CORRECTION: After consulting with an actual software engineer, I was wrong about Tesla FSD being completely impossible. I'm still skeptical about its capabilites right now, but I do concede that in the future, a camera-only self driving car may be possible. I don't think this changes the thesis of the original video, I'm still extremely skeptical about the vast majority of Elon Musk's claims, but if Tesla somehow pulls it off, I'll publicly admit that I was wrong. Thank you for the correction. Although I am fed up with with Musk's bullshit about solving traffic, robots being controlled by humans etc., I am really bored with people ranting on FSD and completely ingoring that huge progress in last 2 years. These people have no idea how FSD works, think "more sensors = more good" and absolutely ingore differences between self-driving on premapped roads and FSD. I am happy to hear that now you realize the differences. 👍
still impossible - Tesla does not know about traffic regulations. They claim, that their cars learn by AI (I call BS on that) and AI behaves like other people from the training data. Different countries have different traffic regulations and the numbers per country are drasticly smaller than the US. They can not make country specific profiles/behaviours and will break the regulations all the time. Also - they would never be able to react on any changes in traffic regulations since the AI model would lack the behaviour data of drivers to a new regulation. Therefore they will never take full responsability for anything outside the USA. e.g. Good luck with translating and interpreting a sign like "Bodenmarkierungen ungültig" or "if you drive on a country road and overtake a bycicle while driving >= 60kmh your side distance needs to be at least 2m" (
nobody in their right mind actually cares if it's possible, we'd never use it even if it were. Not if Eloon has the possibility to crash that car into a wall because you don't align with his totally centrist political opinions (and he totally DOES). I'll get into a taxi where the driver will be F'ed himself if he crashes into a wall. But I won't get into an FSD that is potentially controlled by literally the real life version of a James Bond Villain. Watch the film Upgrade (2018).
@@benjaminmeusburger4254 Looks like you don't realize it's not year 2001 with poor processing power, small storage and slow internet. Ofc it is not easy and it wont be ready tomorrow. But there is absolutely no reason for not being able to do country specific profilies. Number of different traffic signs is also finite. Yes, they need to make the car understand them all, so they will do exactly that. And driving in different countries may differ but not that much. The goal is to make it safe, not to obey the law in 100 % cases.
Did you watch the video of a Tesla under FSD plowing into a deer at full speed? This was recent and the cameras did not show the deer as a problem to address. It was dark and foggy. Radar or lidar would have given the information to the system that there. I am a software engineer, so you can trust me ;-). Seriously I am a retired computer science professor with a lot of success in programming. FSD looks pretty good, but the camera-only decision is not optimal. I am still not convinced that FSD will continue to improve. "Debugging" is what I learned to do to solve problems with code. You don't debug FSD. Tesla feeds more video into a black box and expects things to improve. I think lidar or radar could help reduce the impact of accidents. I think the deer in the middle of the road would still happen with improved sensors and no software could save the deer. With radar the car could have observed a problem and hit the brakes. I would never expect 100% success with a big problem, but there are a few things I would do differently. I would have an emergency over-ride feature separate from the neural network to detect problems and guide the FSD system to brake as safely as it can. I would write all this software using humans so that it could be debugged. The current FSD is probably better than hard-coded software with only cameras. I would not concede on the camera-only concern. Radar is obviously cheap enough since Tesla has radar on most of its cars. Why not use something which can see when humans can't?
Fun fact: We have electric busses in many major cities in Europe. I'm using them all the time. They can transport two to three times more people than the Tesla Robovan. Sure, they are driven by human drivers, but I've never heard anybody inside say "I wish this would drive autonomously". They are on the road RIGHT NOW, effortlessly climbing speed bumps everywhere. Unfortunately, they don't have the slick LED stripes that Elmo so loves.
Lol you've already attracted simps. We have electric busses and autonomous transit in London. The Docklands light railway has only a couple of people managing the entire network remotely. Moving 10s of thousands of people a day. Robo Taxies will NEVER be a thing.
The EU is funding a different robotaxi company in Croatia lead by Mate Rimac of Rimac hypercars, it's called Verne (previously proj 3 mobility). > The European Commission approved a grant of EUR 179,5 million to Project 3 Mobility As I understand it, they will use level 4 with geofencing and remote drivers if the cars get stuck somewhere.
I am a long term bicyclist here in the USA. There are no trains, buses, or public transport where I live. I have been hit 21 different times and run over by an 8 ton truck, in 80,000 miles on bicycle. The USA is not set up for public transport other than cars and trucks. It is sad, it is pathetic, but it is how the USA is.
If you look at the history of transportation in the US public transportation was everywhere in metropolitan areas, up until the auto industry paid politicians to scrap public transportation in favor of automobiles.
To be fair did he ever worry? I mean nearly ever product he has ever revealed was full of lies. Most of his demo's were faked and nothing ever happens to him. It doesn't matter who is in office.
A 2 door coupe for a taxi? Where are the rear doors/seats? Elon has really benefited humanity, it is great to travel from New York to Los Angeles in two hours on Hyperloop and visit the Mars base for my holiday this year...😂😮😢
And build super cheap houses from the bricks you get for free from his tunnel boring company that makes tunnels 100 times faster and cheaper than anyone who knows something about tunneling.
Most taxi journeys are made with 1-2 passengers. Not all, but most. And we've already seen taxis that don't work for everyone in widespread use. A proper, custom made taxi should be wheelchair accessible. But yet most taxis around the world are just normal cars. Some people can't use them, but most people can and that's good enough for economic viability. We've never seen taxis operate 2 seaters, because historically 1 seat would be required for the driver, and apparently a 1 seat taxi isn't economically viable. When self driving taxis become a thing (not saying this robo taxi will be that when, but at SOME POINT it is going to happen), it will be interesting to see if the increased operating costs of a 4-6 seat car are intact justified by the ability to carry a fractionally higher percentage of fairs.
@@HALLish-jl5mo Just another example of Musk trying to reinvent something that has existed for decades, the London cab has existed for years, has wheelchair access, can fit a whole family with a week's groceries and has the tightest turning circle of any car. Self driving going to have to develop massively to compete with a London cabby's 'knowledge', especially in a real time situation.
@@valkyriedd5849 The idea is that the other Tesla models could be used for journeys that need more seats or space. The 2 door robotaxi certainly has enough room for groceries though as it is supposed to have room for two large suitcases and carry on luggage. I'm not saying this is guaranteed to all work out, but if it does, then I can't fault the logic.
@@valkyriedd5849 The London Taxi has existed for years, and most taxi companies use normal cars. Because while it's an amazing taxi, it's an expensive vehicle, and it's usually better to go with a cheaper vehicle that's adequate most of the time. The Knowledge is pointless now. Just use satnav. That is absolutely a skill we have automated out. Tom Scott tested Google Vs a taxi driver with The Knowledge, and over I think 6 trips the difference was about 2 minutes. That's not worth someone studying for 3-4 years. And that learning time is factored into the fairs. Proper taxis are obsolete now. They spend years studying, and a fortune on medallions, in order to obtain and prove a skill that's only a couple percent better than having Google maps on your phone. And in a few years, as Google improves but humans don't, will probably be worse. The only thing keeping taxis running is laws restricting their competitors to hails by apps, which is extremely artificial.
4:50 "Look at the thing! The tesla minibus is so low to the ground that you couldn't even stick the remnants of Twitter's valuation down there" 😂 My man, I applaud you for that! 👍 That was an epic diss.
You do realize that is has an air suspension that will raise it up as required, right? Most of the pics/video of the event showed it kneeled down low to make entry/exit easier.
Twitter was not purchased for value. It was purchased solely for freedom of speech. It was a large social platform that government and politicians were silencing ppl on who spoke their minds.
They had just under 50 cars operating non-stop for hours, taking people around the area. If they were all remotely operated, that would be quite a feat. They should have just made them use ai to save them the trouble.
@@djsUltra honestly their self driving technology is perfectly serviceable in controlled areas. It just can’t handle many complex situations of real life driving
@djsUltra Taking people around “the area”? Hey Tesla fanboy, do you realise this event was staged in the backlog of a movie studio? 100% controlled spaces, Musk’s employees controlling everything. No AI needed at all, since nothing unexpected was ever going to happen. Every vehicle and “robot” entirely RC. Total fraud.
I have been letting FSD drive me around in my model 3 this last week. It is absolutely mind-blowing how well it works now. I've let it drive me probably for a total of 10 hours. I think I had to intervene exactly once. It's very close to being as good as a human.
Whoa, never expected to see you here, haha As per my correction, I've admitted that camera only self driving is possible, however I'm still quite skeptical about its capabilities in irregular situations, + Tesla STILL doesn't take any responsibility for crashes/other accidents on FSD, which is still kind of a red flag, in my opinion
As a person who program CNC machines (I know, it's not real big programming, but still, I now at least little about it) I am shocked that someone is actually trying it, we will all die. Our today technology is not ready for it and massive problem is that nobody is testing anything, they just make it and directly send to customer who is alpha and beta tester, thousands of people will die before they update software in those cars to the state that you will not die in next crossroad. 🙂 All those things like AI, autooptimalisations and autolearning are just propaganda to commercials, we can't do it, you still have to program and optimize everything manually in old fashioned way and then test and test and test for months or years if you want that thing to be working, but corporations want to hack it, it will be a disaster, already now most of products don't work at all and they want some AI cars....
@@PidalinAmerica's going to be the playground for Musk. He's going to get rid of regulations, and his cars, robots and brain chips get rolled out. A big lab with human Guinea pigs.
Even if the robotaxi was real, they'd never sell it to the public. If you could make that kind of money from a vehicle that cheap, they'd just create a taxi service and keep all the profits for themselves.
The idea that anyone would want to send their own private vehicle off unsupervised, to carry many random people around is bizarre to me. In addition to the risks of passengers abusing the vehicle, it sounds like a regulatory and liability nightmare. Presumably the private owner would need to be insured along the lines of a taxi operator for a start. But I doubt there is even that much demand for that many additional taxis in most existing urban areas anyway. Especially those that do have relatively well developed public transportation. Even if successful, this is just a recipe for putting human taxi operators out of business.
What I find very troubling is that there are drivers out there using a BETA product that puts NON-Tesla drivers AND innocent pedestrians at risk. Did the NHTSA approve this? WTAF? I think a class action lawsuit it warranted to END the BETA test upon Humans who did NOT OPT IN for this test that may result in loss of life.
LMAO, it has already save people, and you still need to maintain full control of the car when using it, look up the NHTSA safety report, Tesla are one of the best in term of active safety. look up the blue cruise "autopilot" from Ford, it can't even take a turn without going into the incoming lane, THAT will result in loss of life, tho is way less popular than tesla, and it's not fun to critic Ford.
Even if we get to fully autonomous vehicles, I do not think the steering wheel should be disposed of, in case the technology (which will always to some extent be vulnerable) fails in a critical situation. Some sort of manual override is always going to be necessary whenever a piece of heavy machinery is traveling at high speeds on a public thoroughfare (which presents countless variables for possible movement). It would be fairly manageable in a controlled space on a fixed guideway, but that is impossible for a car on a road, and I think policy makers should keep that in mind when regulating autonomous road vehicles, before a Cybercab “comes to breakfast” at someone’s house because a minor dent no one noticed or cared to fix caused the car to forget the lane markings somewhere. I’m already annoyed car windows didn’t retain a manual hand crank for if the motor to raise/lower the window failed; there are multiple instances where I can’t just leave it in place before I get it fixed and I don’t want to put any wrapping/tape over the open segment in the meantime. Systems often aren’t as reliable as manufacturers and users depend on.
Fun fact he also drove it on the Warner bros movie lot completely felt like it was all just for show an empty promises no way are these vehicles gonna come to full working completion in our society fully autonomous is just too far ahead still before we can make it work without error
Not much really at least at the beginning, because he would lose all of his investors interest in cyber-futuristic dysfunctional silliconevalley nonsense
@@TarequlSifat Yea but that still doesn't change the fact that camera can't see in the dark very well or if sun is shining right into it it's basically blind. That's equivalent to saying that you can watch movies on iPhone but you still rather watch it on your big TV or in cinema.
The entire “Robotaxis generating passive income” idea sounds plausible unless you think about it for 5 seconds. It’s like a driverless Uber so it comes with all the maintenance an Uber ride has + additional risks, because there’s no driver. No driver = no supervision. Most people are responsible, but we all know that 5% will smoke there, have sex, puke, you name it. The legal side of things is going to be a nightmare. What if your Robotaxi crashes with a customer in it? And finally, if Robotaxis actually generated 100% return on investment, Musk wouldn’t be selling them out of the goodness of his heart 😂
there are cameras, you would be dumb to do weird thing in, as to get in you need to be registered using a tesla account, so if there are any degradation, tesla will know who did it. But it's still important to look at that side of human, the dumb ones that ruins everything for everybody.
From what I heard the operating cost of cybercabs is 0.30$ per mile, assuming 2 people per car it's 0.15$ per mile per person. The operating cost of a city bus is 40$ per hour, assuming average speed of 10 mph and 60 passengers it's 0.07$ per mile, per person. Like always, silicon valley lost to buses.
It’s like no public transportation advocate understands that cars isolate you from both the environment and people you don’t want to be around. Some people smell, some are crazy, some bus rides are crowded and uncomfortable. Also, you are tied to a route and have to wait. With kids all of this exacerbates sevenfold. Cars aren’t going anywhere.
Everyone who knows something about programming and about today technology and how far we are has to realize, that people will be dying if we let these things ride, things are not properly programmed and tested these days, corporations want product fast and nobody is testing anything, they make it and immediately send to customer who is alpha and betatester, I am already used to that things don't work these days, but when my brand new coffee machine don't work because it has bugged software, I all survive it, cars are something completely different and honestly, I think that authorities must be bribed when I see what is legal to drive even in Europe, like lights shining to eyes instead of to road, or lighs having strobo effect, pretty much all new cars are like that, how the hell is this legal? It should be completely banned. On one hand there are mandatory crash tests and airbags, but on other hand it's ok that 95% of modern cars have lights with strobo effect? How is this possible? I don't get it. I can imagine that self driving trains on separate corridors with no other kind of traffic can be pretty near future, but cars driving on roads alone? I don't think it's possible with today technology. I am not saying we should not be trying it, but you can't do this in today corporativist capitalism where things are not programmed and tested properly, it's too dangerous, I don't want to sound like I support commies or something, but I would probably feel more safe in some Chinese car. And with all those sensors, it should use co called discrimination method, that means that one thing doesn't work and car can't move because of safety, can you imagine using one of these cars? Already now, car people constantly need some service, it's constantly broken, I work with CNC machines, it's not even riding on roads and still, you are getting plenty of errors every day and it's top tier today technology, I can't imagine using some autonomous car that will show 20 error messages and each maintenance will cost 10 000 eur. 😀
2:15 just look at all those different types of sensors on the Mercedes. Elon want to make full self driving with just cameras. Thats literarly impossible
I recently had to do some work for a customer four hours away. I’m headed back home now. I’ve driven over 750 miles, correction, FSD has driven over 750 miles on this road trip. I have been using full self driving since April. I am really enjoying it, it is not perfect, but it works extremely well. What is shocking, is how little I have driven in the past six months. But one of the things I will say is we have to as a society get to a point where we are OK with someone else’s purchases. If you don’t want to partake in the future, you don’t have to and no one’s forcing you to. But why is there a need to stop someone else? If I want to get on an airplane and you are terrified I don’t think we need to cancel airplanes. Maybe you just don’t get on one. If the issue is safety, then we currently have a real problem because there are so many car accidents across America per day, literally in the tens of thousands. But if we can get that down to less than 1000 using robots, I would think that would be better. No?
Both vehicles are ridiculous. The cybercab is too small for a serious cab|taxi, I think London did a good job of designing proper passenger cars with their taxi design. The mini bus has an outside luggage compartment which is okay for single stop coaches doing longhaul point-2-point trips but not for a hop-on/hop-off ride. I think that taxi drivers can name lots of regular customers that cannot use a FSD cybercab because they need the taxi driver to help them in some way. Many taxi rides in my country are done with a kind of medical's voucher and health insurance is paying the ride. Will Tesla's app accept this paper currency?
He should state the real price for those who don’t owe $7,500 in taxes and wouldn’t qualify for that discount. Now if it was a Point Of Sale discount, that would be nice.
Honestly, i was ready to hear some solids arguments and change my mind about the robotaxi, but i really didn't. "tesla isn't ready for full self driving because it only uses cameras, whereas mercedes uses more technology ! " If you look at the reality, tesla fsd is already way more stable and trustworthy that 90% of humans drivers, while mercedes don't even have fsd so i don't see the point of this comparison ( altho, musk's obsession with using only camera is wierd and stupid ). And the "there are already alternatives to taxi, just walk" is probably the stupidest thing said in this video ( respectfully ) : everyone using a taxi is traveling a distance excessive for walking ; and above that, this is faced towards US market where there is little to no public transportation and where people never walk outside. Plus taxi is a concept that exist since a long long time, so i don't see why a taxi is usefull, but when tesla does it it instantly become useless. Apart from that i do agree the the van is stupid in many many point including those you mentioned, who tf thought this disign what a good idea 😂?
GOOD VIDEO, BUT NOT ALL OF US CAN WALK (@ 6:58 IN), OR PEDAL BIKES. THIS 64 Y.O. DISABLED VETERAN RIDES A RALEIGH TRISTAR, A 3 SPEED TRIKE, WITH AN ELECTRIC FRONT TIRE BY "HILLTOPPER". I CAN RIDE @ 16 MILES WITHOUT PEDALING.
The cybercab platform can be used as a basis for a Model 2 hatchback with normal controls and that car would be an instant success. But maybe that is too boring for Elon. That event with the telepresence robots felt like it was only to raise stock prices so Elon could cash a few more billions. That didn't work out so well.
Dev here - I used to think FSD cant be that hard because basic automation of driving is pretty easy but the more I think about it the more I'm sure that FSD requires AGI or adapting roads and/or other cars (which is a different way of saying not in the foreseeable future). More sensors make the task easier to achieve but even then... sun blinding the cameras and a random lettuce blocking lidar the car will just into a random stop because it has no concept of how hard or soft something is. This is obviously not a common occurrence but combine this with the random faults from the implementation and people will not like you putting 3 ton death bricks on the road. I think he knows that and between promising this tech years ago and not putting sensors into his cars that make this easier... I think they f'd up pretty badly. And he keeps lying.
Not only was the whole set up fake... it proved teslas only camera aprouch does not work. they had to geofence and map the area before the event.. that is not good.
FSD is mostly Musk trying to sell Teslas as an investment. Probably to make his Las Vegas Hyperloop more viable as it might be the only context in which he has a chance at autonomous vehicles on the short term.
It's all looks and no substance. They could have made it a six seater with height for ease of access. Instead of a 2 seater sports car looking thing. That's when you know it's just to wow people.
Not only is this a crap taxi a nightmare to build, a lawyer would have a field day trying to destroy tesla on if this can legally operate anywhere with real traffic
Did you know that Tesla is also an insurance company? Also, did you know that these are typically not meant for consumers, but large scale fleet operators.
@@SiisKolkytEuroo So Tesla will have a monopoly on insurance for them, including pricing and total control over what they are liable for (short of law suits at least)? That sounds healthy. Otherwise the question still remains as to if third parties will want to cover it and for how much.
@@Karras353 If You go above Tier 2 the company is liable if something happend with the selfdriving because the driver does not need to watch the traffic anymore.
@@triage2962 Right, but somebody still needs to insure it, no? Or would Tesla as "the company" be required to cover any claims by default, due to the level of self drive? Because I'm pretty sure that in real world usage, local laws will still require some insurance policy to apply to the vehicle.
@@SiisKolkytEuroo Why would Telsa need to be having you to pay insurance for their perfect fully self driving? If they really believe in it they should be 100% liable by default and have to prove that any and all mishaps and accidents aren't due to their superb fantastic FSD system, shouldn't they? Oh wait, of course they won't do that because.......... their system sucks and is not only not leading the way but in fact is way worse then all the competition.
About the alternatives here is what I think every tesla critic gets completly wrong: Tesla does not compete with Public transportation. No matter what Tesla does, local governents are not held back on improving public transport Systems. What Tesla truly competes with, is single car usage or ownership, thus decluttering our roads and turning carbon intensive travel, into way less carbon intensive travel. Tesla is self funded, almost no taxpayer money goes there so its a logical fallacy to say public transport is in any way more competing with Tesla than any other car brand.
Tesla receives a LOT of subsidies from the federal, state, and local governments subsidytracker.goodjobsfirst.org/parent/tesla-inc +, Elon Musk seems to be hell bent on not improving transit, as proven by him pushing Hyperloop for the reason of getting California High Speed Rail canceled time.com/6203815/elon-musk-flaws-billionaire-visions/
If anyone’s wondering, the reason Tesla only uses cameras is because Elon Musk won’t allow any sensors, stating “Humans can drive with just two eyes”. Teslas have far more than two cameras, as that was the compromise.
FSD on other Tesla models requires human oversight to prevent it driving in bike lanes, turning down the wrong side of the street, and giving up when there are obstacles nearby. This would be fine if the passenger had to sometimes correct the car. But the passenger cannot do that, because the car has no pedals or steering wheel.
This BS leads to a new legislative question: If you have a car with level5 selfdriving, but the car has no pedals no wheel no nothing to drive is by yourself, do you even need a driver licence when you are only pointing at a place in googlemaps. We have definitly some more years untill that question becomes a practical one. When the industry leaders start their lobbywork into that direction, then we know that they at least believe they are close to level5.
Trains dont have to deal with trafic they have the the right of way, they dont have to yield. They just need to know when to stop and detect people on tracks. Just control power and brakes.
Do we know what’s behind the two front seats? I have a sneaking suspicion it’s a hidden compartment with a steering wheel, video screen & and a driver.
Can we acknowledge that even if this thing DID work, it would suck. *BECAUSE IT IS A TWO SEATER WITH NO LUGGAGE SPACE. WHY WOULD THIS BE YOUR CHOICE OF TAXI?! NOT A VAN? NOT A SEDAN? all this is, is a reskin of one of their existing cars with a different interior and some delorean styling, all of which make it WORSE.
I'm certain it will never be able to detect if a drunk passenger is about to throw up and pull over and get them aimed outside before they hose down the interior with vomit. Or notice that a prior passenger coated the interior with various fluids and carry on to pick up the next passenger.
FSD is stupid and a very bad idea. Most people may suck at driving, but they at least won't turn into oncoming traffic or attempt to run over pedestrians on purpose. Companies need to stop shoving so much tech into cars so people don't get distracted.
I think that comparing tesla FSD and the actual part of Mercedes autopilot that is level 3 self driving is like comparing apples to pears. And in this case the levels of self driving shouldn’t be taken word for word when a car can be labelled as level 3 if it can only stay in the lane on a motorway on a sunny day with no traffic because the company allows you in this scenario to take your hands of the wheel and doesn’t actually refer to the ability of the car to drive from a to b by itself
And although i don’t think the cab will cost 30k$ i believe that it is less expensive than the model 3 because number of parts is reduced and the battery is smaller
There are historical aircraft that are legally not allowed to fly because they lack an airworthiness certificate, but can legally conduct fast taxis at airshows. Occasionally the pilots mess up, or there's a strong gust of wind, and they actually do fly. Is that an aircraft that can fly or not? Practically, yes. Legally, no. So how you class a self driving car that has capabilities far beyond what it is legally permitted to use is awkward. It gets more complicated when there's an electronic inhibitor installed. It's like electric speed limiting. What is the top speed of a car, 145 because that's when the computer has been told it's not allowed to go faster than, or 180 because that's what the car actually do?
Easy test: Mercedes takes all responsibility for what its vehicle does. If a manufacturer is not willing to take this responsibility, it means that they don’t believe in their product themselves!
Real question. Have you been driven in a tesla with v12 fsd in fsd mode? I think you wouldn't be posting this drivel if you have. I feel like you haven't even sat in one with fsd
I find it hard to believe that anything tha amazingly honest and not in any way deceitful Elon Musk is involved in is in any way fradulent. It isn't as though he has ever tried conning anyone ever before. Hooray for Elon, the saviour of mankind.
Autonomos driving should have never been considered for cars, cars should be for those who want to drive and those who not resource to public transport and taxis, that way we could make a significant impact into emissions and basically cars would be an entusiasts of driving item, only for those who really vallue the concept of driving, you see a lot of people that dont like driving (thos who this shitshow would catter to) and i just ask myself why do they drive
@CrispyDaFrog i understand that, and its unfortunate cause public transport should be an important thing when planing a city, my coment came from an european perspective where most of countries in here have funcional to good public transport, i do understand that unfortunately most of the world doesnt have that but i firmly belive that should be a change to be made
I am sure it is disappointing to all riders who have physical limitations that the cab and bus proposed by Tesla seem to be designed and intended for able-bodied riders only. Not a great look from a company that says it is revolutionizing transit. 🤨
Elmo is a clown, but that clown is about to become a very powerful oligarch. These fake taxis will be subsidies by the taxpayers, and we will have to love them.
Self driving cars won't solve much anything, it's a pipe dream that aims in sustaining the car industry for the future rather than solve any actual problems of cars or personal transportation in general. All car industry should be stopped posthaste and its resources converted to mass transit and bicycle manufacturing. Next in turn to stop should be passenger planes.
The point of musks new cars isnt to be great cars, but to just hype-pump the stock price. I mean you dont need to be Einstein to look at the cars and see they just will not work anywhere else except in some strictly specified parking lot, probably indoor. The design is just oil sheik level of impractical - Elon is doing great job in competing with them for engineering that makes very little sense in real world, but looks cool in promos.
Well it is plain wrong to say that the most advanced autonomous system is level 3 by Honda and Mercedes, Waymo, Cruise and Baidu and a stack of other Chinese manufactures, all offer level 4/5 and in the case of Waymo have for some years. FSD is a level 2 system, but Musk's vision of a Robotaxi has already been successfully delivered by others. By 2027, instead of being the first, Tesla might be the last to offer a level 4/5 system.
Tesla fsd is actually very impressive, and has been improving a lot recently after they completely re-did their achitecture. It still has issues occasionally which could certainly cause accidents, so they've got some way to go, but the overall approach seems more versatile compared to others as it doesn't rely on map data. It seems to me like there's a 50/50 chance they'll get there in a few years. I doubt they'll make the price like everyone else but it with a smaller battery, the biggest cost for the car, it seems doable that it could be at least a fair bit cheaper than the model 3. Of course, it's still a car, and has all the problems that come with that, but I don't think it's as hopeless as you make it out.

Therefore they will never take full responsability for anything outside the USA.
e.g. Good luck with translating and interpreting a sign like "Bodenmarkierungen ungültig"
or "if you drive on a country road and overtake a bycicle while driving >= 60kmh your side distance needs to be at least 2m" (

@@granienasniadanie8322 What about outside peak hour? I've been on busses many times where there's only a few people onboard.

Bro, thanks for introducing me to MY LEGS
2:15 just look at all those different types of sensors on the Mercedes. Elon want to make full self driving with just cameras. Thats literarly impossible
After consulting with a software engineer, i do concede that camera only driving may be possible, but still, I'm INCREDIBLY skeptical as of now.
No?
If elon already had FSD, he'd be selling them already

About the alternatives here is what I think every tesla critic gets completly wrong:
Tesla does not compete with Public transportation.
Tesla receives a LOT of subsidies from the federal, state, and local governments

+, Elon Musk seems to be hell bent on not improving transit, as proven by him pushing Hyperloop for the reason of getting California High Speed Rail canceled
time.com/6203815/elon-musk-flaws-billionaire-visions/

FSD is stupid and a very bad idea. Most people may suck at driving, but they at least won't turn into oncoming traffic or attempt to run over pedestrians on purpose. Companies need to stop shoving so much tech into cars so people don't get distracted.
The bus wasn't moving over 10mph on a closed set...
@@AirBush64It's literally a model y without a couple of elements
"The speed bump!" made my day
I find it hard to believe that anything tha amazingly honest and not in any way deceitful Elon Musk is involved in is in any way fradulent. It isn't as though he has ever tried conning anyone ever before. Hooray for Elon, the saviour of mankind.
Trump -- who just admitted in his acceptance speech he had never heard of StarLink -- will believe this is genius 😂
Autonomos driving should have never been considered for cars, cars should be for those who want to drive and those who not resource to public transport and taxis, that way we could make a significant impact into emissions and basically cars would be an entusiasts of driving item, only for those who really vallue the concept of driving, you see a lot of people that dont like driving (thos who this shitshow would catter to) and i just ask myself why do they drive
i dont like driving but public transport is just not a possibility whatsoever where I live
@CrispyDaFrog i understand that, and its unfortunate cause public transport should be an important thing when planing a city, my coment came from an european perspective where most of countries in here have funcional to good public transport, i do understand that unfortunately most of the world doesnt have that but i firmly belive that should be a change to be made
Fully Automatic Robot Taxi - FART
I am sure it is disappointing to all riders who have physical limitations that the cab and bus proposed by Tesla seem to be designed and intended for able-bodied riders only. Not a great look from a company that says it is revolutionizing transit. 🤨
Elmo is a clown, but that clown is about to become a very powerful oligarch. These fake taxis will be subsidies by the taxpayers, and we will have to love them.
That's not a minibus. That's a toaster on wheels!
Socially inclusive! Yuk!
i liked your use of the word "chungus".
stejne jako polovina veci co Musk dela no :D
It seems the market is confident in his efforts.
Skvělé video pane, máš naprostou pravdu s těmi vlaky a tak.
When fully China made cars are more complete than western made car, something has went terribly wrong...
bro has clearly never seen full self driving in a tesla before its basicly level 5
3:36 FSD has proven to be mostly great and reliable in beta
Doesn't matter now, Elon will have unlimited funds now
We can all retire and not worry abort work anymore. We can all employ one of these $30.000 cars and sit back 😂😂😂
Everything has a code is hackable. You are a darvin award winner you are fine with a app driving you.
what could possibly go wrong?
lol
I hope trump double crosses this guy because if education funding gets reassigned to this fkn pipe dream I'm gonna lose it
Well it is plain wrong to say that the most advanced autonomous system is level 3 by Honda and Mercedes, Waymo, Cruise and Baidu and a stack of other Chinese manufactures, all offer level 4/5 and in the case of Waymo have for some years. FSD is a level 2 system, but Musk's vision of a Robotaxi has already been successfully delivered by others. By 2027, instead of being the first, Tesla might be the last to offer a level 4/5 system.
I don't think this guy has ever ridden in a tesla 🤔 I use self drive every day. To and from work. It's very very very good......
Seat belts may not be needed in a vehicle incapable of going more than 5 kph.

We are giving the reigns to conmen, so it was a huge success.
