Maybe not completely feeling it, but certainly inspired me to dig my old analog MM out and play with it. If I recall, I blew the fuse once and wrapped it in tin foil. ah, memories of keeping things running......
thanks for your detailed reviews, they helped me a lot when choosing a multimeter. If possible, pay more attention to the resolution of the multimeter when measuring small mv values.
Is it possible that accuracy improves when the meter is more upright? With a more upright position the zero adjust must be set in a dfifferent position (gravity)
With an Analog meter its actually preferable to be lying flat, tilt stand is only a convenience but in reality accuracy is usually better when the meter is lying completely flat...great question though!
@@KeepOnTesting I understand that that's normally the case, but the question is if it's the case with this model specifically. Have you tested it, and if so, what were the numbers in that setup? It would make an interesting video. There have been quite a few high quality analog multimeters in the past that could only be used in upright position, like models from for example the brand Heathkik.
The build quality of the meter was not so good, there serms to be cold solders on the board that may have caused its poor performance. Thanks for the comprehensive review.

Hi sir. Ive been planning on getting an analog meter to add on my arsenal, i saw your brother multimeter and its available here in the philippines, theres another model that really looks like the proskit on the outsite but a bit different on the inside, any way can you recomend the brother analog multimeter? I wish to have a sanwa bt its a bit pricy and i have my uni t ut60s as my main meter and an aneng an101 so i just want a cheap but decent analog. Thanks🥰
Hello friend, the Brother is actually quite a decent multimeter. 👌 If you could grab it in the Philippines, I would highly recommend getting one. Let me know how you like it.
@@KeepOnTesting my brother multimeter just arrived. Its good. Pointer is smooth, way better than other meter on its price. But i have seen teardown videos of this model and it has a PTC mine doesnt have it🥺 but still works great will use it to test transistors
Great review again Darren. Seems to have lots of dodgy looking solder joints, some of them look completely dry, hopefully there's solder on the other side of the board but still a bit dodgy!
Again this one looked so promising, and I wanted to like it as it was of a good size and had really nice leads - but when it comes to meters accuracy is first on the list of your expectations so yet another meter that coulda been shoulda been but in the end just wasn, a real disappointment for $40. Ive got a Proskit digital and its pretty much the same, feels well made and has good features but for some reason no backlight, accuracy is only so so and other nagging issues. Proskit comes so close in some meters but not close enough. I think you have one that you reviewed awhile back that was actually pretty good as I recall.
To me analog multimeters look so retro nowadays. I’ve never in my life had or use one of them. Sure, they can show changing values much better than digital meters. But you can get a dmm with a bar graph, that should do the same thing. Or am I wrong? I’m really interested how often are they being used these days.
Still popular...perhaps not as much on this side of the pond but I don't think they'll ever go out of fashion..Conversely, the moving needle of an analog meter provides a more complete picture of the current and its fluctuations so it is easier to get a picture in real time.
I don’t usually like analog multimeters but this one is interesting. It’s too bad you had to take it apart to clean all the flux off to get the continuity to work. Btw what video editor do you use? I really like your intros lately. 👏🏻👍
Thx RG...It's definitely a looker but really painful in its current incarnation. I'm using Adobe Premire Pro CC with a host of 3rd party extensions..sometimes I still use FINAL Cut Pro...old habits die hard.. hehe 👍
Firstly big thanks of u and ur detailed vivid videos.plz make on video on affordable price multimeter that should be most durable rough tough(actually cat 2 standards) .wrong range especially on continuty if we give by mistake 330 v dc by main fillter capacitor (anneg 8008 model mention 500 volts protection in continuity range perhaps it may not true) meter that not damaged.i myself use micronta dual rotors, craftsman simple black body without capacitance range.mastech has some protections but rotor is not longlasting.as good multimeters..compare anneg 8008 vs mustool 108 by video.both seems good low budget meter but i could not decide which one is better. Again thanks
Analogue r good to study drive voltage.high frequency ac voltages .these r repairable on damaged by high voltages but never easily repairable by physical damaged it leads to damaged spiral spring of pointer.
I also noticed it costs 53,480 Rubles. Is that in Russian Rubles? Because 53,480 Russian Rubles is around 735 US dollars. That would be one expensive analog meter. 🙂
@@KeepOnTesting Who knows, who knows. In 2013 one US dollar was equal to 30 Rubles. After that it started to debase and now it’s 70+ Rubles for a US dollar. So maybe we just need to wait a little for this meter to cost 53,000 Rubles. 🙂

UNI-T UT191T is definitely a contender!
