    Well now - Aneng is finally stepping up their game for real with some meaningful improvements and additions. Now if they want to keep the price same or lower and add a more vivid display, divorce the backlight from the flashlight and make the mA range 500 to 600 mA this one could be a real keeper as it seems to perform nicely otherwise, but price is a tad high. 25,000 count dual display is a real standout for Aneng, heres hoping for this one to blossom in the future.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Год назад +1

      Blossom would be good! That input protection really poked me in the right place, definitely was not expecting this from ANENG. 😃

    Usually I’m not a fan of Aneng multimeters, but this one is all right. Decent accuracy, nice ranges (except for mA), better than usual input protection, good resolution, dual display is always nice to have. The bar graph doesn’t seem that fast though, but hey, at least it’s there. 👍

    You’re right, $54 is a little too pricey for that. In this price range I would personally go for Uni-t just because their overall quality is more consistent, or wait for this one to go on sale.

    • @KeepOnTesting

      I have a feeling the price will drop on this ANENG fairly quickly. Definitely one of their better offerings as of late.

    25000 count for the money is really good. On a side note, I have to say your b roll footage is amazing. Nice job as always my friend. 👍👍

    Interesting input protection concept. The MOVs are usually on the voltage input as that is the mode that the meter will suffer from voltage spikes. Voltage spike won't have the same effect in current mode as the current shunt acts as the short, don't see the point of a MOV shorting out a current shunt.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Год назад +1

      So true , normally MOVs are bidirectional and non-linear surge suppressing components. As such , they are normally used for limiting voltage during a surge or transient.

    Warren, about a simple way to check AC+DC mode: use a transformer (sinusoidal 60Hz) or any square wave output (as some Aneng have) and a 1.5V battery. Join negatives and isolate / “sum” the two voltage sources (AC and DC) joining their positive (in parallel), where each positive has a 47R resistor in series before joining them. It should give you a simple way to have an uncalibrated, but practical, AC+DC source to check this feature.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  Год назад +2

      Hello my friend! Zotek is usually the OEM for Aneng, HABOTEST is the OEM for Kaiweets although they may have some firmware differences. 👍

    Hello Darren.
    Hmm .... 0660 processor in this level of a multimeter, of course, does not look very nice. Although the protection is performed on CAT III. Completely agree with the assessment. The multimeter is good, but there are places where for this amount they could try better. Still, HOLD PEAK is hard to beat.
    Under the last video, I asked for a review on such an accurate multimeter, only from another company, but this is its complete analogue, the same OEM.
    Thanks Darren. You are the best.

      The Venlab is killer. I think it's by far the best bang for buck meter you can get right now. I haven't had any discrepancies whatsoever with it against the shop Fluke so far. It's particularly great at measuring capacitance, which I find most multimeters fail at when and if they even have that feature.

    On AliX, everything from $52/Cdn/free ship to $84/$27 ship/ WTF? They play games with the shipping a lot these days. But the delivery date is nearly the same. Always check the total price.
    I do like Aneng but already have a UT-61e+ and a Klein MM700..... As Dave Jones says, you can't have too many DMMs (HP 1740A repair). But I think I'll wait.

      Hey Barry.
      Yup. Ali is dodgy when it comes to shipping.
      Different vendors and different shipping rates. Sometimes cheapest shipping is a bad option. The ANENG arrived quickly so it was worth the $. Luck always plays a role too.. Agreed, more multimeters the better but then after a few hundred you kind of lose count

    not on many cheap multimeters, and i can buy the ANENG SZ20 for €41,66 ($45.26 usd) on AE, and that is with 15-day
