i don't know why but that dark-light gray color combination really turns me on, make it looks so elegant. another great stuff from Sanwa. thanks for an awesome review of it, Darren. ;)
Hey Darren, I give this Sanwa PC700 a solid 4 stars if its okay with sir. The bargraph looks like RPM indicator. Makes you want to race to measure everything. Someone in R&D must be a GT fan. Haha. I like. I sense that if Sanwa were to put backlight, it would the 80's display light style like on my 12 year old CD771. Good thing they did not. I still kept its original Sanwa box and I agree its nice. You can tell its Sanwa from 50 meters away. As always, great detailed review sir. Just to add. The enclosure screws has brass inserts too. Thumbs up Sanwa Electric.
Great feedback! Yes 👍 a solid dmm. I know what you mean about the backlight on the CD771.. echh! The PC7000 has a gorgeous backlight so I was hoping for the same on the PC700. Btw, SANWA lost 1 star for not bundling the PCLINK software & cable with the multimeter.
@@KeepOnTesting If you have watched Joe Smith's torture tests you will have seen the build quality of Brymen meter too. Very similar in layout and quality. Love my BM869S better than my Fluke 189.
Darren Walker Joe Smith has found the build quality and meter safety of the Brymen meters in the top tier along side Fluke. Those are the top two in safety. Joe showed no mercy on Dave Jones 121 GW, thing is just plagued with issues. Dave got a little mad at one of my comments. Every video for a long time when he needed a meter he would grab the re-branded EEVBlog Brymen BM235 over his new 121. I said if your promoting a top quality meter as you claim your 121 is why do you always grab the Brymen? Man did he get testy. I find him to be very irritating anymore. Joe found a lot of the issues with the 121 and modded them to work better. Dave never gave him any credit as far as I know. Joe is a super smart EE, he must work for some top end lab somewhere. Very nice guy too, told where to buy a Brymen meter, TME in Poland is the best price to ship to the US anyway. I had it in a week. I can’t get stuff shipped from 3 states away that quick or cheap. $10 DSL, amazing. I have 4 of their meters.
@@SIXSTRING63 Thx for the detailed information. No doubt those Brymans are well made 👌 I'm glad you enjoyed the review. Yes its hard to be partisan when you have a personal interest invested in something. I have not tried Dave's 121 GW yet..although if I recall thats a redesigned UEI dmm if I'm correct? Great review well made Sanwa PC 700 both inside and outside very rugged, clear crisp display with very sensitive bargraph. I'm a fan of Sanwa ever since and this multimeter is good for me.
I love it,I love it🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰,very clear n sharp display... Accuracy is overwhelming.. disappointing not all leds lit,,,,price 😳😳😳😳 temptation is very high......
atlast, sanwa meter reviews. congratulations mr walker. sanwa is southeast asian dominant for decades. the cd800, cd800a, the yx 360trd, 360trf, are still the best selling meter models of sanwa.
Thanks so much! Yes SANWA has a great legacy in the world of metrology ! My father's first multimeter was a SANWA back in the early 60s. He still has it!
Great review! So many nice touches on this meter and it has the best input protection I've seen. An audible alarm when leads are plugged into the zero resistance jack (but the meter is set to anything but Amps) should be standard on every meter. My Habotest has the visual ones but even then I've almost blown the thing (or myself) up.
Definitely I like the display. And that bargraph is superb. Excellent accuracy, good design and the quality is obvious. Thanks for your great review. Thumbs up and a new subscriber! 😁 I'd love to have that meter! I'll be on the expect for the draw.
Sanwa and Brymen are allmost indetical multimeters. Exept for color PC700 or PC710 will be my next DMM. Fluke 87V is too much for my need. My enter for giveaway I like to pass to Yimin Sun. He need decent tool for beginning. Good luck
AMTed CH I would recommend the Brymen BM869s with dual temp probe capabilities and dual display on most settings and a 500,000 count display. Similar to the venerable Fluke 189 with more features. Very robust meter that I’ve seen Joe Smith on here run a 12Kv transient through while turning the range switch before it had a minor clamping diode failure. Fluke and Brymen were the only 2 meters that handled that high of a voltage. Best bang for the $$ out there. TME in Poland is the easiest place to get them in the states. Brymen rebrands their meters for Greenlee which stops them from selling the Brymen badged units here. The Greenlee stuff is just as good but way more expensive for the same unit. www.tme.com/us/en-us/details/bm869/portable-digital-multimeters/brymen/bm869s/
It was a great series of reviews for the Sanwa. Perhaps they should have included the PC link cable so that we could get the most out of the unit--especially for $200 dollars. I guess the draw back was the range for capacitance. It's nice to get forward voltage on all LEDs, but at least you can test them via functionality--if they are lit, they are good. From what I can see, the soldering on these boards are top-notch. But I think the price point is too high for the general user. As an electronic technician or electrician they would work, but there is a lot of good meters for about the same price. One can get a Fluke that is design for an electrician for about the same cost. I would be curious of the number of electricians that have Sanwa vs Fluke. Anyway, thank you for your review.
Glad you enjoyed SANWA week it was a great ride! I agree, it would have been great if the PC LINK software and cable was bundled with the multimeter! I know branding means alot and hopefully Sanwa will garnish more popularity in the Western market. They continue to amaze me with the high calibre build quality and attention to detail.
Nice review for one more time! The cons for me are the 9 volts battery(i woud prefer 2 AA or 3 AAA), the lack of backlight and the weakness in testing LED diodes(all of them have the same problem, why? even the cheapos can do it, why not SANWA?). The pros, which i can say WOW is the input protection and the huge fuse(i have never seen something like this before!), it's accuracy(of course!), the visibility of it's screen and it's features! It's a great multimeter and with some changes it could be the best!

Sounds like your multimeter inputs are taking on moisture. Take a cotton swab and Isopropyl Alcohol and clean out each input jack. Let it dry overnight. Let me know..👍
Somehow it remembers me to Brymen DMM´s. Magnetic holder from Sanwa is a twin to Brymen`s. Therefor also the Bayonet lock for the optical connection. (BTW: Brymen doesn`t deliver the connection cable with the DMM, too.) Multiple PCB construction is also used... At least for me, there are two big questions left: WHY? Why no Backlight???
