That's amazing! I'm just started doing this my self after been watching TheCod3r and FIXD i Repair. Bhought 4 PS5 for $700. One of them have SU-101312-8 (there i just need to remove the ports for the hard drive and manipulate the BIOS) one another has HDMI broken port and one has the error about it's pips once randomly when i'm turning it on, and one PS5 i don't remember the error at the momemt. All of them should be very easily fix and could be selling them for $420 each. And if i just fix one of them i have basicly made almost all of my money back (for the repair system), and if im fixing three of them that's should be enough for everything. All of the errors should be easy fix, but did manage to break some of the pins for HDMI port so i'm looking up a video about how to fix that. Shouldn't be that hard when i have the equipments i need. If i'm fixing all of the 4 PS5 it could be about $1,680 that could be very easy extra income. But buying a PS5 for $50 that's insane, but we are most likely living in different country and there it's high income in Norway and it's very expensive to live here so almost everything costs more. I was feeling so happy when i was buying the first one for $150! Lol. That was like winning the bingo.
Man getting the old component off was the hardest part, thank you for the guide my stepson and I really appreciate it, his ps5 is working like brand new again!
I'm taking a break right now. You're right, I'm trying to get the old one off but It's not wanting to budge. I will get it off eventually. (realized I hadn't sent comment yet) Ok, I just got it off. I think I'm going to take another break before I try to install the new one. lol
I got it out but 1 leg was broke off in the hole. It took as long to get that last leg out as did the rest of the port. This has taken me all day, off and on. I think I'm going to call it a day and try to solder in the port tomorrow after work. I love tinkering with this type of stuff but it is tedious.
This is a great video for teardown, but it takes a lot of heat to pull that port off. The metal shell of that connector is soldered to a pretty heavy ground plane. I would recommend pulling apart the connector and removing the plastic piece first and desoldering the small pins. If you try to heat the whole connector and pull it off as one, you may rip some of the pads off on the fine pitch pins because it hard to get an even amount of heat on both side of the board. As you can see in the video the small pins on that plastic connector we’re already cracked so it came off pretty easy. If your small pins are still soldered to the board be very careful when pulling off the connector.
Had watched this video in hopes to do a self repair after the kids knocked over my ps5 and damaged ther hdmi port. Anything with a sodering iron is a no go for me personally.
