Beautiful chord voicings Andy. Really Enjoyed a lot.
Great lesson, thank you!
Great lesson again Andy, thank you!!
Very tasteful arrangement!
Really Helpful thanks for sharing
Beautiful chord voicings Andy. Really well done and thank you!
Awesome as always thank you Andy
Fantastic! Thanks so much.
AWESOME
You have such a beautiful talent and soul, Andy. Thanks for all you do generously sharing your special gift of music with us all. Warmest greetings from a fellow musician (I’m a classical guitarist from Brazil) and admirer of your prolific work.
Hi Nander - thank you very much!
Some really neat chord choices and very smooth Tremelo use… did the lesson love it… by the way great thumb also it stands out;)
This is a great lesson!
Thank you, Paul!
Great lesson! The presentation and production quality are perfect, and this is tasty stuff. The bit about a Dim chord functioning as a rootless dom7b9 chord -- and basing it on 3rd, 5th, 7th or b9 of the original 7 chord is a huge lesson all by itself. Plus it's like getting a guitar lesson from Ben Kingsley!!! lol
Thanks!
Thank you very much, James! This is much appreciated and I am happy that you enjoy the content!
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 beautiful
I never realized that, if played in A minor, Just the Two of Us sounds almost identical to “In Between the Sheets” by the Isely Brothers lol! That’s a helpful discovery.
Muito bom! 👏 👏
I like your white Strat. I have one too. I am a blues/rocker expanding to jazz. It seems the Strat is rarely used by jazz guitarists, but it sounds great here!
NICE. Would love to see you tackle ' MISTY ". thank you.
W lesson
your videos would be perfect if you made chord diagrams
yes pleaseee andy ♡
Hello - do you mean chord diagrams in the video or on the Tabs? Every note that I played is indicated in the Tabs.
@@AndyDacoulis yes but it seems as if the new standard is to put diagrams on screen in the video as you play each chord. Still offer the tabs of course, but it would be a lot more helpful if you showed in real time the chord fingerings as you play them.
Yes please
Practice it with your ear.
Can you play the jazz intro
Another great lesson Andy thanks. I wonder if you would mind saying if you're using a compressor in this vid or just straight into an amp or DAW.. A beautiful clean sound with lots of sustain but it doesn't't sound compressed.
Hi - I use the Line 6 Helix for my videos and I have some compression on my patch. I also add a touch of compression in my Logic on the strip. Nothing too audible though - just to add sustain as you mentioned. I am glad that you enjoyed the video.
Andy, you are amazing. Your Guitar sounds great. how do I get that sound? Amp and settings
Hi Dereal - I use the Line 6 Helix for my videos. If you want to approximate this sound, use a Fender amp, reverb, stereo delay (one side 1/8 note, the other side dotted 1/8), and a generous amount of compression. Thanks
Hi Andy,
I looking for your guitare tabs, whdre are they, I don' t sée in your instructions vidéo, thanks a lot Andy
Hi Herve - the link for the Tabs is in the description of the video. Here it is: www.dropbox.com/s/ucbgd2fux1bkp0g/Neo-Soul%20Guitar%20Lesson.pdf?dl=0
Anyone know the model and year of this strat? Thanks!
Hi - it's a 2009 MIM Strat. I changed the pickups to Fender Noiseless.
Waw!
What effect version are you using?
I use the Line 6 Helix for my effects: reverb, compression, and delay
@@AndyDacoulis Thank you 🙏
You play very well. That’s said I must ask, why are everyone on RUclips teach the same songs? Teach “Knock me off my feet” by Stevie Wonder for a change.
love it
why not play in the original key ?

Stop jerking that handle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The chords are good but , it’s called neo soul cus you need to playyyyyyyy them chords fam, find your pocket more. From someone who’s been playing it for years, it’s not hittin right.
Andy, that has got to be the coolest arrangement of that song I've ever seen in 50 years of playing.
I once made an attempt at learning a chord Melody version of it, which I intend to achieve when I can, but life gets in the way of me accomplishing my personal music goals while I work in the pro music industry with others who have already made it with theirs. 🤪
I love that you left the Melody alone for accompanying a vocalist or soloist - which I find hard to switch to/from chord melody.
Love those voicings!
And your teaching style is very calming and chilled.
I don't know what part of the US you're in but I'm in Oz and currently thinking about doing a trip back across the US again sometime this year to visit industry pals.
I'd love to come to one of your gigs or just buy you a coffee sometime, if you're in an area I'm heading to. 😉
Hey there - thank you for the kind comment. I am glad that you enjoyed the video and the chord voicings. I live in Canada, not the US. I am in Montreal. Hit me up if you ever make it out this way!
