    The R has always been the naked BMW Roadster. The RS has different front end geometry and doesn't steer as quickly as the R, check out the review of all the watercolled boxer models on 1000PS RUclips channel. The LED daytime running light makes the bike more visible than running with a headlight on, the whole point of a dipped headlight is that is doesn't dazzle or interfere with oncoming traffic, so by definition a DRL is more effective as enhancing your visibility to others.
    Please guys if you're going to review a bike at least do your homework on the features, there are 3 dash display options, the bike also had ESA with two modes Comfort and Dynamic, plus Solo, Solo with luggage and two up. There are also 3 riding modes, Rain, Dynamic and User, with notice differences between them especially as they also alter the dynamic traction control settings.
    The valve in the exhaust is to get past the current noise tests and yet still have a nice noise when you put the engine under load, that's what it does, it doesn't do nothing. The panels/bellypan are not "flimsy plastic" and don't get in the way or damaged even on unmade mountain passes in Europe of which my R1200R has done quite a few in the past 2 years and 18,000 miles. I have the optional sport screen which is fine up to 80 ish even on long trips.

    The Boxer engine is brilliant, excellent design and easy to service. And the bikes come with more than 2 gears. Lol.

    Just bought an exclusive for the wife. She loved the way it handled and at 5'2" she could get her feet down.

    Hello, chaps. I have a 2019 GSA 1200, which I am currently selling. It's just too unnecessarily big for 99.9% of road riding that i do.
    I paid 12k for it.
    The equivalent 1200RS/R minus the TFT is coming in at 7k...
    I'm hoping to get out on the 1200R and 1200RS to make a decision on either 2 to replace the big donkey GSA.
    Thanks for the video.
    I am hopung the 1200R can be lightly equipped to make touring more comfortable. Bigger screen, etc. I know the RS offers this from the get-go, but on the looks front, the R is the much better-looking machine than the RS in my eyes.
    Thanks for the video.
    If you have also ridden the RS, i would appreciate your comparison.

    My 2015 model equipped with quick shifter. Kinda odd that the 2017 model doesn't offer quick shifter system.

  • @montha123
    @montha123 7 лет назад +2

    This bike has a quick shifter up & down , there is a sports screen or a bigger one available for it , there is a rear comfort seat also that is very comfortable available - one of the best all rounder bikes out there , this bike can really move if u drive it on a bit !!

    If anyone is going to buy a "R" model of 1200 size, I suggest purchasing this model! That way you can make it to your specific needs! All the acquirements are available in the aftermarket and it's a far better way to achieve "your" motorcycle!

    Own a 2016 r1200r, quick bike, great handling, pegs are a little high, lots of electronics, some needed, some not, robotic looks imho, like my guzzi v7 stone better, go figure, expensive, GPS prep but no GPS, pannier carriers but no cases, back rest carrier but no pad, I guess at 15k extras are necessary

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  6 лет назад

      A great bike indeed matey. It would be great though that extras weren’t extras. After all when we buy a car most have sat nav air con electric windows etc, but you buy a bike and then have to pay for all the ‘extras’ :(

    Who says your not technical Toby? Didn't you kick the back tyre at 9:56? People buy bikes based on the tyre kick technical evaluation.

    • @RiderCamTV
      @RiderCamTV  7 лет назад +3

      +John Gordon hahaha, yeah I did John. Chuckled to myself as I was editing too. Perhaps I am technical. Mind you , a few more goes at tyre kicking before I'm proficient. Hehehe

      @@RiderCamTV not sure; there are equally capable bikes at a much lower weight. You know women are not into mechanics they ride anything and they’re happy

    Bike review, first sentence doesn't know what it's called - not overly inspiring for continuing to watch.
