very fluid and that's my type of game. The challenge now is getting the best from the Juventus players with respect to this philosophy. All in all, I wish him luck! 👍

Pirlo will face a similar challenge in what Sarri had - this Juve team is not comfortable with defending with low numbers at the back, or holding a highline. It'll be interesting to see him work around the Ronaldo/Dybala issue, cause they won't want to press up high too often......but then again, Pirlo is very intelligent and highly respected, so I'm 100% certain all the key players will buy into his philosophy...he just needs support from Juve's management

I think he will play with 2 forwards but won't stick with it every match..
Thereby making good use of the squad..
3-5-2 would be excellent for the squad he got
    Ronaldo and Dybala
    Midfield of Rabiot-Arthur-Ramsey..
    Wingbacks Sandro and Cuadrado
Back 3: The trusted mafia with newbie De Ligt
Interaction between Ronaldo, Dybala and Ramsey will be very interesting
The midfield and the front 2 will have freedom to roam from their positions during transition and attacking organization phases as well as arrive in the box in these different phases..
    Would be interesting to watch...

I think RB will be a main problem here.... Cuadrado is good offensively but not so good defensively... He's not an aerial threat nor he has a defensive capabilities of a traditional RB. So if Juventus looses the ball at the Right wing it can be difficult to gain the ball soon as Right wing will have space created and also if cuadrado pushes high up looses possession the opponent's RB can also push ahead thus creating more difficulties. So Juventus need a perfect RB who is good at both Offensive & Defensive. Alex Sandro on Left plank is good option still as he is fast and has good dribbling capabilities and also he is good defensively. Also another question arises is about the midfield. With Arthur IN Juventus now has a quality midfielder, but who will play with him? Rabiot, Ramsey, Bernadeschi, Weston McKenzie,Bentancur or the new Swedish Kulusevski.. So its going to be a another confusion for Juventus....

  • @jrvice9132

Pirlo has great tactical knowledge and was a very smart player, so he can teach his players some things. Otherwise his success is dependent on how he communicates his requirements to the team and how he implements the players into his systems. I like his ideas, but I don’t think he has the players to play like that and that will cost him and viewing Juves transfers , opens the question wether he has been involved in all of them. Jive still has the highest individual quality in Serie A, but if they are not used right or rightfully implemented , they could fail.

  • @Lorak1129

At the moment Juventus have 3 major issues being the lack of a true number 9 upfront and a lack of wingbacks that can sustain this kind of playstyle plus the difficult way as Ronaldo and Dybala can be integrated in this formation. If Dybala can be pesuaded he can play effectevly as a new De Bruine It Will be a great thing imo

It seems to me that this football tactical stuff is pretty obvious. The hard part is getting all the players to cooperate and put out a full effort, to sit on the bench when needed, to play out of position, and so on. These skills are what make coaches like Klopp and Pep so great.

Honestly, Juve will need fullbacks especially a right back. And Dzeko would be perfect striker but as they signed Morata it's gonna be tough. And Douglas Costa can be fruitful as he's got speed and also can dribble past the defenders to cross the ball in.

  • @gregorio5543

I dont think Juve completely have the players to implement this. I still think we'll struggle to get it right out wide. Also the midfield director is kind of missing as well. I think Aouar would be so critical to at least have the midfield moving in such the way Pirlo wants but we still lack wide players. Chiesa wouldnt be bad either as it'll help us out wide. I dont think this tactic will work without signing one of the two players.

This is going to be a tough one for Pirlo. He wants to play all top teams currently do, but while his team is the best in Italy, in terms of UCL, he has no where near the squad of Liverpool, Man C or Bayern. If he plays the same way they do, there's no way in hell we will win the Champions Leauge any time.
