Look at Pep's Haters 😂 they believe it's all about the money while he actually changed the way City used to play. With full squad n proper referee decisions ,this city team under pep can beat any team . His coaching style is very dynamic , rn there's no system of pattern in city sqaud which makes them pretty hard to counter , all he needs is another C.b like Koulibaly along with Laporte n this team will be on another level. Name me a Manager who went on to win UCLs without money in Modern football , S.A.F all his life managed United n didn't anywhere else. Pep could have done the same n believe me he would win 2-3 more UCLs rn but he moved . He left Spain where he spent his all life n it ain't easy , his football is very dynamic n doesn't depend upon one player or style . UCLs r won by luck. City's been playin on top from from the past 3 years , they got UL last season. I'm from Madrid n I really want a person like pep who can provide the vision to Our players. Winning is different than actually playing very good football , another manager that's underrated is Heynecks, he was a beast as well .

United spent a lot of amount as well but they're no where close to any trophy , I'm from Madrid n every Madrista knows games r won in transfer markets first then Manager ( though managers have direct impact on it ). If ur Management is good , ur club will never get demolished. U need good scouts as well. Whenever I see Foden , I just thing why our team isn't having that boy. Fede is very good too but seeing Foden just make me go around 😅. Money doesn't buy u Trophies I agree but well spent money does buy u a lot of them. @@ivana6599 The problem with Barca is the lack of tactical knowledge from valverde. He does not suit the Barcelona philosophy. Now here is why:
First, Barcelona principles, especially during Guardiola's era was based on Positional Play. This is what most people call 'tiki taka' which is actually wrong. Positional play is what La Masia teaches to its students, not some simple-minded tiki taka. Tiki taka is passing the ball aimlessly just for the sake of passing it. Positional play is keeping possession with the intention of finding spaces to exploit.
For example, look at Guardiola's Barcelona. David Villa and Pedro who were the main Barcelona wingers for Pep would stay very wide almost hugging the touchline when Barca had possession. The reason for this was to make the pitch as wide as possible to create spaces. Messi was a false 9 who pulled the CB's towards him and thus creating spaces for Villa and Pedro to exploit. Also Guardiola's barca was very good when it came to counter- pressing. Once they lost the ball, they were very intense and organized in winning the ball back within 6 seconds after losing.
Pep's Barca was a fluid mechanical machine with every player drilled in their positioning intelligence.
Valverde's Barca has neither of what I have mentioned. They do have very technical and intelligent midfielders like De Jong, Arthur, Busquets and Vidal but Valverde lacks the tactical know how of how to use them.
Pep's Man City also use strict positional play just like Pep's Barca. However, there is a difference and that difference is the false 9 role. At Barca, Pep had Messi who played the false 9 with absolute perfection. At City, he lacks a player like Messi who can dribble past 3 or more players as a false 9, so he uses a striker like Aguero differently. So at Barca, Messi would attract both CB's to him thus making the FB's go narrow to cover the spaces left by the 2 CB's. This led to the wide wingers (Villa and Pedro) lots of space on the wing to exploit. That is how MVP (Messi, Villa and Pedro) scored most of their goals. It was difficult to stop a prime Messi.
Now Man City have Sterling and Sane (or Bernardo/Mahrez) as wingers. So at City, due to the lack of a Messi type of player that can dribble past 3 or more players in the final third, Guardiola made some adjustments. So Sterling and Sane still stay very wide on their respective wings similar to Villa and Pedro at Barca. However, they stay wide for a completely different reason and the reason is to pull the fullbacks wide thus leaving half spaces (spaces between the fb and cb). These half spaces are created for Man City's attacking midfielders (Lm and RM) to exploit. So what you have when City have possession is an attack with 5 players that is the Right Winger, Right Midfielder, Left Winger, Left Midfielder and the Center forward.
So at City, the wingers stay what wide to pull the opposition full backs wide as well and leave space for City's midfield to exploit.
At Barca, Pep used overlapping fullbacks like Dani Alves while at City he has created the inverted fullbacks like Walker. Inverted fullbacks provide more central support by acting as an additional midfielder when City has possession.
If Guardiola had a player like Messi or if Messi was playing for City, Pep would have created an exactly similar style ever of play as his Barcelona team. The lack of a natural false 9 with Messi-like attributes led him to adjust a few things, however both his Barca and City team play Total Football with strict positional play with slightly different tactics.

Most people are biased ... In fact a lot will tell guardiola didn't win the UCL with City and that's why he's not a great manager but as a liverpool fan i can say that guardiola is a real genius. before he came i've never considered city as a great team but so far he prooved that they're more than that since they became a model for many teams .
I sincerely think Guardiola is the man behind the team and that without him city wouldn't have win anything and would have signed other highly rated players without really improving their team . (Guardiola also improved as a manager changing a lot of details in his tactics to improve them and constantly uploading them )
What Guardiola does what man city do is incredible and most of people who say guardiola is not a great manager don't know anything about football.
i don't remember any team winning 100 points since premier league is known as PL and scoring 106 goals is absolutely incredible doing it two seasons in a row knowing that they will be THE TEAM to beat after their first title is superbe.
Remember it's the premier league the most difficult league in the world it's not la ligue 1 (French championship) or Bundesliga this is the greatest league and we can only applaud Guardiola for what he brought to the league and tell to people who deny the fact he's a huge manager that they should watch another sport ( cricket is good)

You can’t undermined his work. Sterling was nowhere near the kind of form he’s having under Pep, Who knew Sane, Bernardo Silva and many more that they could develop and becoming one of the most exciting, promising and talented players as it is the case for now? All That was also under Pep. He spent good cuz they’ve been productive and he can’t be criticized for that even the previous City coaches spent a lot as well. Great work. God bless you. Incredible. But the "M", Pep has shifted from It, the CDM doesn't join the CBs to create a Salida Lavolpiana. From 2018/19 it's more of how Sarri builds up, relatively with Jorginho not joining the CBs. And then a "W" gets to be created in another phase in attack when Walker inverts from the RCB position or attacks outwide - common, as you had stated. Besides, from my observations, City fails to win the second ball in some cases, and also struggle in the "trusting your teammate principle of Pep", this is so because they don't attack with ease due to a lack of a defensive stability in the last phase of defence(the CBs whenever out of position) in a defensive transition. They surely miss Laporte in this case. The first and second ball have been presenting some defensive and offensive crisis to them.

Pep is a genius, Manchester City's owner (City Football Club) has lots of money, the players are very very well-paid and has well-paid world class colleagues too. They have won everything in the Premier League. Only the Cup with big "Ears" is missing. 😂😂

A lot of the stats used here weren't used in context. For example, the expected points saying City should have won the league in 2017 is a crock of you know what. That stat, in particular, tends to favor attacking sides that dominate possession. It underestimates teams that create few, but high percentage chances, and don't mind defending deep. As a footballing fan, I always want the best attacking team to win trophies; however, a lot of the times, there are better ways to win.
